Full text linkA content streaming system can be used for streaming audio and video of a multimedia content at different electronic devices. The content streaming system receives an instruction to play video of a multimedia content at a first electronic device. The system then determines whether to play audio of the multimedia content at a second electronic device which is capable of audio output. Accordingly, the system streams the audio of the multimedia content to the second electronic device and the video of the multimedia content to the first electronic device

The system receives a request from a user to hide social media posts associated with a specified criteria. The specified criteria can be location criteria, event criteria, person criteria, and/or time criteria. Further, the system identifies a set of social media posts on a social media website. Then, the system determines social media posts from the set of social media posts that meet the specified criteria. The system further modifies the set of social media posts by removing or otherwise hiding the social media posts that meet the specified criteria. The system presents the modified set of social media posts to the user
INTEREST BASED CALENDAR
Full text linkAn auto-populated calendar can be created according to interests of a user using the interest based calendar system. The system receives a selection of one or more interest categories and filter criteria for those interest categories for the generation of the interest based calendar from the user. The interest categories can be any area of interest such as food, sports, travel, shopping, etc. The filter criteria can be a time range or a geographic location etc. The system identifies events from different organizers that satisfy the selected categories and the respective filter criteria as set up by the user. The system also filters the identified events based on user data such as user history or feedback about particular events. Finally, the system generates one or more interest based calendars from the filtered events
MANAGEMENT OF VERSIONED MAP DATA TILES STORED ON A CLIENT DEVICE
Full text linkA pre-fetching map data system and method identifies a subset of map data to corresponding to one or more points of interest to be displayed on the map. The map data is stored on a remote map database and in the form of map data tiles bearing version numbers. The pre-fetching map data system identifying those map data tiles that correspond to the subset of map data corresponding to the one or more points of interest, where the identified pre-fetch map data tiles are sent from the remote database to a client device for storing the pre-fetch map data tiles. During pre-fetching the version number of the received map data tiles is examined to determine if a version update for additional map data tiles should be scheduled and executed to update out of date map data on the client device
SYNCHRONIZING AUDIO AND VIDEO PLAYBACK ON MULTIPLE DEVICES
Full text linkAn audio and video playback synchronization system can be used to synchronize an audio and a video of a content playing on separate devices. The devices fetch the audio and/or video content independently. The playback synchronization can be implemented via two separate embodiments. In a first embodiment, the system synchronizes a video of a content playing on a first device with audio of the same content playing on a second device. The system detects, at the first device playing video of the content, the audio of the content from the second device. The system then compares the audio detected from the second device with the audio associated with the video content played at the first device. The system then calculates an audio delay between the audio detected from the second device and the audio associated with the video content played at the first device. Accordingly, the system adjusts the playback of the video content at the first device based on the calculated audio delay.
In a second embodiment, the system synchronizes a first clock signal of a first device with a second clock signal of a second device. The system then detects a message received at the second device from the first device, and the message is stamped with a playback start time of the first device. The system then compares the playback start time received from the first device with the current clock time of the second device to calculate a time difference. Accordingly, the system then adjusts the playback at the second device based on the calculated time difference
Discovering Public Key of Recipient By Email
Full text linkRequests and responses to obtain public keys may be sent and received via email. Before sending an email to be encrypted, a requestor may send a request email to the recipient requesting the recipient’s public key. The recipient may send a response email to the requestor, with the response email including the public key. The requester may then encrypt subsequent emails according to the received public key and send encrypted emails to the recipient. The recipient may automatically respond to the request for the public key, without need for a user to approve the request
