    Auto/Body - 19

    No full text
Disassembled automotive parts on display in The Art Gallery as part of the Auto/Body exhibit. A green spot on the floor reads: “It’s funny that at any given point in time, I think we think we have it all figured out… even if we say we don’t. Hear me out. Think back to who you were ten years ago. Heck, maybe even five. Did you have it all figured out then? I laugh when I think about how naive/flippant I was about understanding the world or even understanding myself just five years ago. Yet today, today I say, “Wow you have it all figured out.” I only get to enjoy that feeling for a minute before I realize in five years I’ll laugh at myself. There is so much more to learn.”https://digitalcommons.collin.edu/rische2025/1002/thumbnail.jp

    Auto/Body - 05

Disassembled automotive parts on display in The Art Gallery as part of the Auto/Body exhibit. A white spot on the floor reads: “My cat, Toulouse, came with me to Seattle. His personality was almost fearless and he didn’t mind the move at all. I kept him inside for a while until he got used to the area and then let him out. Terrible things happened to him there and my heart was broken many times. Once I had to chase a crezy lady down who had him in her arms and was taking him to her car. Another time, I can only guess what happened to him then. I had been gone for a couple of days and couldn’t find him when I got back and he was crying and upset… until he emerged from under my bed. His tail was bloody and broken. More crying ensued.”https://digitalcommons.collin.edu/rische2025/1015/thumbnail.jp

Disassembled automotive parts on display in The Art Gallery as part of the Auto/Body exhibit. A dark blue spot on the floor reads: “I remember watching the movie: What the Bleep We Know and it had a profound effect on me. I suffered from depression the whole time I lived there and had to medicate for it. At the end of the movie, the woman throws her medication away. I did the same. Nothing terrible happened but you’re not supposed to do that and my doctor friends were mad. Recently I read the cause of depression in simple terms: you get depressed when you can’t be yourself.”https://digitalcommons.collin.edu/rische2025/1016/thumbnail.jp
