Lipid Membrane Simlulation Water Behaviour Data
Lipid Membrane Simulation Water Behaviour DataThis repository contains molecular dynamics simulation data and analysis results focusing on the behavior and mobility of water molecules at the interface of lipid membranes. The research emphasizes the dynamic nature of these systems, capturing the movement of the hydration layer in complex environments involving nanotubes.Scientific ContextThe data explores the interaction between water and lipid bilayers composed of DPPC, DSPC, and DSPS. A key feature of these simulations is the presence of nanotubes piercing through the lipid bilayer:Graphite: Representing a carbon nanotube (CNT).Silica: Representing a silicon dioxide (SiO₂) quartz nanotube. The research shifts focus from static models to the dynamic properties of water molecules, particularly how their mobility is influenced by the membrane surface and the presence of these nanostructures. These simulations provide insights into the time-dependent behavior of water, which is critical for understanding biological transport and designing biomimetic materials.</p
Relict charcoal hearths as indicators of long-term microbial shifts and functional imbalance in forest soils - data
The study assessed the long-term effects of historical charcoal production on soil properties and on the composition of bacterial and fungal communities in relic charcoal hearth sites in northern Poland. Three microsites were compared—hearth centre, surrounding ditch, and control soil—revealing persistent differences in physico-chemical parameters and pronounced microbial differentiation. Soils from the hearth centre exhibited higher microbial diversity and a more balanced functional profile, whereas the ditch was characterised by reduced diversity and a shift towards stress-tolerant taxa and saprotrophic groups. SEM observations indicated a well-preserved charcoal microstructure with limited microbial colonisation, suggesting that former charcoal hearths leave durable and spatially heterogeneous “signatures” in the functioning of forest soils.</p

SEM images of membrane air clad LDs - zipped - in TIF format3. SEM images of wing air clad LDs - zipped - in TIF format4. AFM and OM images of the membranes that contain the datafiles with topography information of two measured spots - Ga-side is on the wafer after detachment of the LD while N-side is the membrane backside. The files are readable by open-source software e.g. Gwyddion. Moreover the zipped folder contained also the processed images, and locations on the Ga-side and N-side measurement on the membrane backside. The information about the fabrication steps of the investigated laser diodes is given in readme file.</p
Salicornia cell wall nanomechanics by AFM, cellulose, lignin and polarized light analysis
This data describes datasets related to the analysis of Salicornia europaea cell wall nanomechanics and structural components under different salinity treatments. It includes AFM measurements of cell wall elasticity alongside cellulose quantification and lignin monomer analysis. Polarized light microscopy parameters are also included, documenting birefringence intensity and area distribution. Lipoxygenase and xanthine oxidase inhibition and antioxidant potential of fractions obtained by multi-step extraction of Artist's bracket and Red-belted bracket
Oxidative stress and inflammation play key roles in the development of many diseases. This study evaluated the potential of bioactive compounds derived from Red-belted Bracket and Artist’s Bracket mushrooms to mitigate these processes. Specifically, the study aimed to assess the antioxidant properties of mushroom extracts obtained using a multi-step extraction method, as well as their effects on the activity of pro-inflammatory enzymes, lipoxygenase (LOX) and xanthine oxidase (XO). Particular emphasis was placed on elucidating the underlying mechanisms of action and the kinetics of enzyme inhibition. Stres oksydacyjny i stan zapalny odgrywają kluczową rolę w rozwoju wielu chorób.
