This two-part paper was prepared for the National Council of the Churches of Christ Conference on Church Renewal in 1967. Part one recounts scientific experiments regarding brain stimulation and its effect on behavior and cognitive function for both human and mammal populations. Part two explains the basis of the "LSD state" and provides reports from patients who participated in a Spring Grove therapeutic research study involving LSD as a form of treatment. Part one and two contain a brief bibliography.
