    Edible coatings enriched with biocontrol agents for postharvest Management of Penicillium digitatum in lemons

    The worldwide citrus industry faces significant economic losses as a consequence of fungal infections, primarily green mold caused by Penicillium digitatum. In Argentina, a leading lemon producer, these losses pose a substantial challenge to domestic and international markets. Although synthetic fungicides are widely used for green mold control, their effectiveness is hampered by pathogen resistance and growing concerns regarding environmental contamination from chemical residues. These limitations underscore the need for alternative, eco-friendly solutions for postharvest disease control. In this context, the study explores the development of novel edible coatings enriched with biocontrol agents. Specifically, Clavispora lusitaniae (strains AgL21 and 146) and Bacillus velezensis BA3 were combined with alginate and chitosan coatings to evaluate their efficacy in controlling P. digitatum while maintaining fruit quality.Fil: Diaz, Mariana Andrea.     Dancing the Word, Shouting the Silence: Approaches to the Figuration of Violence in Patricia Zangaro's Dramaturgy

    El presente trabajo aborda las distintas figuraciones de la violencia en la textualidad dramática de Patricia Zangaro. A partir de la década del noventa, en el siglo XX, esta dramaturga porteña organiza su escritura sobre una constante violencia del lenguaje. Tal acción discursiva se proyecta tanto sobre la corporalidad como en la voz de los personajes. La palabra escénica adquiere una carnadura compleja en la que conviven lo pronunciado con aquello que se decide callar y lo que se grita, con un ahogo consecuentemente impuesto. Proponemos para el estudio de lo anterior, una casuística integrada por dos textos en los que destacan las escansiones entre palabra y silencio. Última luna (1998) y Tango (2008) integran la serie referida y colocan en el centro de la mira, las relaciones entre poder, género y violencia. En el primer caso, el retorno al mito de la cautiva ancla en el espacio del desierto una metáfora de la desaparición y la muerte, pero también de la memoria. En el segundo, la danza es coreografiada mediante la fragmentación de los parlamentos y la inmovilidad de los cuerpos. La poética de la autora arma una cartografía de sentido contra la violencia mediante una escritura que descarna distintas relaciones de dominación.This paper deals with the different figurations of violence in Patricia Zangaro's dramatic textuality. Since the 1990s, this Buenos Aires playwright has organised her writing around a constant violence of language. This discursive action is projected both onto the corporeality and the voice of the characters. The scenic word acquires a complex flesh in which what is pronounced coexists with what is decided to be silent and what is shouted, with a consequently imposed suffocation. For the study of the above, we propose a casuistry made up of two texts in which the scans between word and silence stand out. Última luna (1998) and Tango (2008) are part of the aforementioned series and focus on the relations between power, gender and violence. In the first case, the return to the myth of the captive anchors in the desert space a metaphor of disappearance and death, but also of memory. In the second, the dance is choreographed through the fragmentation of the speeches and the immobility of the bodies.     Analytical Information Links Between Fisher’s Measure and Gibbs’ Ensembles

    This is a purely analytical information theory work. We will uncover interesting links between Fisher’s measure and Gibbs’ ensembles, particulary the grand canonical and canonical ones, each offering distinct insights into a system’s properties. In this effort, we construct an informational connection between these ensembles, based on Fisher’s measure. We specifically explore the relationships among four key concepts: • The canonical and grand canonical ensembles. • Fisher information measures applied to three parameters (inverse temperature, particle number, and fugacity). • The Fano factor. • Special Poisson probability distributions (PDs) that are related to grand canonical PDs by having the same mean particle number ⟨N⟩.     El presente trabajo recupera la provocación del maestro indígena tule Abadio Green Stocel, para quien, “ir al otro y volver del otro” no es un problema intelectual sino un problema del corazón. Desde allí, sugiere que estudiar al otro es algo distinto a comprenderlo. Implica conocer la vida de y con los pueblos. Para él, investigar es cambiar el corazón, la metodología. Esto suena bonito y ha dado origen al corazonar como métodosabiduría desarrollado por el musico y antropólogo ecuatroriano Guerrero Arias, como expresión próxima al pensamiento fronterizo que asumimos necesaria para ese “ir y volver a lo otro”, para captar la forma en que los sujetos entienden la realidad y ofrecen respuestas creativas apoyadas en un pensamiento propio, pero, a la vez, nos conduce a preguntarnos: ¿no reintroduce el viejo binarismo emoción y razón contra la simpatía que nos genera esa hermosa expresión? Dicho esto, nos interesa tender un puente entre ese “ir y volver a lo otro”, el sentido de “corazonar” de los pueblos indígenas ecuatorianos (kitu kara) y nuestra forma de entenderlo/asumirlo, lo cual lleva implícita una relación con lo representado moldeada por nuestra la tarea intelectual.This article takes up the provocation of the indigenous teacher Tule Abadio Green Stocel, for whom "going to the other and returning from the other" is not an intellectual problem, but a problem of the heart. From there, suggests on the fact that studying the other is something different from understanding them. It involves getting to know the lives of and with people. For him, research means changing the heart, the methodology. This sounds beautiful and has given rise to corazonar as a method developed by the Ecuadorian musician and anthropologist Guerrero Arias, an expression close to the frontier thinking that we suppose is necessary for this "going back and forth to the other", to understand the way subjects understand reality and offer creative responses based on their own thinking, but at the same time, it leads us to ask ourselves: doesn't this reintroduce the old binarism of emotion and reason, clashing with the pleasant impression that this beautiful expression makes on us? Having said that, we are actually interested in building a bridge between this "going back and forth to the other", in the sense of the "corazonar" of the Ecuadorian indigenous peoples (kitu kara), as well as our way of understanding/assuming it, which implies a relationship with what is represented, shaped by our intellectual task.Este artigo retoma a provocação do professor indígena Tule Abadio Green Stocel, para quem "ir ao outro e voltar do outro" não é um problema intelectual, mas um problema do coração. A partir daí, sugere sobre o fato de que estudar o outro é algo diferente de compreendê-lo. Isso envolve conhecer a vida das e com as pessoas. Para ele, pesquisar significa mudar o coração, a metodologia. Isso soa bonito e deu origem ao corazonar como um métodosabedoria desenvolvido pelo músico e antropólogo equatoriano Guerrero Arias, como uma expressão próxima ao pensamento fronteiriço que supomos ser necessário para esse "ir e voltar ao outro", para compreender a maneira como os sujeitos entendem a realidade e oferecer respostas criativas com base em seu próprio pensamento, mas, ao mesmo tempo, nos leva a nos perguntar: isso não reintroduz o velho binarismo de emoção e razão, batendo de frente com a agradável impressão que essa bela expressão gera em nós?     Highly Sensitive Direct Measurement of Magnetostriction and Stress Response in Near-Zero Magnetostrictive Microwires

    The evaluation of magnetostriction in amorphous alloy materials, particularly in the form of microwires, has traditionally relied on indirect methods utilizing inverse magnetoelastic effects to determine the saturation magnetostriction constant, λs. In this study, we report direct magnetostriction measurements using a home-made apparatus capable of determining the engineering magnetostriction, λe, with high sensitivity down to than δl/ lo = 10−9 as a function of the applied field, λe(H), and its stress-dependent, λe(σ ), and magnetization, λe(M), behaviors. Measurements were conducted on in-water-quenched amorphous microwires, including Co-based microwires with vanishing magnetostriction, as well as in a highly magnetostrictive microwire. In addition, the indirect method was used to calculate saturation magnetostriction constant, λs, using the complementary hysteresis loops under applied stress. For Fe-rich Fe75Si10 B15 microwires, λs = 31.2 × 10−6 was determined. In contrast, for Co-rich microwires, the (Co94Fe6)15Si15B10 alloy exhibited near-zero positive magnetostriction with λs = 9.7 × 10−8, while (Co95Fe5)15Si15B10 displayed a slight negative magnetostriction λs = −17 × 10−8. The behavior of magnetostrictive strain under mechanical stress in near-zero magnetostrictive alloys, as observed from direct measurements, shows significant differences compared to indirect measurements found in the literature. Direct measurement of magnetostriction in amorphous microwires provides the magnetostriction value of the material according to its stress state, essential for accurately quantifying magnetostriction in sensors during operation, ensuring more precise and dependable results.Fil: Moya, Javier Alberto.     Doppler ultrasound assessment of uterine artery in canine endometritis

    This study aimed to describe and compare uterine artery velocimetry in bitches suffering from endometritis,cystic endometrial hyperplasia (CEH) and healthy animals, and to evaluate the effect of clinical, ultrasonographic,bacteriological and histopathological parameters on the uterine artery resistance index in these bitches.According to clinical, two-dimensional ultrasonographic, gross and histopathological uterine evaluation, thirtythreebitches were classified as: Endometritis (END; n = 13), CEH (n = 7) and healthy bitches (NG; n = 13).Uterine ultrasonographic examinations were performed on each patient using B mode and pulsed-wave Doppler.Peak systolic velocity (PSV), end diastolic velocity (EDV) and resistance index (RI) were obtained. A generalizedlinear model was carried out to analyze the effect of group, clinical, ultrasonographic, bacteriological and histopathologicalvariables on PSV, EDV and RI. EDV was higher in CEH than END (P 0.1). END presented a lower RI than NG and higher RI thanCEH (P < 0.01). Additionally, CEH showed lower RI than NG (P < 0.01). This study showed an effect of highervalues of endometrium thickness, PMNN/HPF and vascular congestion on RI (P < 0.01). It was concluded that, inthese bitches, uterine artery RI was a valuable parameter to distinguish endometritis from normal uterus andCEH. An increase in neutrophils and vascular congestion influenced RI, remarking the importance of angiogenesisand the inflammatory reaction on uterine perfusion increase.     Moral superiority over the state: Young people’s experience of inflation and the rise of the libertarian right in Argentina

    This article examines social experiences of inflation as the basis for an empirical analysis about how a particular sector in Argentina began leaning toward the political platform of the extreme right under Javier Milei. In order to establish these connections, we focus on the experience of young people, as this is the age group where support for the libertarian is broadest. The research included a quantitative and a qualitative stage (surveys and focus groups) in order to grasp the experience of crisis among lower and middle-class urban youth in neighborhoods of the Buenos Aires Metro Area. It traces the period from 2020, when inflation began to surge, to the presidential elections of 2023, showing how the experience of inflation among Argentine youth contributed to a moral antagonism toward the state. This, in turn, fostered a sense of moral superiority among this age group that led them to embrace the libertarian political platform, especially the dollarization of Argentina’s economy.Fil: Welschinger Lascano, Nicolás Sebastían.     Posterior Shoulder Instability, Part II—Glenoid Bone Grafting, Glenoid Osteotomy, and Rehabilitation/Return to Play—An International Expert Delphi Consensus Statement

    Purpose To establish consensus statements on glenoid bone grafting, glenoid osteotomy, rehabilitation, return to play, and follow-up for posterior shoulder instability. Methods A consensus process on the treatment of posterior shoulder instability was conducted, with 71 shoulder/sports surgeons from 12 countries participating on the basis of their level of expertise in the field. Experts were assigned to 1 of 6 working groups defined by specific subtopics within posterior shoulder instability. Consensus was defined as achieving 80% to 89% agreement, whereas strong consensus was defined as 90% to 99% agreement, and unanimous consensus was indicated by 100% agreement with a proposed statement. Results All of the statements relating to rehabilitation, return to play, and follow-up achieved consensus. There was unanimous consensus that the following criteria should be considered: restoration of strength, range of motion, proprioception, and sport-specific skills, with a lack of symptoms. There is no minimum time point required to return to play. Collision athletes and military athletes may take longer to return because of their greater risk for recurrent instability, and more caution should be exercised in clearing them to return to play, with elite athletes potentially having different considerations in returning to play. The relative indications for revision surgery are symptomatic apprehension, multiple recurrent instability episodes, further intra-articular pathologies, hardware failure, and pain. Conclusions The study group achieved strong or unanimous consensus on 59% of statements. Unanimous consensus was reached regarding the criteria for return to play, collision/elite athletes having different considerations in return to play, indications for revision surgery, and imaging only required as routine for those with glenoid bone grafting/osteotomies at subsequent follow-ups. There was no consensus on optimal fixation method for a glenoid bone block, the relative indications for glenoid osteotomy, whether fluoroscopy is required or if the labrum should be concomitantly repaired.Fil: Hurley, Eoghan T..     Forecasting Intense Radar Reflectivity Using Machine Learning and Deep Learning Algorithms

    Over the past 50 years, numerous studies have been conducted in the Cuyo region of Argentina, South America, investigating the relationship between meteorological variables and hail precipitation. These studies have led to the development of various models aimed at classifying hydrometeors, determining their precipitation, size, and the resulting surface damage. Based on 16 years of observations using a three-radar network in the Cuyo region, this paper presents preliminary results from a hail prediction study employing machine learning and deep learning techniques applied to radar data. Algorithms random forest (RF), gradient boosting (GB) and logistic regression (LR) in addition to a recurrent neural network, were used to predict hail occurrence based on radar data. Storm cells were classified as hail or no-hail when their reflectivity reached or exceeded 55 dBZ during their evolution. Reflectivity was found to be the most suitable variable among over 50 radar variables for studying hail occurrence. Results showed that considering the temporal evolution of radar observations, by including data at different time steps (from Results showed that considering the temporal evolution of radar observations, by including data at different time steps (from t = 1 to t = 5), significantly improved the algorithms ability to predict hail occurrence). This can be attributed to both a reduction in forecast lead time and the relevance of the temporal evolution of the variables. The inclusion of global model data, such as reanalysis from ECMWF (ERA5) did not demonstrate any significant improvement in our predictions.
