Maegawa Traditional House in Kinome Mountain pass
This article is a report of the findings in a house of the Maegawas located on the Kinome mountain pass of Tsuruga-city. Hokurikudo way through along the Kinome mountain pass for a long time and this place was the doorway of the Echizen district. The household of Maegawas acted as the post called Otyayaban of the Fukui feudal clan and kept watching the passers of the Hokurikudo way. Maegawas house have the traditional room called Gyokuza where the Fukui feudal lord take a break. We clarified the following things through the investigation this house, 1) Maegawas house was built in the middle of the Edo era, 2) Maegawas house is the valuable historic house which exist in the descript of Fukui prefecture
Experimental Study on Effect of Axial Load on Precast Reinforced Concrete Core Walls
Precast core walls in high-rise buildings are effective for construction because they can be built more quickly than cast-in-place core walls. In this study, lateral loading tests were conducted on wall columns simulating the corner and the area near the corner of an L-shaped core wall with horizontal tied rebars. The specimen consisted of four square-section precast columns. The vertical joints between the precast columns were grouted with high-strength mortar. Each precast column had cotters at the vertical joint,and horizontal tied rebars were concentrated at the second and third floor levels, and the mid height level of the first story. Based on the results of lateral loading tests, the effect of axial load was clarified
Two-Photon Ionization of Pyrene in the Presence of Cyclodextrin
We investigated the two-photon ionization (TPI) of Pyrene (Py) in the presence of cyclodextrins (CDs) by using 266-nm laser pulse irradiation. The formation of the incorporation complex of Py/CD was confirmed by 1H NMR
measurement. TPI of Py within the laser flash (5 ns) generated a radical cation of Py and hydrated electrons. The ionization quantum yield (Φion) of Py in the presence of α-CD and γ-CD (1.0 × 10-2 M) was calculated to be 64.6 ±1.1%, 0.5 ± 0.1%, respectively. On the other hand, the Φion of Py could not calculated in the presence of β-CD. We concluded that these results were attributed to the decrease of the concentration of singlet excited state by excimer formation and stabilization energy arising from solvation, which was affected by the area of Py protruding from the cavity of the CD. When the concentration of CD was lowered to 1.0 × 10-3 M, the Φion of Py was affected by the fluorescence lifetime, the stabilization energy of salvation, and the excimer formation. As a result, we found that the TPI of Py in the presence of CD were influenced to the fluorescence lifetime, the stabilization energy of salvation, and the excimer formation
Correlation between Fitness Levels/ Body Fat/ Blood Lipids/ HbA1c and Blood Pressure in Middle-aged and Elderly Men and Women
The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between fitness levels, body fat, blood lipids, hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) and blood pressure in middle-aged and elderly men and women. Three hundred and sixty one individuals, 116 men and 245 women, volunteered to be subjects in this study. Informed consent was obtained from all of the subjects by explaining the purpose and the methods of this study. The variables of this study were: grip strength, open-eyes foot-balance, sit-ups, trunk flexion in sitting position, toe strength, total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), triglyceride (TG) and HbA1c,percent body fat (%Fat) and systolic and diastolic blood pressures. According to this study, toe strength values are positively correlated with grip strength and open-eyes foot-balance in almost all age groups. Significant interrelationships between TC, HDL-C, LDL-C, TG, HbA1c and systolic and diastolic blood pressure values can be seen
小学校理科における粒子および生命領域の教員研修
坂井市小学校理科研究部会と連携し,最近の理科(粒子および生命領域)授業で行われる実験についての課題や,教員が指導力向上のために受講を希望する単元(内容)をアンケートにより抽出した。その結果,希望が多かった内容や単元について,大学と地域が協働して講習会を実施し,事後評価を行った。この際,坂井市を含む同一ブロック内に勤務校のある上級CST(コア・サイエンス・ティーチャー:地域の核となる理科教員)も,エネルギーおよび地球領域の教材紹介等を担当したので併せて報告する
