Experimental Study on Structural Performance of Precast Reinforced Concrete Core Wall with a Small Quantity of Cotters

    No full text
In the core wall system in high-rise buildings, precast core walls are effective for construction because they can be built more quickly than cast-in-place core walls. In this study, a lateral loading test was conducted on a wall column simulating the corner and the area near the corner of an L-shaped core wall with a small quantity of cotters. The wall column was divided into precast columns, and horizontal tied rebars were concentrated at the second and third floor levels, and the mid height level of the first story. Based on the results of lateral loading tests, the structural performance of the wall column with a small quantity of cotters was clarified

An On-the-spot Inspection in Safety of the Pedestrian-vehicle Separation Signal A Case of Nishinotoin-dori St., Kyoto City

In this study, I investigated the pedestrian-vehicle separation signal of the residents were pointed out dangerous, a case of Nishinotoin-dori St. in Kyoto city. In the purpose, I inspected through field survey at ensuring safety especially for pedestrian of weak people in transportation. As a result, I clarified to avoidance behavior by the cyclists and the pedestrians which for cyclist was crossing to the zebra crossing at the pedestrian signal. The automobile which unreasonable enters an intersection was to obstruct crossing the pedestrian in the zebra crossing. In the future, it is necessary to make an appealing crossing plan that that pedestrians, bicycle users and automobile users can move safely, reliably and comfortably in the city

Synthesis of Glycolate-Containing Poly(tetramethylene glycol)s and Properties of Degradable Polyurethanes Prepared Therefrom

    No full text
Glycolate-containingp oly(tetramethyleneg lycol)s (PTHF-GA-OH) were prepared by the reaction of bifunctional living poly(tetrahydrofuran) with lithium bromide followed by the substitution reaction of the produced bromide end groups with potassium glycolate. The obtained polyols were reacted with 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate and then with 1,4-butanediol to give a polyurethane with degradable ester moieties. The treatment of the obtained polyurethane (PTHF-GA-BD-PU) with potassium hydroxide in tetrahydrofuran/ethano(l9 /1 v/v) solvent in the presence of a small amount of water caused hydrolysis reaction of the glycolate ester linkages to give the mixture of PTMG and the urethane oligomers. The extraction of PTMG with methylene chloride from the mixture resulted in the recovery of PTMG in over 70% yield based on the poly(tetrahydrofuran)s egments of PTHF-GA-BD-PU.E nzymatic degradation of PTHF-GA-BD-PU was carried out with lipase as a catalyst. The heterogeneous reaction with film specimens in water using phosphate buffer solution (pH 7.4) at 37 °C caused the decrease in the molecular weight of PTHF-GA-BD-PU. This is probably due to the lipase-catalyzed hydrolysis of the glycolate ester groups of PTHF-GA-BD-PU

    鉄道ロングレールの軸応力測定に対する表面SH波音弾性の適用

On railroad tracks, in order to improve a riding comfortability and a noise suppression, the introduction of long rail is advanced in recent years. However, because a long rail is concluded on the long section, the elasticity of the rail accompanying a temperature change is restrained and consequently an axial stress generates. In case of the big axial stress, there is a possibility of causing a buckling and a tension fracture in railroad rail. In this study, we carried out the basic examination for applying a surface SH-wave acoustoelastic method to the stress measurement as an axial stress management of railroad long rails. This method is able to measure the stress of metallic materials nondestructively, even if the initial value, an acoustic anisotropy by the texture, is unknown. A T-type surface SH-wave sensor was improved for the railroad rail and the residual stress measurement in a 50 kgN rail being used for long rails of conventional lines was tried. As the result, it was demonstrated that this sensor was able to measure the residual stress nondestructively by comparing with a strain gage testing. Moreover, in order to measure the axial stress of a long rail, the side of head of the rail has been found out as a suitable measurement point which is unaffected by residual stress. On the other hand, considering the effect of thickness of the rail, it was found that the axial stress in a railroad long rail would be able to measure accurately by compensating acoustoelasticity coefficient

Detection Methods of Asian Dust and PM2.5 by Using MODIS Data -Their Applications to Asian Dust Events Which Aggravated Respiratory Symptoms in Western Japan in May 2011-

    No full text
Asian dust (i.e., dust and sandstorm: DSS) is a phenomenon that wind-borne soil and mineral particles are raised thousands of meters into the air in arid and semi-arid regions of China and Mongolia, and is carried by westerly winds and sometimes reaches Japan. The PM2.5 air pollution is often generated in urban and industrial areas of China recently, and sometimes flows into Japan. DSS and PM2.5 affect the human health. DSS can be detected by using AVI method of the satellite remote sensing technique. AVI is defined as AVI=T12-T11, where T12 and T11 are the brightness temperatures at 12μm and 11μm wave lengths, respectively. For MODIS data, T12 and T11 correspond to band32 and band31, respectively. PM2.5 can be detected by using the proposed method {R, G, B = band10, band 9, T11}. In this paper, these methods apply to the DSS events which aggravated Respiratory Symptoms (Asthma) in Western Japan in May 2011

The Student Guidance Office 2015 Annual Report

    No full text
This reports statistics and activities in the student guidance office as 2015 annual report. From the statistical results, the number of students to support in students guidance office has been increasing for this 11 years. It addressed a variety of students’ problems from learning and career to developmental disorder and mental disease. Two reasons can be drawn from these findings. First, it suggested that there was an increased number of users in the student guidance office as a result of implementing both UPI test and post-interview during health checkup. Second, the student guidance office is widely recognized on campus, thus the counselor can collaborate closely with other faculties and staffs
