The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of life satisfaction and job motivation to job satisfaction in the teachers, and examining mediating roles of job motivation between the other two variables. The online form consisted of 24 items was voluntary filled by 264 teachers. A structural equation modeling analysis was carried out when analysing data. The fit indices of the hypothesized structural model indicated perfect fit the data. It was found that the life satisfaction was a significant predictor of teacher job motivation and job satisfaction. This means that as the life satisfaction level of teachers increased, the level of job motivation and satisfaction positively increased. We concluded that in order to increase job satisfaction of teachers, any action which might increase the motivation level and the life quality of the teacher should be supported by the schools and ministries

Investigation of Primary School Students Metacognitive Awareness and Decision-Making Skill
The purpose of this study is to determine the third and fourth grade primary school students metacognitive awareness and perception of their decision-making skill and the relationship between them. The study employed the relational survey model. The population of the study is comprised of the third and fourth grade primary school students attending at the state schools in the Marmaris province of the city of Muğla. The sample was randomly determined and included 143 students. As the data collection tools, The Teacher Form to Determine Primary School Students Metacognitive Awareness and The Scale of Third and Fourth Grade Primary School Students Perception of Decision-Making Skill were used. The findings have revealed that the primary school students metacognitive awareness and perception of their decision-making skill are high. It was concluded that the third and fourth grade primary school students metacognitive awareness and perception of decision-making skill do not differ significantly in terms of the gender and grade level variables. Moreover, a positive and weak correlation was found between the students metacognitive awareness and perception of decision-making skill and their metacognitive perception was found to predict their perception of decision-making skill. It can be argued that during the primary education, when teachers get students engaged in activities to develop their metacognitive awareness, their decision-making skill can also be developed
Performance of Students with Different Learning Preferences in Traditional First Semester Calculus
The present study sought to examine mathematical performance of students with different learning preferences in traditionally taught first semester calculus as well as its relationship with learning preference, spatial ability, and verbal-logical reasoning ability. Data were collected from 86 students enrolled in two sections of first semester calculus at a large state university located in the Southeastern U. S. Although the study was too small to enable generalizations, the results suggest that mathematical performance is not related to learning preference, and students do not differ in their calculus performance due to a mismatch between the instructional mode and their learning preference
Indicators of Reading Comprehension%253A Example of Narrative Text and Open Ended Question
Reading comprehension is a mental skill that requires establishing connections between the content of the text and the individual%252339%253Bs prior knowledge. The purpose of the current study is to examine the reading comprehension levels of primary school fourth grade students based on their answers to open-ended questions about a narrative text in relation to different variables. The current study employing the descriptive survey model was conducted with the participation of 115 primary school fourth grade students from a city in the Central Anatolian Region of Turkey. An inventory consisted of 10 open-ended questions based on a narrative text was used to collect data. The level of reading comprehension of the students participating in the study was found to be in the stage of transition from the difficulty level to the instructional level and this level can be expressed as insufficient. Although the students%252339%253B reading comprehension levels do not vary significantly according to the gender variable, girls%252339%253B reading comprehension levels are higher than boys. Through open-ended questions, it is easy to observe how students structure their answers, how they manage the process of constructing the meaning of the text, and what they focus on in the text. In this way, strategy teaching and activity design can progress more concretely in order to improve students%252339%253B meaning construction skills. In addition, it provides the teacher with a good opportunity to get acquainted with students whose understanding skills are at the instructional level, realize their approach to text and question, and provide individual support to the student. The results of the current study provide consistent and meaningful data for new research and educational practices in schools

The Comparison of the Social Skills, Problem Behaviours and Academic Competence of Gifted Students and Their Non-gifted Peers
The purpose of this study is to compare the social skills, problem behaviours and academic competence of gifted students at elementary level with their non-gifted peers, and to assess these based on the variables age, gender, and school year. The study group consists of 50 gifted students in second, third and fourth grade in state schools in Ankara in the 2017- 2018 school year and their 50 non-gifted peers. In order to obtain data for the study, The Social Skills Rating Scale Teacher Form was used which developed by Gresham and Elliot (1990) and translated into Turkish by Sucuoğlu and Özokçu (2005) has been used. The data has been analysed using the SPSS 22.00 software package. Descriptive statistics have been used for data analysis. According to the results of the study, it was observed that the social skills levels and the academic competence levels of the gifted students were statistically more developed compared to their non-gifted peers. On the other hand, it was observed that there was no difference between gifted students and their non-gifted peers in terms of problem behaviours. In this study, no significant difference was found in the academic competence levels of gifted students according to gender. It was found out in the study that 10-year old students display more problem behaviours in comparison to their 9-year old peers. There was no meaningful difference in the social skills and academic competence of gifted students based on the variable school year. Although the results of this study present that gifted students have better social skills and academic competence, and display less problem behaviours compared to their peers, further research needs to be conducted to clarify this situation
