No full textMigratory trajectory and oral history of English-speakers in the city of
PauMale British young man of around twenty years of age. He is currently a
student studying at the University of Pau. He has been living in France for about three
years. He makes comparisons between life in the United Kingdom (he comes from the south
of England) and his new life in France. He was home-schooled for the majority of his
life. However, he took his A’ Levels at the time that Covid happened, and so when he
came to France he decided to go back to school to the International School in Pau, where
he took the French Baccalaureate, also. He speaks of cultural differences between life
in France, making comparisons about a slower pace of life, and food in France. He also
states that he thinks that his life is now in France and that it was the best move that
his parents made to come to live in Pau. He speaks about language learning, and the use
of English and French.Jeune homme britannique d'une vingtaine d'années. Il est
actuellement étudiant à l'université de Pau. Il vit en France depuis environ trois ans.
Il fait des comparaisons entre la vie au Royaume-Uni (il vient du sud de l'Angleterre)
et sa nouvelle vie en France. Il a été scolarisé à domicile pendant la majeure partie de
sa vie. Cependant, il a passé son baccalauréat (britannique) à l'époque où Covid a eu
lieu et, lorsqu'il est arrivé en France, il a décidé de retourner à l'école
internationale de Pau, où il a également passé le baccalauréat français. Il parle des
différences culturelles entre la vie en France, en faisant des comparaisons sur le
rythme de vie plus lent et la nourriture en France. Il déclare également qu'il pense que
sa vie est désormais en France et que c'est la meilleure décision que ses parents aient
prise de venir vivre à Pau. Il parle de l'apprentissage des langues et de l'utilisation
de l'anglais et du français
