    Analysis of Fall Incidence and Influencing Factors Among Home-Dwelling Elderly in China

    Objective: To explore the current situation of falls among elderly people at home in Hechi City, Guangxi, China, and its influencing factors, so as to provide a basis for the formulation of targeted fall prevention intervention strategies. Methods: A convenience sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey on 140 home-based elderly aged 60 or above in a community in Hechi City, Guangxi in 2025. Survey tools included a general information questionnaire and the Morse Fall Risk Assessment Scale. The χ² test was used to analyze the fall status and influencing factors among older adults. Results: The fall incidence rate within the past year was 22.9%. The rate of seeking medical attention after a fall was 28.1% (9/32). Chi-square test results indicated that chronic diseases, gait abnormalities, use of assistive devices, and insufficient self-awareness of fall risk were major risk factors for falls among the elderly (all P<0.05). Conclusion: The high incidence of falls among home-dwelling older adults results from multiple interacting factors. Emphasis should be placed on enhancing self-assessment awareness, strengthening health education, improving home environments, and implementing multifactorial interventions to prevent and reduce falls

    Defined Contribution Plan Participant’s Position after the Subprime Crisis

    The growing number of Defined Contribution Plans available in the U.S. has presented many in the U.S. work force with investment decisions. Decisions many of these workers have not been faced with in the past. An analysis of the Survey of Consumer Finance data over the early portion of the sample period, 1992-2010 has shown that the annual average percentage of liquid retirement plan savings allocated to equity assets increased from 43.02% to 66.42%. In 2010, after the subprime crisis, the allocation to equity declined but remained high at 50.65%, even though the market in 2001 and 2008 changed the allocation for many participants. Researchers attempt to find the reason that retirement savings plan participants have chosen to take a riskier position over the years. After controlling for factors such as age and income classifications, this study finds the educational classification to be a significant factor in explaining the percentage that participants allocate to the relatively riskier assets

    This study investigated the impact of the Concept Mapping Teaching Approach (CMTA) on Biology achievement among year four students in selected secondary schools in Kitui County, Kenya. The Solomon Four Non-Equivalent Control Group design was used. The target population included all secondary school Biology students, while the accessible population comprised Form Four students from co-educational secondary schools in the county. A purposive sample of four secondary co-educational Sub County schools was selected. Two schools were randomly assigned as experimental groups and the remaining two schools served as control groups. The study sample comprised 173 Form four Biology students. Biology Achievement Test (BAT) was used to collect data. The BAT was validated by five experts. The reliability of BAT was estimated using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient formula. This yielded a reliability coefficient of 0.78. One-way ANOVA, ANCOVA and t-tests were used to analyze data at 0.05 level of significance. Results indicated that students exposed to CMTA showed significant improvements in their biology performance. Additionally, the study findings indicate that CTMA bridged the gender disparity in achievement

Only the theory can be found from the textbook: the hydrolysis constant K=αNδ, which is problematic and not available. Had to establish a new theory and formula: “double Chen hydrolysis formula”.Tryptophan can be preserved by hydrolysis with citric acid. It does not cause racemization of amino acids. You get L-amino acids, you don’t get D-amino acids. It is neutralized with hydrated lime to form insoluble calcium citrate and filtered out without any impurities. It can also remove heavy metals such as arsenic, cadmium, mercury, lead and chromium. It does not pollute the environment, retains the advantages of hydrochloric acid hydrolysis and overcomes its disadvantages. Residual calcium citrate is a good calcium supplement for livestock and poultry—is environmentally friendly

    Research on the Impact of Regional Innovation Capacity on Total Factor Productivity Improvement

    In the Party's 20th annual report, it clearly states that we must focus on improving total factor productivity as an important means to promote economic development. Enhancing regional innovation capability is crucially important for increasing total factor productivity. This article selects data from 30 provinces in China over the 11-year period from 2012 to 2022 as a case study, employing various econometric methods to verify the expected theory and explore the impact of regional innovation capability on total factor productivity. The study shows that: Initially, enhancing regional innovation capability significantly boosts total factor productivity at the regional level, and this finding holds true across a range of robustness checks. second, high regional innovation capacity can promote the improvement of human capital level and urbanization level, and then indirectly promote the improvement of regional total factor productivity. Thus, enhancing regional innovation capabilities serves as a vital approach to driving high-quality economic growth and ensuring continuous gains in total factor productivity

    A Study of the Effect of Urban Comforts on the Willingness of Migrants to Stay in the City

    As China's urbanisation process accelerates, more and more migrant populations are choosing to settle in cities, and studies affecting their willingness to stay are becoming increasingly diverse. In addition to traditional factors such as economic income and employment opportunities, the comfort of urban life has gradually become an important consideration influencing the choices of migrants. Based on social capital theory, ecosystem theory, social identity theory and social support theory, this paper focuses on the influence of urban comforts on the intention to stay of urban migrants, and explores the mechanism of urban comforts on the intention to stay of migrants. In the empirical study, this paper synthesises the urban comforts indicator based on the data collected at the city level and carries out a benchmark regression analysis, and the regression results show that urban comforts have a significant positive impact on the willingness to stay of the migrant population. In the individual heterogeneity analysis, it is found that urban comforts have a stronger effect on the willingness to stay of married migrants than unmarried or divorced migrants, and that urban comforts have a stronger effect on the willingness to stay of highly educated migrants than those with a low level of education. In the analysis of urban heterogeneity, it is found that the effect of urban comforts on the willingness to stay of the migrant population varies according to whether the city is in the east, middle and west of China, whether it is the Yangtze River Economic Belt, or whether it is a municipality directly under the central government. Based on this, this study proposes relevant policy recommendations

    Embedded Water-lubricated Bearing Temperature Wireless Monitoring System

    For the ship lubrication system, different water temperatures not only affect the viscosity coefficient of the water, but also cause additional thermal deformation of the rubber bearing, and in serious cases, it also affects the normal operation of the ship lubrication system. However, the water film has a closed area, various bearing structures, complex operating conditions, and limited existing monitoring methods, resulting in accurate temperature data that is not easy to obtain. In order to solve the above problems, a thin-film temperature sensor was proposed to be embedded in the water-lubricated bearing and wireless communication technology was applied, and a monitoring system was developed to achieve real-time monitoring of the bearing temperature signal. Firstly, the temperature monitoring system and bearing system are described, then the temperature sensor is calibrated, and finally the system is designed and tested through software and hardware. The results show that the method of the wireless temperature monitoring system in this paper is feasible
