    The Practical Path of Implementing the Spirit of the Eight-point Decision of the CPC Central Committee in the New Era

    The Eight-point Decision on Improving Party and Government Conduct, like a refreshing breeze, have swept across China since 2012, cleansing the Party and government conduct while ushering in a renewed social ethos. The spirit of the Eight-point Decision has taken root with the determination to build trust, these provisions have “advanced comprehensive strict governance of the Party and improved conduct in political, administrative, and social spheres.” (Note 1) This paper examines current Party conduct improvement practices. Building on an understanding of the Eight-point Decision, it proposes a five-pronged approach for their implementation in the new era: ideological cultivation, supervisory mechanisms, institutional refinement, integrated governance of corruption and integrity, and cultural development. These coordinated efforts will ensure thorough and sustained enforcement of the provisions, providing robust support for Party building

    Drawing upon systemic-functional semiotics and Michael O'Toole's analytical framework for sculpture, this study conducts a multifactorial, systemically oriented investigation of environmental ceramic works. Through detailed multimodal description and comparative case analyses of both Chinese and international pieces, it demonstrates how the ideational, interpersonal and compositional meta-functions of visual grammar can be operationalized to decode spatial scale, material texture, chromatic rhythm, visitor pathways and environmental integration. The empirical results not only confirm the feasibility of applying visual grammar to three-dimensional ceramic installations, but also provide a replicable protocol—comprising phase-by-phase annotation, meta-functional coding and inter-rater reliability checks—that bridges aesthetic interpretation, curatorial practice and pedagogical design

    In the era of digital transformation, the development of data intelligence literacy (DIL) among university foreign language teachers is crucial for enhancing the quality and efficiency of language education. This study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews, to assess the current state of DIL competence among university foreign language instructors. Through the analysis of teachers’ self-reported data literacy skills, practices, and challenges, the study identifies significant gaps in knowledge and application, particularly in areas such as data ethics, AI integration, and data-driven teaching strategies. Based on the findings, the paper proposes a comprehensive set of development strategies for enhancing DIL, including the establishment of targeted training programs, institutional support structures, and policy frameworks. The study provides actionable insights for educators, administrators, and policymakers aiming to foster a more data-literate teaching workforce in higher education

It aligns with the cultivation of students’ core competencies, addresses knowledge fragmentation, and enhances social adaptability. However, challenges persist in classroom implementation. This study proposes three actionable pathways: curriculum standard-based resource integration, contextualized teaching frameworks, and problem-oriented strategies for cultivating higher-order thinking. These pathways provide theoretical and practical guidance for educators to advance interdisciplinary pedagogical reforms

    Applying Pareto Analysis to Workplace Fatalities in Vietnam

    Ensuring workplace safety remains a significant challenge in Vietnam, where occupational accidents continue to pose serious risks to workers’ health and well-being. Despite the implementation of numerous safety regulations and interventions, statistical data indicate that thousands of workplace accidents occur annually, with a considerable proportion leading to fatalities. This study employs the Pareto Principle (80/20 rule) to identify and analyze the primary causes of fatal occupational accidents in Vietnam from 2019 to the first half of 2024. The findings highlight that traffic accidents and falls from height collectively account for over 50% of workplace fatalities, underscoring the need for targeted safety interventions. Additionally, the study identifies key contributing factors such as safety violations, inadequate workplace organization, and insufficient training. By utilizing Pareto analysis, this research provides valuable insights into prioritizing preventive measures, refining safety policies, and strengthening risk management strategies to enhance workplace safety standards in Vietnam

Reservoir damage includes physical, chemical and biological aspects, including permeability decrease, pore structure deterioration, rock fracture and fracture expansion. Preventive measures such as optimization of completion fluid system, temperature control and pressure management, as well as chemical, physical and microbial remediation are proposed to provide technical support for reservoir damage prevention and control, which is of great significance for improving oil and gas production efficiency and ensuring energy supply

    Satellite Remote Sensing Estimation of Ground Subsidence along Transmission and Transformation Lines Based on Multi-scale Geographically Weighted Regression

    In this paper, a 5km area along the 750kV Third passage project in Shaanxi Province is taken as the research area. Based on the analysis of the application and limitation of traditional two-dimensional regression model in land subsidence simulation, the advantages of multi-scale geographical weighted regression model in automatically calculating bandwidth and exploring spatial heterogeneity of impact factors are explored. Based on the geological environment of the region and the latest geological disaster data, seven influencing factors including slope, topographic relief, average annual rainfall, topographic humidity index (TWI), distance from river, distance from fault and distance from road were selected as dependent variables, and the SBAS-InSAR results covering the whole region were taken as independent variables. On the basis of evaluation factor analysis, The land subsidence results along the 750kV third passage project in northern Shaanxi and Guanzhong were simulated by ArcGIS platform. The evaluation results show that the fault distance and precipitation in the study area have great influence

This article examines three pictorial metaphors through the lenses of semiotics and cognitive psychology. First, it provides a redefinition and recategorization of pictorial metaphors. Second, it delves into the mechanism of pictorial metaphors: association, which consists of relativity, similarity and proximity. Finally, it presents three key takeaways: First, it’s necessary for us to possess a visual literacy to adapt to the image-saturated era. Second, pictorial metaphor is a means to transfer emotions and attain emotional value. Third, it is crucial for us to maintain a critical awareness of visual narratives
