MicroRNAs and NRF2: Mastering the Balance of Cellular Defense in Breast Cancer and Unlocking New Therapeutic Pathways

    No full text
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small, non-coding RNA molecules that play a critical role in regulating gene expression, impacting various cellular processes in cancer development and progression. In breast cancer, one of the key molecular players involved in maintaining cellular defense mechanisms is Nuclear Factor Erythroid 2-Related Factor 2 (NRF2). NRF2 is responsible for activating antioxidant responses, allowing cancer cells to survive under oxidative stress. However, aberrant NRF2 activation can lead to enhanced tumor growth, drug resistance, and metastasis. Breast cancer remains one of the most prevalent and deadly cancers worldwide, making it crucial to explore the molecular mechanisms driving its progression and treatment resistance in order to develop more effective, targeted therapies. This presentation will examine the complex interplay between microRNAs (miRNAs) and NRF2 in breast cancer. Specifically, the influence of miRNAs on NRF2 expression and activity will be discussed, along with how NRF2 regulates miRNA networks. Key miRNAs that promote or inhibit NRF2 signaling and their roles in cancer cell survival and treatment resistance will be highlighted. Additionally, novel therapeutic strategies targeting the miRNA-NRF2 axis will be explored to improve patient outcomes. Understanding these interactions may lead to more effective, personalized treatments for breast cancer

Oral Health Care Practices Among Pregnant Women in Pristina

    No full text
Pregnancy is a unique period in a woman\u27s life, marked by various physiological, anatomical, and hormonal changes that can significantly impact oral health. Due to the altered health condition influenced by hormonal levels, there is an anticipated increase in dental plaque formation, leading to dental diseases, particularly periodontal diseases. Currently, Kosovo lacks statistics regarding the knowledge, beliefs, and practices of pregnant women concerning oral care. Drawing from research conducted in other countries, it is expected that key factors influencing oral hygiene practices among pregnant women in Kosovo include economic status, education, and ethnicity. Materials and Methods: This descriptive, quantitative study involves a sample of 88 pregnant women. Data analysis will be conducted using the SPSS program (version 25.0). A structured questionnaire is employed to assess the knowledge, behaviors, and attitudes of pregnant women towards oral health. Results: The anticipated results will reveal the level of knowledge and oral health practices among pregnant women in Pristina, while also investigating the cultural and social factors affecting their oral hygiene

    Bone Ring Technique

    No full text
Tooth extraction is associated with vertical reduction of the alveolar ridge due to bone atrophy. In the upper jaw, changes in alveolar bone dimensions may also be accompanied by pneumatization of the maxillary sinus. These alterations are particularly common following the extraction of the maxillary first and second molars, and especially after the removal of two or more teeth in succession in the distal maxillary region. Various techniques and materials are employed to ensure adequate bone support for dental implants in these situations. In the presented case, the autogenous bone ring transplantation technique (bone ring technique) was utilized, along with immediate implant placement during the same surgical session

Energy and environmental awareness in Kosovo

    No full text
The scope of providing a public good often relies on social awareness and public support for it. This applies, in particular, to the global reduction of greenhouse gases and its importance for climate change mitigation. During the last 100 years, the use of coal has been focused to produce energy and since 1962 to produce electricity. In the coming years, energy development in Kosovo will be influenced by the standards and rules of the European energy community market. People are aware of today\u27s environmental issues and current irresponsible behavior. Today, very little is said about ecological awareness. Energy and sustainable development are widely talked about, but progress is very slow. In this paper we will present the development of energy, how its development happened in Kosovo and environmental awareness. The use of green and renewable energies undoubtedly plays an essential role in today\u27s society. The energy from these sources enables the transformation of the energy sector and significantly affects the way of life and the quality of life of the social community. The main aspects of this study are to describe the situation of clean and renewable energy in Kosovo on the basis of environmental awarenes

Key advancements include the use of point cloud data, optical triangulation, and non-destructive testing to improve product accuracy and reduce time to market. Additionally, the integration of reverse engineering into CAD and manufacturing workflows is discussed, with a focus on improving efficiency, minimizing costs, and enhancing design precision. This work highlights the impact of reverse engineering technologies in modern manufacturing and their potential for future industrial innovation

Carbon fiber and cobalt composites in the nanotechnology industry and the analysis of the new flexible structure, according to the CES EduPack method (CES Selector Grant).

    No full text
Carbon fiber and cobalt composites are advanced materials with wide applications in the nanotechnology industry due to their unique mechanical and physical properties. This study uses the CES EduPack (Granta CES Selector) method to generate and compare the structures of these composites. Through the analysis of stiffness, strength, density and cost data, the advantages and trade-offs of each material are identified. Carbon fiber composites stand out for their high stiffness and strength, but have a higher cost compared to cobalt composites, which offer greater flexibility and higher density. This detailed comparison provides a solid basis for the optimal selection of materials in specific applications, taking into account factors such as mechanical performance, weight and cost. The CES EduPack method facilitates this process, offering advanced tools for analysis and visualization of material data

    No full text
The study was conducted in natural forest reserve Blinaja located in the village of Blinaja, Lipjan, Kosovo, during the period 2021-2022. In this study the following plant categories were analyzed:woody plants, shrubs, herbaceous vegetation (annual, perennial and biennial), medicinal and aromatic plants. Using Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR), was analyzed structure of vegetation in location. Relative Frequency was calculated by dividing the frequency of species by the sum frequency of all species then multiplying by 100 percent. Relative Dominance was calculated by dividing the individual number of species by the dominance of all species multiplied by 100. The diversity of plant species in natural forest reserve \u27Blinaja\u27 in Lipjan are represented from plant families:Fagaceae,Asteraceae, Betulaceae, Rosaceae, Lamiaceae, Saxifagaceae, Ranunculaceae, Verbenaceae, Fabaceae and Oleaceae. Medicinal and aromatic plants species with the lowest Summed Dominance Ratio (SDR) in natural forest reserve \u27Blinaja\u27 are plant species:Common Fumitort (Fumaria officinalis L.), Mustard root (Alliara officinalis L.), Blue lungwort (Pulmonaria officinalis L.)

This study aims to compare weight loss in patients of different ages after 1 month, 3 months and 6 months. The study included 140 patients of different age groups such as: 19-30 years, 31-50 years and 50-62 years, who underwent Gastric Sleeve surgery in the periods of 2023-2024. Patients were monitored for weight loss after 1 month, after 3 months, and after 6 months. In this study, statistical analysis was used to compare the changes in weight loss of patients according to different ages. According to our results, it turned out that the average weight of patients aged 19-30 years before surgery was 114,368 kg, the average weight of patients aged 31-49 years before surgery was 116,604 kg, weight loss after 3 months was 24,058, while after 6 months the weight loss was greater 37.29kg. while the average weight of patients aged 50-62 years before the operation was 122.58kg, the weight loss in these patients after 1 month was 11.352kg, the weight loss after 3 months was 26.764kg and after 6 months the weight loss was greater 38.823 kg. According to the statistical data of the study, we noticed that patients aged 50-62 years lost the most weight after gastric sleeve, then we have patients aged 31-49 years and 19-30 years old patients who lost less weight than all age groups. Gastric Sleeve surgery shows positive results in weight loss for all age groups
