Physicochemical and Biological Evaluation of Aqueduct Water in Kosovo
No full textThe study analyzes the water quality of aqueducts in Drenas, Prishtina, Lipjan, and Shtime, Kosovo, in June and August 2024. The parameters assessed include physicochemical properties like color, turbidity, pH, free chlorine, chlorides, conductivity, and metal ions (Fe²⁺, Mn²⁺, Al), alongside biological indicators such as coliform bacteria. The results indicate that most parameters are within acceptable limits, reflecting overall good water quality. However, variations were noted: Prishtina\u27s low chlorine levels may pose microbial risks, and the increased chlorides and conductivity in Lipjan suggest the impact of urban runoff or industrial activities. Seasonal shifts, especially during August, influenced the concentration of certain contaminants, emphasizing the need for adaptive management strategies. Regular monitoring and targeted interventions are recommended to maintain and improve water safety across these regions

The Digitization of Public Finance in Algeria, Considering the Experiences of Some African Countries: Are There Any Lessons and Best Practices for Developing Countries?
No full textWhile the journey toward digitization in public finance is not without its challenges yet some countries are making progress in this direction. For instance, in Africa, Cote d’Ivoire, Gabon, and Kenya. It\u27s clear that to fully realize the benefits of this new technology, countries must first address their basic IT infrastruture challenges. However, once these foundational elements are in place, the potential for progress is immense. In Algeria, the digitization of public finances is part of an ongoing effort to modernize its administration. The Ministry of Finance has implemented reforms in that field. Additionally, Algeria’s digital transformation has gained momentum with partnerships, such as with Huawei, to introduce this new technology. The modernization includes reforms for better expenditure control, revenue optimization, and simplification of procedures. In the first part, the paper seeks to present the recent reforms of Algerian public finance. In the second part, some lessons from developing countries that have introduced digitalization technology will be presented, and we conclude with a discussion on the challenges facing Algeria and developing countries in introducing digitalization in public financ

This study seeks to analyze the key challenges faced by Kosovar companies during their transition to digitalization. Prominent challenges include the lack of technological infrastructure, a shortage of specialized workforce skills, and financial constraints for investing in advanced technologies. Additionally, companies encounter low awareness and understanding of the benefits of digitalization, as well as regulatory obstacles that slow the adoption of new technologies. This study will offer recommendations to improve conditions and policies that can facilitate the digitalization process in Kosovo, focusing on capacity building, infrastructure improvement, and fostering public-private partnerships
The Consequences of Providing Lower-Quality Audits for Limited Liabilities Companies (L.L.C) in the Republic of Kosovo
No full textThis study examines the implications of delivering lower-quality audits to Limited Liability Companies (L.L.C.s) in the Republic of Kosovo. In a growing economy where L.L.C.s play a pivotal role, the quality of financial audits directly impacts financial transparency, investor confidence, and regulatory compliance. Utilizing a mixed method approach, this research evaluates how subpar audit practices affect various stakeholders, including company management, investors, and regulatory bodies. The analysis reveals that inadequate audits can lead to significant financial misreporting, diminished investor trust, and regulatory challenges. Moreover, the study identifies systemic weaknesses within the audit profession in Kosovo, such as insufficient training and lack of rigorous standards. The findings underscore the need for enhanced audit quality controls and regulatory reforms to safeguard the integrity of financial reporting and support the sustainable growth of the L.L.C. sector in Kosov
Recruitment and Selection Challenges within the Public Sector in Kosova
No full textThe recruitment of a highly skilled workforce remains a critical challenge for organizations, particularly within the public sector. This study investigates the recruitment processes for civil service positions within public sector institutions, focusing on the barriers encountered in fulfilling various roles. Drawing upon data from 652 survey responses, the analysis indicates that public sector organizations face noticeable difficulties in recruiting for technical roles, particularly within Information Technology, as well as for senior-level entry positions. In contrast, recruitment for lower-level entry and administrative roles appears to be less problematic. The findings underscore the necessity for recruitment and selection procedures in public sector organizations to be executed with the highest levels of credibility and integrity. This approach is essential to mitigate any perceptions of bias or the influence of non-meritocratic factors in the decision-making proces
The Impact of Price and Advertisement on Sales Enlighted through the Coefficient of the Multiple Regression Model for the Frozen Picas Factory
No full textThis study examines how different factors, with a particular focus on pricing and advertising expenditure, affect the demand for frozen picas. Pica sales, expressed in units per week, are the dependent variable in this analysis; the independent variables are price (in euros) and advertisement (in euros). In order to support a multivariate regression analysis, data were gathered over a period of 15 weeks. The percentage of the overall variance in pica sales that can be attributed to the pricing and advertising variables taken together was evaluated using the coefficient of multiple determination (R²). This study\u27s analysis of the overall impact of including additional independent variables is a crucial component. There is uncertainty about whether the extra explanatory power justifies the unavoidable loss of one degree of freedom that comes with adding a new X variable. In order to ensure that the explanatory power of the model is not unnecessarily inflated, the modified R² measure accounts for the number of predictors. The presence of a linear relationship between the independent variables (price and advertising) and the dependent variable (pica sales) was assessed using the F-test to determine the model\u27s significance. Therefore, the study is elaborated by null and alternative hypothesis, the null hypothesis (H0) posits no linear relationship, implying that all β coefficients equal zero. In contrast, the alternative hypothesis (H1) suggests that at least one β coefficient is non-zero, indicating a significant effect of one or more independent variables on pica sales. The findings reveal that 44.2% of the variation in pica sales can be attributed to variations in price and advertising, after adjusting for sample size and the number of predictors. Further testing at an alpha level of .05 indicates that the price variable significantly enhances the model when advertising is included; underscoring the importance of both factors in predicting pica sales. This study provides valuable insights for the distributor, highlighting the critical roles of price and advertising in driving demand respectively sales for frozen picas
Regulatory and Legal Provisions of Internal Audit Republic of Kosovo Vs Republic of North Macedonia -SWOT Analysis
No full textThe purpose of the article is to systematize the shortcomings, advantages of domestic regulatory support for internal audit (IA) and develop directions for their solution, taking into account the international experience of its regulation by applying international developments in the domestic legal field. Through this research, a comparative analysis was made in terms of Legal and Institutional aspects between the Republic of Kosovo and the Republic of North Macedonia, identifying the bottlenecks and shortcomings through SWOT analysis. From the research, among others, it results that Kosovo has the advantage of continuous training on auditing or deficiencies in difficulties in the implementation of the law and the influence of the political factor. However, the risk is political instability and problems with the strengthening of public institutions. While the Republic of North Macedonia has priority in the Twinning Project (IPA) with Finland. As far as its weakness is that the Parliament does not take the reports of the SAO as a basis and Risks - the Law of Internal Control of Public Finances and the Internal Auditor are not followed by all the necessary organizations of the public secto
