    Road works, especially in the reconstruction of roads and bridges, present a high level of risk if preventive measures are not taken before the execution of the project. The road safety project, before the execution of the works, it is very necessary to audit the safety elements in order to prevent accidents in the road section of vehicle traffic. In our case, the diversion of the road due to the construction of the bridge in the direction of Pristina-Gjilan at Lake Badovci was done by the audit of the signaling project and it turned out that the signaling is not in compliance with the signaling standard, so the level of danger on the road is high

    The treatment and reinforcement of soils with the replacement and vibration method (vibro replacement) is one of the compaction techniques, through which friable or weak soils are improved with the aim of being used as a supporting base for foundations. With replacement and vibration improvement the benefits and results that can be achieved guarantee the required behavior of the foundation base. This paper presents the works made for the construction of gravel piles in the plot located in the port of Durrës, Albania. The reinforcement with ballast piles is carried out to reduce consolidation subsidence and to avoid liquefaction that is present in this construction site. It also confirms the increase in bearing capacity of the slab foundation after the realization of the reinforcement with gravel piles in the mentioned area of this project

    The integration of drone technology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in civil engineering has significantly revolutionized the way data is collected, analyzed, and interpreted in various engineering projects. Drones offer a cost-effective and efficient solution for capturing high-resolution aerial imagery and generating detailed topographic maps. GIS provides a powerful platform for managing, analyzing, and visualizing the vast amount of spatial data collected by drones. This combination allows engineers to accurately measure distances, monitor construction progress, assess site conditions, and identify potential hazards. As such, this research aims to explore the practical a pli-cation, benefits, challenges, and future prospects of using drones and GIS in civil engineering projects. The use of drones in civil engineering has gained increasing attention in recent years due to its potential to revolutionize the industry. In this study, aerial photography of the largest municipal waste dump in the state of Kosovo, located in Obiliq, Caravodicë cadastral area, was taken. All the processing was done using the Agisoft Metashape Professional program, while the analysis of the use of the results was done using the ArcMap 10.5 program. With the increasing integration of drones and GIS technology in civil engineering projects, it is evident that these tools offer significant advantages in terms of efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness

    Exploring Interpretable Machine Learning for Modeling Nonlinear Dynamic Systems

    This paper provides an analysis of the interpretable machine learning (IML) approach applied to various nonlinear dynamic systems. The study focuses on modeling the restoring force by neural networks with two input values: displacement and velocity. A parallel neural network with the proposed architecture, initialized randomly, mirrors the designed model. Both models undergo multiple training and testing cycles on identical datasets to ensure robust statistical validation. The findings demonstrate that interpretable artificial neural networks (ANNs) outperform randomly initialized models in terms of accuracy and result consistency. This research provides valuable insights into the application of IML techniques for advancing the modeling capabilities of nonlinear dynamic systems

    This research examines how safety protocols and protective measures in the workplace affect the performance of construction workers. Construction sites are inherently dangerous environments, making it essential to implement effective safety procedures for both the well-being of workers and the efficiency of operations. This study investigates the relationship between workplace safety measures and worker productivity in the construction industry. It explores how the implementation of safety protocols can influence not only worker well-being but also project timelines and overall job performance. The research aims to provide insights into the potential benefits and challenges of prioritizing safety in construction environments. The research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of safety incident records and performance metrics with qualitative interviews of construction workers and managers. Results indicate that robust safety measures, including comprehensive training programs and strict adherence to protective equipment usage, correlate significantly with improved job performance, reduced accident rates, and increased overall productivity. Furthermore, the study reveals that safety-oriented workplace cultures contribute to enhanced worker morale and job satisfaction, further positively influencing performance outcomes. These findings underscore the importance of integrating stringent safety practices into construction management strategies to optimize both human and operational factors in construction projects. The paper concludes with recommendations for policy makers and industry stakeholders to prioritize safety enhancements as a means of achieving improved performance and fostering a safer work environment

    Digital Marketing as an Innovative Tool for Recruiting Workers

    This paper’s aim is to see how digital marketing resources are being used as instruments for recruiting workers. Seeing how technology has changed every part of life today, even recruitment has now taken on a part where it involves technology more. The methodology that underpins this research is derived from primary and secondary sources, books, websites, and scholarly articles. Also, the major part, especially the validation of the hypotheses, was completed by a questionnaire which was distributed online and 100 respondents from different ages and different profiles answered. The findings of this research suggest that digital marketing resources are effective for recruiting workers, driven by globalization and technological advances. Companies must implement engaging strategies, such as social media, that are user-friendly and can evolve with artificial intelligence. This highlights the need for companies to embrace new technologies to compete. The practical implications of this research are important, as this research can be seen as a recommendation for companies that can use it for the development of the recruitment part

    Starting with the Industrial Revolution and establishing itself throughout XX. Century, especially in developing countries, the phenomenon of excessive and uncontrolled urbanization has brought rapid urban growth in many countries, resulting in urban sprawl and demand for motorized travel with severe environmental, social and economic consequences. Air pollution mainly caused by industrialization and transport, urban power and urban slums, economic and social segregation, social and economic inequality, loss of agriculture land, spatial disbalances particularly those between urban and rural areas, traffic congestions, as well as threat towards unrenewable sources are among biggest concerns urging from the given unsustainable development. The aim of this study is to examine the background of current unsustainability in urban planning and development, to examine the fragile developments that have led to the congestion point that our cities have reached, and to reveal the developments of alternatives, approaches and solution proposals that emerged as a result of efforts to find a way out of this situation. This research is part of a larger study and an extended article with the same aim, with this time focusing only on the following three concepts and approaches calling for an entirely new paradigm in planning, namely New Urbanism, Traditional Neighborhood and Compact City. These concepts and approaches will be detailly elaborated in context of alternatives to unsustainability, thus deductive and descriptive methods will be used. However, certain pictures, maps, figures and tables will be also used to better elaborate certain analyses and concepts

    This work attempts to evaluate and highlight the developments during the period 2004 - 2024 of Prishtina as a city towards the Knowledge Economy. If it has legal support in its development plans as strategic documents, as well as the driving factors or positive side effects. Methodology: According to the Theory/indicators of the Knowledge Economy in cities (V. Den Berg 2004) i) Analysis of the legality and planning documentation in support of the Knowledge Economy, II) The existing situation according to the indicators of the Knowledge Economy in Pristina; III) Questionnaire regarding the opinion of the Creative Class in Prishtina regarding the potential towards the Knowledge Economy. The final results reflect the difference of the potentials towards the Knowledge Economy during the period 2004 - 2024 of the city of Prishtina, which orient public policies towards such development: those that have spatial implication and that do not have the continuation of the goal for such development of the city of Prishtina
