International Conference on Modern Music and Audio Production
Get PDFUBT Annual International Conference is the 13th international interdisciplinary peer reviewed conference which publishes works of the scientists as well as practitioners in the area where UBT is active in Education, Research and Development. The UBT aims to implement an integrated strategy to establish itself as an internationally competitive, research-intensive university, committed to the transfer of knowledge and the provision of a world-class education to the most talented students from all background. The main perspective of the conference is to connect the scientists and practitioners from different disciplines in the same place and make them be aware of the recent advancements in different research fields, and provide them with a unique forum to share their experiences. It is also the place to support the new academic staff for doing research and publish their work in international standard level.

Pathways to Leadership in Technology: Adopting Elitism in Higher Education A simplified two-sectors model of technological innovations
No full textThis paper stresses that countries with a high elitism gap in higher education are the countries with leadership in technology, but also with high inequality, while countries with a low elitism gap have no leadership in technology. This paper presents a new framework for analyzing leadership in technology by incorporating duality in the higher education system. This paper asserts that there is not just one type of skilled workers, but two types, and there is not one type of education but two - elite universities and standard ones. The gap between top and standard universities is coined as \u27elitism gap\u27. The \u27elitism gap\u27 in the higher-education sector enables higher productivity in leading sectors. In the empirical part of the paper, we develop an index of the elitism gap, as well as an index for leadership in technology. The data show a positive correlation between the index of elitism gap, leadership in technology, and inequality in OECD countries
AI Integration in Kosovo: Exploring Operational Benefits and Workforce Challenges
No full textArtificial Intelligence (AI) integration within organizations is a crucial development in modern business practices, significantly impacting operational efficiencies and strategic capabilities. This study empirically examines AI\u27s adoption across various sectors in Kosovo, drawing insights from a survey of 80 businesses. It explores the depth of AI integration in several functions and identifies the primary motivations behind adopting AI technologies and the prevalent challenges organizations face. The findings reveal that the level of adoption of AI differs among sectors, with the technology and retail sectors occupying the leading positions. Additionally, the study discusses the opportunities and risks of AI adoption for the workforce and how organizations can benefit from this technology. The results indicate that organizations should invest in staff development and technological infrastructure for maximum AI benefits

The Hearth as a Social Category and its Significance in Vernacular Architecture
No full textHistorically, the hearth served as a social marker, classifying families based on their lineage, social standing, and economic status. Beyond its practical function, the hearth played a pivotal role in shaping traditional vernacular architecture. Its design, construction materials, and outward appearance were indicative of the family\u27s position within the community and influenced the overall aesthetic of the dwelling and accompanying structures. The enduring importance of the hearth in traditional architecture was poignantly illustrated during the war, when houses were burned by the Serbian occupiers. While the houses were destroyed, the hearths often remained intact, serving as resilient markers that guided the reconstruction efforts, ensuring the preservation of the original architectural style. However, in recent decades, these traditional criteria have been increasingly disregarded in favor of diverse, imported designs. This shift has profound psychological implications for residents, as they are confronted with ready-made hearths that often bear resemblance to religious structures, particularly Slavic Orthodox churches. The primary challenge this work confronts is the transition from conventional construction practices to a truly regenerative model, identifying numerous barriers that impede this shift towards a regenerative economy. To facilitate this transition, robust strategies are essential, guiding the move away from traditional business as usual practices. This publication compiles insights and practical solutions for advancing this paradigm shift, emphasizing sustainability throughout the entire building life cycle. A significant aspect of the research involved addressing the inconsistent interpretation of terminology related to sustainability and regenerative practices. To mitigate misunderstandings, a sustainability dictionary was created as a standardized reference tool, ensuring that all stakeholders—researchers, practitioners, and policymakers—share a common understanding of key concepts. By establishing a clear vocabulary, the dictionary enhances communication and collaboration, ultimately supporting the successful implementation of regenerative design principles in the built environment
The protection of rights of non-majority communities and their members in the Republic of Kosovo through institutional mechanism
No full textThe purpose of this paper is to deal with the rights of non-majority communities and their members in the constitutional and legal aspect, including international legislation. The rights of national minorities in Kosovo are rights guaranteed through national legislation starting from the constitution, international norms applied directly in the constitution, as well as specific legislation that regulates the rights of non-majority communities in the Republic of Kosovo. Therefore, these rights have strong guarantees, since the state of Kosovo, beside this has arranged these types of rights in an advanced manner as well as has created legal procedures, where 2/3 of the representatives of the nonmajority communities who are MPs of the Kosovo Assembly apart from the Albanian majority are required to vote for any change of the legislation Likewise, the established institutional mechanisms that protect these rights and develop strategic programs for the advancement of these rights are specifically created mechanisms for the protection and guarantee of the rights of non-majority communities in Kosovo. During the research and processing of this paper, we used the theoretical analysis, the comparison and the quantitative methods. The research explores how digital technologies and social media platforms contribute to the enhancement of communication, engagement, and influence of states on the global stage, and how these aspects can affect national security. The study analyzes how these digital tools offer opportunities for direct communication, increased transparency, and improved crisis management. However, it also addresses significant challenges associated with digital diplomacy, including cybersecurity risks and the spread of misinformation. These risks can compromise national security by jeopardizing sensitive information and distorting public perception. In conclusion, the research highlights the importance of a balanced approach to digital diplomacy, recommending strategies that leverage its benefits while addressing its inherent risks to maximize outcomes for national security
Sustainable Water Resources Management Policy in Kosovo
No full textThe purpose of this paper is to study the role of environmental policies for the protection of water in the Republic of Kosovo, the challenges in the management of water resources for sustainable development and the harmonization with the Water Framework Directive in the European Union. Water plays an important role in determining aquatic ecosystems and public health. Water pollution in Kosovo is causing damage to ecosystems, affects the deterioration of the water in rivers and is considered a potential risk for the environment and health. The work is based on the qualitative and comparative method which is based on the collection and processing of data focused on the legal basis and the Institutional framework as well as the directive of the European Union on waters. The legal basis for the protection and management of water in Kosovo is based on the Kosovo Water Law, which deals with the administration, planning, protection and institutional responsibilities in the field of water and water resources. The main document that plans the use of water resources in Kosovo is the Kosovo Water Strategy 2017-2036, this document is a legal obligation and aims to provide a sustainable and integrated development for the water field in Kosovo. The implementation of international standards for the protection of water resources preserves the health and well-being of citizens, fulfills environmental criteria and raises the image of Kosovo
