The Effect of Macroprudential Policy on Credit Growth and Financing of MSMEs in Indonesia
The global crisis in 2008 had weakened the Financial System Stability (FFS) of almost every country. This financial crisis proved that the country had not been really responsive to global change so the financial system risk management done by the central bank was not able to stabilize the crisis. The formulation of macroprudential policies aims to mitigate the bank behavior in distributing credits and financing to the MSMEs which are pro-cyclical. Macroprudential policy instruments used in this study are Loan to Value (LTV)/ Financing to Value (FTV) and Minimum Statutory Reserves based on Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR)/ Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR). In addition, there are also macroeconomic variables and bank liquidity variables. The purpose of this study is to see how the influence of macroprudential policies on credit growth and MSME financing distributed by banks. The research method used is the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) analysis using time series data from January 2010 to July 2020. The results show that macroprudential policies have not been able to suppress financing and in general the macroeconomic variables and bank liquidity also have an influence on credit and financing
Examining the Correlation between Macroeconomic Factors and Stock Indices: A Comparative Analysis of IHSG and Nikkei
This comprehensive research investigates the intricate relationship between macroeconomic factors and stock market performance, specifically focusing on the Indonesia Stock Exchange Composite Index (IHSG) and the Nikkei Stock Average. Employing a robust quantitative approach, the study emphasizes key variables such as inflation, exchange rates, interest rates, GDP growth, and oil prices, utilizing regression analysis to unravel unique patterns within the Indonesian and Japanese markets. For IHSG, significant negative correlations with inflation highlight its impact on purchasing power and corporate profitability. The non-significant relationship with the Bank Indonesia Interest Rate (BI Rate) emphasizes market resilience to interest rate fluctuations. The significant negative correlation with the Rupiah underscores the pivotal role of currency stability. Additionally, the non-significant relationship with oil prices suggests a limited influence on IHSG movements. Turning to the Nikkei, non-significant relationships with inflation, the Bank of Japan (BOJ) Rate, GDP, exchange rates, and oil prices underscore the diverse factors at play. These findings offer valuable insights for investors, policymakers, and researchers, enriching the understanding of the multifaceted influences shaping the relationship between macroeconomic conditions and stock market dynamics in Indonesia and Japan. The study contributes empirically rich insights, addressing gaps in existing literature and paving the way for informed decision-making in the complex landscape of global financial markets

The Integration of Knowledge (IoK) Methodological Approach to Reforming the Development of Islamic Economics, Banking, and Finance (IEBF) in Light of Maqasid (Objectives) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The contemporary world has reached a critical stage of development that imposes reforms at the highest and grassroots levels. Humanity realized that the current lifestyle increasingly threatens their welfare. Hence, we perceive that the Integration of Knowledge (IoK) methodological approach to reforming the development of Islamic economics, banking, and finance (IEBF) is central to transforming such a conventional approach to life. A reformed IEBF would focus on the maqasid (objectives) of shariah and the SDGs. The qualitative nature of this paper appraises the IoK methodological approach through a methodological pluralism recognizing rational and revelational sources of knowledge. This also involves methods of library research and critical content analysis. Firstly, an introduction reveals the distinctiveness of the IoK methodological approach as a shift from and based on the Islamization of Knowledge (IOK) movement. Its potential to reform IEBF becomes apparent because of common philosophical foundations like IOK’s. We highlight in brief the IEBF compatibility with and to reform via the IoK methodological approach and so attain targeted maqasid and SDGs. Secondly, a review of extant literature explains why the IOK and IE represent the solution to reform IEBF in contemporary times, to overcome mainstream economic, financial, and banking issues, and to fulfil maqasid and SDGs. Thirdly, findings show how the philosophical foundations of IOK represent the basis for future IEBF development via the IoK methodological approach. Moreover, we identify IoK methodological principles to appraise theories for IEBF development in light of the maqasid and SDGs agenda. Lastly, we conclude and provide actionable recommendations
