Implementation of Islamic Economics: A Study of Pragmatic Thinking by Charles S. Peirce, Amin Abdullah, and Kim Knott
Background: As Charles S. Pierce believed in his book "Contemporary Introductions" by Milton K. Munits. According to Munitz, science\u27s contribution to the advancement of human civilization cannot be separated. In his book Religious Studies Normativity or Historicity? Amen Abdullah noted that the pursuit of knowledge never comes to an end at any particular point but rather goes on more research and investigation are done to better understand the circumstances and conditions of human life. Novelty: The use of Maqashid Sharia in determining islamic economics ideas.
Objectives: The purpose of this paper is to discuss ideas regarding current happenings. Regarding Islamic economics in Indonesia, clearly, objectively, and analytically. Present-day Islamic economics still has a conceptual and practical gap. Therefore, using an Islamic law/maqashid sharia approach to determine the meaning of economic ideas in Islam takes a while. One of the attempts to overcome the development of Islamic economic principles in the study of the philosophy of Islamic sciences
Research Methodology / Design: This study uses a literature review methodology and is qualitative in nature.
Findings: According to Pierce, the pragmatic approach focuses primarily on the process of scientific inquiry as well as the classification of concepts and the means by which they are believed. According to Kim Knott, the process of finding meaning involves inquiry and the participation of academics from both inside and outside groups.
Implication: Dismantling critical thinking using a critical paradigm is one of the methods used in studying the philosophy of Islamic sciences to impede the growth of Islamic economic conceptions and thought

Do Intellectual Capital and Financial Performance Connect With Stock Price Volatility?
Purpose: This study aims to analyze the effect of intellectual capital (IC) and financial performance on stock price volatility
Methodology: The methodology used is a quantitative approach with panel data regression analysis. The sample selection method used a purposive sampling method with criteria set by the researchers resulting in 37 mining companies from 2014 - 2021.
Findings: The results of this study indicate that human capital, structural capital, and capital employed do not affect stock price volatility. Relational capital has a significant positive effect on stock price volatility. Furthermore, earnings volatility and return on assets show a significant positive effect on stock price volatility. The results of this study reject the assumptions of the resource-based view theory. This study has implications for practices in the capital market, where most investors have yet to consider IC in their investment decisions.
Novelty: Not much research has been done on the renewal of stock price volatility; The intellectual capital factor uses the Value-Added Intellectual Capital (VAIC) method in the form of human capital, structural capital, employed capital and rational capital; The financial performance factors used are earning volatility, dividend payout ratio and return on assets; Renewal of research objects using mining sector companies; Research data from 2016-2021
Analisis Pengaruh Keterbukaan Perdagangan, Konsumsi Energi, dan Pertumbuhan Ekonomi terhadap Emisi Karbon di Negara D-8
Carbon emissions are one of the main causes of global climate change. High carbon emissions can hinder long-term economic growth. The purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of Trade Openness, Energy Consumption, and Economic Growth variables on CO2 Emissions in D-8 countries (Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey) during the period of 1992 to 2021 using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) panel model. The results of the study indicate that Economic Growth in D-8 countries has a positive long-term effect on CO2 Emissions but has no short-term effect. The Energy Consumption variable has a short-term effect on CO2 Emissions. However, Trade Openness does not have a short-term or long-term effect on CO2 Emissions. Therefore, it is expected that D-8 countries pay attention to policies that encourage investment in renewable energy, incentives for energy efficiency, and regulations that reduce emissions from specific sectors, which can help achieve sustainable and low-carbon economic growth
