Overcoming conflicts between government and citizens in Thailand with business ethics: Using the moral point of view as a moral compass
No full textIn Thailand, despite the efforts of both the government and citizens to adhere to established rules, conflicts have become more pronounced and noticeable in recent times. This is a result of how each party defines the rules of the game and how it should be played. This study focuses on how “The Moral Point of View,” which includes Moral Judgment, Consequences of Action, Intentions, Virtues, Institutions, Responsibility and Regret, based on business ethics by Suchanek, could be used as a moral compass to reorient their relationship toward a more mutually beneficial one. Additionally, elements such as Strong Leadership, Political Will, Effective Communication, and Stakeholder Engagement are also introduced as “Key Supports,” which can serve as an ideal strategy to make the solution practical and sustainable. In conclusion, this study contributes to the growing body of literature on Business ethics by examining the role of ethics in shaping ethical decision-making in the context of government and citizens. It provides insights that can be useful to policymakers, business leaders, and other stakeholders in promoting ethical behavior in Thailand and other similar contexts
