No full textIn über 29.000 sächsischen Vereinen engagieren sich bereits Menschen freiwillig und uneigennützig. Sie übernehmen gesellschaftliche Verantwortung in zahlreichen Lebensbereichen von der Jugend- und Altenhilfe über den sportlichen, sozialen und kulturellen Bereich bis hin zum Natur- und Umweltschutz. Der Staat fördert diesen wertvollen Beitrag zum Gemeinwohl durch weitreichende steuerliche Vergünstigungen für die Vereine selbst und die ehrenamtlich tätigen Vorstände, Mitglieder und Unterstützer. Auch im Steuerrecht für Vereine sind viele Detailfragen geregelt und Besonderheiten zu beachten. Das Sächsische Staatsministerium der Finanzen gibt Ihnen mit der vorliegenden Broschüre einen aktuellen Überblick über die wichtigsten steuerlichen Bestimmungen für die Vereinsarbeit. Praxisnahe Informationen und zahlreiche Tipps sollen den Verantwortlichen ihre Arbeit erleichtern. Darüber hinaus sind die Vorschriften des Gemeinnützigkeitsrechts und verschiedene Muster, z. B. für die Vereinssatzung, Zuwendungsbestätigungen und die Überschussermittlung eines Vereins enthalten.

Implizite Theorie
No full textThe selection and evaluation of historical theoretical sources depend considerably on our interests and expectations. The importance of basso continuo remains underestimated today, while sources which seem to pave the way for chord-inversion, fundamental bass and “modern” harmony systems are often overrepresented. This article attempts to show that many didactic writings from the 16th to the 18th century contain an implicit theory, which can be highly useful today for practical exercises as well as for analysis. This implicit theory is built upon general concepts orientated towards the surface of composition and not towards hidden structural strata. The metaphor of a musical surface as contrasting to depth and height is derived from Gilles Deleuze’s philosophy and used as a global interpretation of the history of music theories. “Musical surface” here designates the intervallic design of multi-part structures, above all the design of the outer voices, demonstrated prototypically by examples from Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. The art of designing the musical surface serves as the main criterion of a composer’s craftsmanship in numerous treatises. The “theory” documented in these treatises has to be reconstructed today, as it is often not entirely verbalized. The most common didactic tool in these implicit theories is the exemplum. The practical use of exempla helps to transform an implicit into an explicit theory and as a result might also help to reconstruct historic teaching methods. This is exemplified by the discussion of passages from treatises by Christopher Simpson (A Compendium of Practical Musick, 1667) and Giovanni Paisiello (Regole per bene accompagnare il partimento, 1782). This practically oriented approach makes today’s didactics of historical musical styles similar to experimental archeology

No full textThe Versuch einer Anleitung zum Präludieren für Ungeübtere (Leipzig 1794) of the mid-German cantor Johann Gottfried Vierling (1750–1813) gives original insights on the methodology of improvisation in the late 18th century. In a concentrated manner Vierling introduces a canon of models and techniques that were deeply rooted in the “collective memory” of his time. Central aspects of his approach are explicit and systematic treatment of models, configurations of models, the explanation of figured bass texture through its contrapuntal roots, the development of melodies out of upper voices of diverse models and a treatment of form that emerges from models in an organic manner. In the present essay the didactic and systematic potential of the treatise is discussed

No full textKant’s verdict that music, as a transitory art form, is incapable of adequately occupying the mind, and Hegel’s definition of music as the language of subjective inwardness (Innerlichkeit) and consciousness exemplify the process of re-evaluation of music in philosophical discourse at the end of the 18th century and in the early 19th century. This corresponds to a paradigm shift in European cultural history which is described respectively as “Temporalisierung des Wissens” (Reinhart Koselleck), “ästhetische Wende” (Hans Robert Jauß), “historicité des êtres” (Michel Foucault) or “Krise des hermeneutischen Feldes” (Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht). In music-theoretical discourse, the hypothesis of a temporalization of knowledge is a topic that seems to correspond to the classic research fields of Foucault, Wolf Lepenies and Koselleck. According to Foucault, the order of representation is based on the transparent relationship between the poles of object and representation. In the tradition of the thorough-bass treatises of the late 17th and 18th century, the so-called règle de l’octave establishes a clear relation between the bass notes and the chords which are built on them. For this purpose, the règle provides a taxonomic order of chords on the basis of their structure, assigning them to corresponding grades of the major and minor scale. Toward the end of the 18th century, the idea that tonality is a “feeling”, that is, a product of the consciousness, appears in music-theoretic treatises. Here, the transparency of the representational order is questioned by the activation of a perceiving subject. This confirms the thesis that both the order of representation and the episteme of historicity can be traced in the development of music-theoretic discourse from the practice of thorough-bass to the harmonic theories of the 19th century. Such an analysis, however, should not be confused with a history of music theory or with a history of ideas. Rather, it shows how epistemological premises influence ideas and cultures

und kein Leben vergeblich ist, sind Kirche
und Diakonie aufgefordert, im Sinne des
biblischen Zeugnisses „Du sollst nicht
töten“ (5. Gebot) den Konflikt mit dem
Recht auf autonome Selbstbestimmung
wahrzunehmen und in diesem Konflikt zu
kommunizieren. Dabei müssen einerseits
die gesellschaftliche Debatte als auch
die jeweilige individuelle Entscheidung in angemessener Weise berücksichtigt
werden, insbesondere innerhalb diakonischer
Einrichtungen. Der Wunsch nach
Beihilfe zum Suizid stellt die Frage nach
dem Umgang mit menschlichem Leid neu
in den Mittelpunkt.
Diese Handreichung will im Folgenden
erste Überlegungen hierzu ausführen.
Auch wenn die Gesetzeslage der höchstrichterlichen
Rechtsprechung derzeit
noch nicht angeglichen wurde und
deshalb keine abschließende Standortbestimmung
möglich ist, soll eine Orientierung
gegeben werden. Sie ist dem Ziel
verpflichtet, Mitarbeitende, Angehörige,
Entscheidungsträgerinnen und Entscheidungsträger
sowie alle, die seelsorglich
Rat suchen, eine Unterstützung in der
Entscheidung um einen assistierten
Suizid zu geben und niemanden ohne
Begleitung zu lassen. Dies gilt auch dann,
wenn diakonische Einrichtungen und
ihre Mitarbeitenden sich nicht zu einer
Unterstützung in Form des assistierten
Suizids entscheiden, weil ihnen das aufgrund
ihrer ethischen Grundhaltung nicht

The Performer as Analyst: A Case Study of J. S. Bach’s “Dorian” Fugue BWV 538
No full textThis study seeks to compare the performer’s output as analyst and as performer. Sixteen professional organists were invited to perform J. S. Bach’s organ fugue in D Minor (BWV 538), also known as the “Dorian” fugue. Each performer recorded the fugue twice on an organ equipped with a MIDI console, which allowed precise measurement of performance parameters. Immediately after their performances, organists were invited to submit their own analyses of the piece by indicating its main formal subdivisions. A comparison of the written analyses indicated that, despite a fair amount of individual variation, performers generally agreed on the main structural boundaries of the piece. An analysis of the temporal profiles of the performances revealed that the largest tempo variations coincided with these structural boundaries. Although a significant correlation was found between the performers’ degree of agreement on a formal subdivision and the average magnitude of the concomitant tempo deviation, no such correlation could be found within individual performers, suggesting that written analysis may not be the optimal strategy to determine the performer’s analytical reading of a piece
