Discussion on Voltage Equalizers for Secondary Batteries including EDLCs using CW Circuit
Various secondary batteries including Electric Double Layer Capacitors (EDLCs) are widely used in various electrical equipments, etc. Among them, EDLCs offer high energy density and long life span, so various applications may be anticipated in the realm of those energy storage devices. However, since the voltage limit of the device is low, it is necessary to connect them in series or parallel. In addition, it is required that they be used in the region of their critical voltage limit or capacity limit. In order to apply them efficiently, the devices should be used with balanced voltage. In this paper, some novel voltage balancers are presented, employing a Cockcroft-Walton circuit (CW circuit) as a basic construction. Characteristics of proposed circuits are analyzed and improved especially about circuit construction strategies
Design Issues in Implementing a Regular Expression Search Engine Based on DFA
決定性有限オートマトン(DFA)に基づく正規表現ライブラリのC++による試験実装を踏まえ,実装上の選択が時間的・空間的な効率にどのような影響を及ぼすかを検討した.DFAの構築と照合に要するリソースの多くは,DFAの基となる非決定性有限オートマトン(NFA)の状態数と文字の種類の二つによって限定される.このことに着目し,NFAの状態数に依存するリソースを可能な限り事前に確保する工夫を凝らしたところ,ε閉包に関する処理の時間的・空間的なコストが低減された.また,データ構造を選択する場合,特にC++が提供するコンテナ(STL)を利用する場合には,一般的に効率がよいとされているハッシュ表や木構造のものは極力避け,動的配列を採用した.リソースのサイズが比較的小さい場合,あるいは固定長である場合には,キャッシュヒットの効率がよい動的配列が有効であることが分かった.一方で,上述の工夫は,(ε閉包に関する処理を除いた)DFAの状態数に依存する処理に対しては効果がなく,さらなる改良には,メモリープールやアロケータを導入する必要があることがプロファイリング結果から明らかになった
A Typological Study on SENTO (Public Bath) Buildings in Nagoya
This study aims to clarify typology of planning and amenities of so called “sento< (Japanese public bath facilities) buildings in Nagoya City. Though the number of sento-buildings is decreasing in Japan, sento remains an important facility for attractive life in Japanese cities in the context of urban regeneration. Through the field survey on the sento-buildings, we found the following. 1) Traditional “bandai style< sento-buildings with a single front desk and segregated approaches by gender are decreasing, while those with a single front lobby and a single approach used by both men and women are increasing. 2) Sento-buildings are losing their symmetry of planning and approach, which are inherent in “bandai style< sento-buildings, while improving amenities with an emphasis on entertainment本研究では名古屋市の31軒の普通公衆浴場を対象として、平面的な実測調査、およびしつらえの調査を行った結果を類型的に分類した。名古屋市の普通公衆浴場の実態を示す資料とし、地域的な銭湯のあり方を考察する。調査の結果、名古屋市の銭湯は内風呂の普及や後継者不足、建物の老朽化など様々な問題を抱え減少傾向にあった。また人々のニーズの変化により改築改修を行う銭湯が多く、番台式は数を減らしフロント式の割合が高まり浴室施設数は増加していく傾向にあった。浴室内の浴槽配置に着目すると、浴室空間での回遊性を重視する関西式の浴槽配置方式が名古屋市においては優勢である。しかし、改築改修により関西式や関東式にあてはまならい新たな形態の銭湯も誕生していた
A Design Survey on the Kawadoko Platform over Kifune River in Kyoto City
Kawadoko Platforms in Kyoto City are raised, terrace-style outdoor dining platforms set over the Kifune River next to Japanese restaurants. Kawadoko Platforms are temporary constructions, and are thus built and removed every day. Since these platforms are set both close to the riverside and the surface of the river, they have a remarkable nature-oriented approach. However, because of their impermanence, Kawadoko Platforms have, to date, not been regarded as research objects in academia; thus, there are no drawings showing detailed information on their construction. This paper presents a design survey of Kawadoko Platforms over the Kifune River and describes the physical/spatial relationship among the platforms and natural elements such as trees, rocks and waterfalls
