Exploring Teachers’ Perspectives on Implementation of STEM-Inquiry Integrated with Disaster Mitigation
Get PDFStudents understanding of teaching materials depended on the views and attitudes of the teacher in providing explanations during learning. This descriptive research aimed to explore teachers’ perspective on implementation of STEM-Inquiry integrated with disaster mitigation. A number of 70 participants consist of 48 females and 22 males, Physics Teacher in Java Island, Indonesia involved in filling out the questionnaire. The questionnaire instrument distributed consists of several demographic surveys (such as age, gender, education level, and length of teaching) and 18-items Likert scale survey that asked teachers’ perspective on the implementation of STEM-Inquiry integrated with disaster mitigation. The result showed that most of the teachers gave positive views on implementing STEM-Inquiry Integrated with disaster mitigation. The main challenge of the implementation is the difficulty in connecting disaster mitigation with Physics materials to appropriate and feasible teaching materials. Lack of students’ knowledge in disaster mitigation and its integration in science might become a constrain that made low students’ active participation during learning. Therefore, the teachers suggested that they increase knowledge about STEM-Inquiry learning and disaster mitigation to prepare suitable teaching materials in Physics by workshop and discussion with another teacher
Using Adobe Animated CC in Designing Interactive Multimedia Based on Cognitive Conflict on Parabolic Motion Materials
Get PDFIn reality, most students still do not understand the concepts that have been taught, giving rise to misconceptions. One solution to overcome this problem is to design interactive multimedia based on cognitive conflict. The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics and validity of interactive multimedia based on cognitive conflict. This type of research is development research using the Plomp development model. The research is limited to two stages, namely the preliminary research stage and the prototyping phase at the validity test stage by experts. The data collection instruments in this study were teacher questionnaire sheets, journal analysis sheets, self-evaluation sheets, and validity test sheets. The data analysis technique used the percentage technique and the V Aiken formula. Based on the preliminary research, the problem of understanding students' concepts was low, the learning model used was still teacher-centered, and interactive multimedia was not yet available. In the development or prototyping phase, interactive multimedia has been designed with the following characteristics: Using Adobe Animated CC, interactive multimedia is based on four syntaxes of cognitive conflict learning models. The results of self-evaluation were obtained with very good criteria. The validity test yielded an average of 0.75 with a valid category. So it can be concluded that interactive multimedia based on cognitive conflict in the parabolic motion material has been valid in terms of material substance, learning design, visual communication display, and software utilization
Increasing Self Confidence Students Of SLB Negeri Singkawang with Hydroponic Vegetable Cultivation
Get PDFABK (children with special needs) who are introverted, shy towards themselves, their self-confidence is still low and there are no ongoing activities to develop soft skills (skills). The purpose of this service activity can make ABK open themselves to a new environment, can increase the confidence of ABK, and form a sustainable hydroponic vegetable cultivation program to improve the skills of ABK through planting vegetables with hydroponic techniques. Method This program is realized through the SPP method (socialization, training and mentoring), namely through direct practice in the field. The method of implementing this program is described in the stages of implementing field activities which include preparation of the program implementing team, outreach to the program, preparation of equipment and tools, formation of activity groups, introduction to activities, creation of hydroponic media, practice of cultivating vegetables with hydroponic techniques, monitoring and evaluation of implementation. activity program. Results of activities the percentage of student responses from self-confidence questionnaires through hydroponic cultivation shows that most ABK (Children with Special Needs) in Singkawang State SLB have self-confidence with a percentage of 87.80% (Very good). From the observation table above, it was obtained that the average percentage of ABK soft skills in hydroponic farming was 93% in the very good category. While the average percentage of ABK's soft skills that are still unable to practice is 7% with a very low category

Get PDFMedia peta buta untuk pembelajaran IPS di SD sudah sangat jarang ditemukan oleh sebab itu peta merupakan salah satu media pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan untuk mempermudah siswa memahami pelajaran, penggunaan media peta buta pada mata pelajaran IPS yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa SD negeri 150 Palembang. Pengumpulan datanya menggunakan tes, dokumentasi serta teknik analisis datanya menggunakan uji t dan uji prasyarat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode ekperimen berdasarkan hasil pembahasan, menunjukan terdapat perbedaan dari hasil tes dikelas ekperimen pada Pretest sebesar 70 dan setelah dilakukan perlakuan (Treatment) hasil Posttest kelas ekperimen sebesar dengan rata-rata 80 dikategorikan tinggi, pada kelas kontrol Pretest dengan rata-rata 60 dan Posttest dengan rata-rata 70 dikategorikan sedang dengan metode ceramah, tanya jawab dan penugasaan. Media peta buta terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 150 Palembang dapat dikatakan kelas ekperimen dengan rata-rata nilai 80 dalam penggunaan media dikatakan signifikan. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa adanya pengaruh penggunaan media peta buta diperoleh Fhitung = 73,2 maka penggunaan media peta buta memiliki pengaruh positif dan pengaruh tersebut signifikan 0,04 yang berarti bahwa dk= 48 Ftabel = 5,25 maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima dan diketahui bahwa pengaruh penggunaan media peta buta diperoleh Fhitung = 3416 maka penggunaan media peta buta memiliki pengaruh positif dan pengaruh tersebut signifikan 0,03 yang berarti bahwa dk= 450 Ftabel = 1810 maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima
Application of the Self-Potential Method to Determine the Distribution of Leachate in the Manggar TPA Balikpapan
Get PDFThe Manggar Final Processing Site (TPA) is a TPA located in the city of Balikpapan by implementing a sanitary landfill system. In this system, the waste is piled up into a mountain so that leachate generated from the waste will enter the layers below the surface due to rainwater. To detect the presence or distribution of leachate below the surface, an investigation was carried out using the Self Potential (SP) Method. The results of the data processing obtained are isopotential maps. From this map, we can see the distribution of leachate based on the potential difference value. Based on the slicing data from the anomaly, the value of the potential difference between 31 mV and -50 mV is found, which is scattered towards the north. This can be indicated as a leachate anomaly
Identification of Physics Concepts in the Local Wisdom of Remo Surabaya Traditional Dance as One of the Efforts to Preserve Culture in East Java

Indonesian culture will be better known if it is integrated into education, one of which is physics learning. One of the cultures that exist in Indonesia is the Remo Dance which is a traditional dance originating from East Java. Dance is a cultural heritage that we need to preserve because culture is a reflection of a nation. This research was conducted with the aim of identifying the physics concepts contained in the Remo Gagrak Anyar Dance so that they can be integrated into physics learning activities. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with observations, interviews, and a literature study. Based on the results obtained, there are physics concepts in Remo Dance, including the material of muscle force, Newton's third law, gravity, circular motion, static balance, sound sources, and light. The results of this study indicate that there is potential in ethnoscience-based physics teaching materials and can be applied to physics learning to help students improve understanding and learning outcomes. Other local cultural studies can be carried out to facilitate contextual understanding of the material in various subjects and aim to preserve the culture of the Indonesian nation
Instrument Validation of Students’ Analytical Thinking Skills in the Natural Science Learning by Using the Rasch Model
Get PDFThe aim of this study is to validate the analytical thinking skills test instrument using the Rasch Model. The method uses quantitative research methods The essay test was used to evaluate the 85 students attending the PGMI IAIN Surakarta Study Program in Indonesia. Data analysis used the Rasch model–quest application because this model is known for its use in the item response theory. The essay test used to measure student analytical thinking skills in the natural science class was found to be valid, with an adequate level of difficulty, and most of the questions were within the range of student abilities. This study found a prototype instrument for analytical thinking skills in natural science learning through the analysis of the Rasch Model. This instrument can be used to help students measure their ability to think critically and analytically. The results can be used as a reference for instructors and researchers in designing, producing, and analyzing instruments for teaching students' analytical thinking skills in natural science learning
Learning Physics Using a Contextual Teaching and Learning Approach to Children with Physical Impairment
Get PDFThis study aims to see the effect of the Contextual teaching and learning model on science learning for disabled children. The learning devices use the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach and the PBI (Problem Based Instruction) learning model for disabled children in class X SMA which consists of the syllabus , RPP, LKPD, teaching materials and competency assessment. This research is a type of research and development using the ADDIE development model which consists of 5 stages, namely the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. This study uses data collection consisting of expert validation, observation, interviews and tests. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the learning tools that had been developed met the appropriate criteria and could be used with minor revisions. Decent learning tools were obtained from validation results by 3 validators who were test lecturers, while the effectiveness of the devices was obtained from several indicators, namely learning implementation with an average of 93.93%, student activity with an average of 86.9%. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan, menganalisis, dan menginterpretasikan prinsip kesantunan yang terdapat pada novel Istri Kedua Gus karya Anisa AE. Teori dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teori prinsip kesantunan berbahasa yang dikemukakan oleh Leech (2010). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menerapkan metode analisis isi. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tuturan dalam novel Istri Kedua Gus karya Anisa AE yang terdapat prinsip kesantunannya. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik baca, teknik simak, dan teknik catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prinsip kesantunan berbahasa yang terdapat di dalam Novel Istri Kedua Gus karya Anisa AE lebih banyak ditemukan maksim kecocokan, sedangkan maksim yang sedikit ditemukan adalah maksim penerimaan
The Effectiveness of Life Skills Technical Career Information Services to Improve Career Understanding Viewed from Career Planning Aspects
Get PDFThis research was conducted to know the effectiveness of career information services using Life Skills techniques for the career advancement of Al-Iman High School students in Magelang City in terms of career planning aspects. The research method is experimental research. The research design used a pre-experimental of one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were XII students, totalling 26 students. The sample was 8 students using non-random sampling with quota sampling technique. The data collection instrument in this study used a career planning questionnaire. The data analysis technique used the Paired sample t-test with the consideration that this study used one independent variable. The results of the effectiveness test of this study were that this career service was effective in improving student careers in terms of career planning aspects. The level of student career advancement increased after following career information with life skills techniques. This could be seen from the understanding of students' careers before and after being given career information with life skills techniques by 23% with details: self-understanding indicators 10%, communicate and cooperate indicators 28%, improve self-performance 24%, get to know the world of social work21% and strengthened through an effectiveness test using a t-test which showed -t count (-4.894) < -t table (-2.365)
