    Get PDF
This research aims to describe the profile of scientific creativity abilities of undergraduate students in the basic physics 1 course through the application of the Project-based Learning model. The sample in this research was 50 undergraduate physics education students at Madura Islamic University taking introductory physics courses. The data obtained was analyzed quantitatively and then described. The students' scientific creativity profile was obtained by administering a scientific creativity test and a student response questionnaire using the implementation of Project Based Learning. The data was analyzed using a score calculation formula, the results were categorized into very high, high, medium and low category. After obtaining the scoring, the data is interpreted in percentage form. Meanwhile, student response questionnaire were measured using Likert scale and then interpreted in percentage form. The research results showed that 83% of students' scientific creativity was still classified as low, while 17% of students' scientific creativity was classified as moderate. With details of the creative personal character profile for each indicator of scientific creativity as follows: 1) Scientific Phenomena 52.5%, 2) Scientific Knowledge 15%, 3) Scientific Problem solving 13.75%, 4) Creative thinking ability 20.4%, 5) advanced scientific product design 12.7 %, and 6) Technical product 8.7%. The results of the student response questionnaire showed that the majority of students experienced difficulty in write their initial knowledge about physics, difficulty in solving problems and answering questions based on the scientific phenomena presented

    Get PDF
This research purpose was to examine the effect of applying the guided inquiry learning model accompanied by a virtual laboratory on the results and motivation of studying physics in high school students. The chosen physics material is static fluid. The type of research used is a true experiment with the Posttest Only Control Group design. The population of this study was students of class XI MIPA at one of the public high schools in Mojokerto Regency. The sample was selected by cluster random sampling technique and assigned to class XI MIPA 1 as the control class and class XI MIPA 4 as the experimental class. The treatment was carried out three times and the next meeting was used for the post-test and questionnaire filling. Data on learning outcomes were obtained from post-test scores which were analyzed using the independent sample t-test technique, while motivational data were obtained from filling out questionnaires which were analyzed using the independent sample t-test technique. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that there is an effect of applying the guided inquiry learning model accompanied by a virtual laboratory on the results and motivation of studying physics in high school students. The results of this research are expected to be useful for teachers who experience problems in learning physics, especially in terms of the need for practical implementation

Analysis and Determination of Self-Inductance through Direct and Indirect Measurements Methods

    Get PDF
Practicum is an activity that helps students to understand an abstract concept. One of the concepts in physics that requires practicum is the concept of electricity. Inductance is an electrical quantity studied in high and vocational high schools. This study aims to determine the inductor's inductance value using several methods and analyze the most suitable method for determining the inductor inductance value. The inductor used is a commercial inductor with a color band code with an inductance value of 2.7 mH and a tolerance of 10%. Inductor inductance measurements were carried out using a benchtop LCR meter, handheld LCR meter, series RLC method, and LC resonance method. Each measuring instrument requires a frequency setting: refer to the manual for benchtop and handheld LCR meters, the resonant frequency for the serial RLC method, and adjusting the AFG (arbitrary function generator) frequency. Hence, a clear oscillation pattern is visible on the oscilloscope. The results of this study indicate that measurements using benchtop LCR meters, handheld LCR meters, and LC resonance methods produce inductance values within the inductance tolerance limits

    Get PDF
This study aims to describe the characteristics of teaching material, identify the level of feasibility, and determine the level of readability of teaching material based on guided discovery learning assisted by liveworksheet applications to improve problem-solving ability in work and energy material. The research method used is research and development with the ADDIE research design developed by Mollenda and Reiser in 2003 consisting of 5 stages, namely: 1) analyze; 2) design; 3) develop; 4) implement; and 5) evaluate. In this study only up to the develop stage. The feasibility test data collection used a questionnaire sheet with a Likert scale, while the readability test used the overlap test. The subjects of this research include physics lecturers, physics teachers, and students totaling 36. The characteristics of the teaching material developed contain work and energy material in the form of interactive pdfs equipped with discussion activities and experiments assisted by liveworksheet applications, sample problems and discussions, and evaluations with Polya problem-solving ability indicators. The results of the feasibility test of the teaching material obtained a score of 88%, indicating that it included very feasible criteria. The readability test obtained a result of 76.67%, so it is included in the criteria for teaching material that is easily understood by students. The results of this research can be utilized by teachers to teach the topic of work and energy, as well as to design and develop other learning materials that are more effective and interactive

    Get PDF
This research aims to develop an interactive teaching module for class IV IPAS content at SDN 1 Kuta, Central Lombok. The number of students is 28 sample. The R&D in this research uses the ADDIE model. Data collection used in this research include questionnaires and tests consisting of pretest and posttest. The data analysis in this research uses a Likert scale of 1 to 4. The results of the material expert validity test show an average score of 3.70 categories of very valid. The results of the media expert validity show an average score of 3.29 categories of valid. The teacher response show an average score of 3.75 categories of very practical. The paired t-test shows a difference between the pretest and the post-test score, and because the t-value found is negative, the post-test score is better than the pretest score. The effect size test is in the small category which indicates that even though there are changes, their impact on learning outcomes is limited. The interactive teaching module with differentiated IPAS content that was developed was proven to be suitable for use
