The Increase of Teacher's Commitment to The Organisation Through Servant Leadership Reinforcement of The Principal and Job Satisfaction
Get PDFThe purpose of this study is to empirically determine the improvement of teacher's commitment to the organisation by observing its connection with servant leadership of the principal and job satisfaction, with respondents being Permanent Teachers of the Foundation (GTY) of Private Junior High School in Cibinong District, Bogor Regency. The number of research samples of 183 teachers was taken randomly using the proportional random sampling technique. The method used was the correlation method. Hypothesis testing was carried out using parametric statistical analysis in simple and multiple linear regression analysis, simple and multiple correlation analysis, and partial analysis with a significance level of = 0.01 and = 0.05. This study resulted in four conclusions. First, there is a significant positive correlation between servant leadership (X1) and teacher's commitment to the organisation (Y), which is indicated by a simple linear regression equation Ŷ = 63.094 + 0,501X1. with correlation coefficient ry1 = 0.73, coefficient of determination Ry12 = 0.5361. Second, there is a very significant positive correlation between job satisfaction (X2) and teacher’s commitment to the organization (Y) which is indicated by the linear regression equation Ŷ = 56.35 + 0.552X2 with correlation coefficient ry2 = 0.66, coefficient of determination Ry22 = 0,4343. Third, there is a significant positive correlation between servant leadership and job satisfaction collectively with the teacher's commitment to the organisation, which is indicated by the equation Ŷ = 35.50 + 0.372X1 + 0.34X2 with a correlation coefficient ry.12 = 0.81 and coefficient of determination Ry.122= 0.665. Fourth, commitment to the organisation of GTY's Private Junior High School in Cibinong District, Bogor Regency can be enhanced through strengthening servant leadership and job satisfaction

Middle Management and Instructional Leadership: The Case of Natural Sciences’ Heads of Departments in South Africa
Get PDFNatural sciences heads of departments often find themselves in the middle, shuttling between one role as part of the school management team, and another as an ordinary classroom teacher whose role as subject and instructional leaders is made even more complex because of the several duties incorporated in the subject which brings together other science disciplines, with each having its own disciplinary culture and expectations. The crucial role played by this group of teachers in the area of management and instructional leadership can go a long way in determining effective output in teaching and learning. This study reports on a mixed methods approach to explore the practices of natural sciences heads of department, as they provide instructional leadership to the teachers in a multidisciplinary context of their subject. This research involved 30 participants who responded to the questionnaire and 6 purposively selected subject heads of department interviewed and observed from four districts in the Gauteng Province of South Africa. The data collected through questionnaire, semi-structured interview and observations were analysed using descriptive statistics and content analysis. The results from this investigation revealed that natural science heads of departments devise creative ways to mitigate the challenge of differently qualified natural science teachers. These study concludes that the effectiveness of heads of departments as instructional leaders is influenced by the immense pressure from the dual roles of managing from the middle, which also appear to affect the optimal implementation of the natural science curriculum

Internalization of Living Value Education Program (LVEP) as A Based of Developing Conflict Resolution Model
Get PDFViolence become a serious problem in this country. All parties including students have been involved in this swirl of problems. The phenomenon of violence in the educational environment can be minimized by internalizing the Living Value Education Program (LVEP) in learning activities. LVEP internalization is carried out as a reference basis in developing resolution models in social studies learning. This article focuses on examining (1) the process of internalizing values in social studies learning, (2) the importance of including LVEP in the learning process, and (3) making LVEP the basis for developing a conflict resolution model. Articles are reviewed using literature study. The results showed that (1) the process of internalizing values in social studies learning was carried out in order to prepare students to become good citizens. (2) LVEP contains universal values such as peace, respect, love, cooperation, happiness, honesty, humility, responsibility, simplicity, tolerance, freedom and unity which can be used as a reference in classroom learning activities. (3) LVEP can be used as a reference in developing a conflict resolution model because it contains values of peace-loving, tolerance, and upholds the value of national unity and integrit

Get PDFPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan struktur argumen paragraf argumentatif pada artikel jurnal terindeks Sinta rumpun pendidikan noneksakta. Kerangka teori yang digunakan adalah konsep argumen Douglas Walton. Sumber data penelitian ini kasuistik, dikumpulkan dari 5 (lima) jurnal terindeks Sinta rumpun pendidikan noneksakta di wilayah LLDIKTI VIII. Wujud data penelitian ini ialah paragraf-paragraf argumentatif yang diidentifikasi dari sumber data berdasarkan konsep dasar paragraf argumentatif. Dalam pengumpulan data, peneliti menggunakan metode simak, teknik baca dan catat. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini adalah teknik analisis konten. Dalam menerapkan teknik itu, peneliti melakukan inventarisasi, identifikasi, dan klasifikasi data. Data-data yang telah dianalisis kemudian disajikan, diinterpretasi, dan dibahas secara informal. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data ditemukan bahwa struktur argumen paragraf argumentatif pada jurnal terindeks Sinta rumpun pendidikan nonesakta terdiri atas dua jenis, yaitu (1) struktur tunggal dan (2) struktur dua lapis. Dalam struktur tunggal, argumen yang dikonstruksi penulis terdiri atas argumen AS (APA) dan AKV (AP). Sementara itu, dalam struktur dua lapis argumen yang dibangun penulis terdiri atas AKV (AP)-AS (APH), AA (AHP)-AS (APP), dan AS (AFH)-AA (ATT)

Get PDFABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan station rotation blended learning sebagai restrukturisasi jam tatap muka di kelas virtual sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian menggunakan studi pustaka dengan mengumpulkan sejumlah buku-buku dan jurnal yang relevan. Alat pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan jurnal-jurnal yang terdapat pada Google Cendekia atau Google Scholar. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis anotasi bibliografi (annotated bibliography) yang artinya suatu kesimpulan sederhana dari suatu artikel, buku, jurnal, atau beberapa sumber tulisan lain. Sedangkan bibliografi diartikan sebagai suatu daftar sumber dari suatu topik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa implementasi station blended learning dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dan dapat diaplikasikan dengan pendidikan karakter pada peserta didik. Hal ini terbukti dari uji statistik hasil penelitian yang menyatakan adanya pengaruh signifikasi Station Blended Learning terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. Development of Current Stick Teaching Aids to Improve Students' Generic Science Skills
Get PDFThe study aimed to develop the Current Stick teaching aids and determine its effectiveness to improve students’ generic skills. The type of research is development research which involved 180 students of class X SMAN in Blora were chosen through cluster random sampling. The instrument used to collect the data was a validated question sheet from the assessment of students’ practicum report in using Current Stick teaching aids and the observation sheet. The instruments were addressed to students from the control class and experimental class. The obtained data were tabulated and analyzed by using t-test. The result shows that the experimental class achieved an average percentage of generic science skills of 77.2%, while the control class reached 66.4%. It reveals that the difference in the percentage of generic science skills is the result of using Current Stick teaching aids. Based on the results and discussion, it was found that the development of Current Stick teaching aid is effective to improve students' Generic Science skills
Synthesis of the 21st Century Skills (4C) Based Physics Education Research In Indonesia
Get PDFThe development of life in the 21st century requires a variety of skills that one must master. Physics learning in schools has a central role in providing 21st-century skills to students. Physics learning is an integrated field that facilitates 21st-century skills and much research is being done in this field. The purpose of this research is to provide a review or general overview related to 21st-century skills-based physics learning research (Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving, and Creativity and Innovation) in Indonesia. This type of research is a literature study. The articles analyzed are articles published in Sinta-accredited national journals with publication years ranging from 2015-2020 and Scopus indexed international journals, as well as journal research fields focusing on evaluation and learning physics. The number of articles analyzed was 300 articles from national and international journals. From 2015 to 2020, critical thinking skills were the most researched topic with a percentage of 12% and 27% of researchers did not mention the physics topic studied in their research. A lot of learning research, especially physics learning, focuses on a quantitative approach in solving problems in the field of physics education in this case related to 21st-century skills. Most of the 4C skills-based physics learning research uses a relatively small sample of under 100 samples with the majority of the research locations being found mostly focused on Bali-Nusra and Java. The research subjects most frequently researched regarding 21st-century skills are high school level (SMA/SMK/MA)
