Corticotomy, Piezocision, and Micro-Osteoperforation versus No Adjunct for Canine Retraction Acceleration – A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Full text linkAIM: The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and benefit-to-harm relation of conventional corticotomy, piezocision, and micro-osteoperforation in accelerating canine retraction.
METHODS: A systematic search was conducted across PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, CT.gov, WHO ICTRP, Scopus, Google Scholar, with additional screening using NCT and study identification number. Randomized studies published between 2023 and the 20th February 2025 (last date searched) evaluating surgical interventions for canine retraction acceleration were included.
RESULTS: Twenty-eight randomized clinical trials, in qualitative review, reported mild to moderate pain and discomfort, moderate root resorption, and acceptable anchorage loss. Ten randomized clinical trials in meta-analysis showed short term acceleration with piezocision yielding higher first month mean acceleration (0.81 mm, 95%, CI 0.65 to 0.96) than micro-osteoperforation (0.48 mm, 95%, CI 0.32 to 0,65).
CONCLUSION: All three interventions resulted in a short-term acceleration of canine retraction, accompanied by mild-to-moderate adverse effects. The acceleration was statistically significant during the first month and provided the greatest clinical benefit when closing canine gaps of 5 mm or less, with only transient effects and minimal anchorage loss
Tempus utile: Nutzfrist nach c. 201 § 2 CIC
Full text linkDieser Artikel untersucht das in c. 201 § 2 CIC normierte kanonische Rechtsinstitut der Nutzfrist (tempus utile). Nach einem Überblick über Genese und Systematik des Canons wird der Ursprung der Nutzfrist im römischen Recht sowie ihre Ausprägung im geltenden Kirchenrecht thematisiert. Der Beitrag erläutert die Voraussetzungen von Unwissenheit und Handlungsunfähigkeit, die den Lauf einer Nutzfrist hemmen. Anhand einschlägiger Entscheidungen der Apostolischen Signatur werden wesentliche praktischen Kriterien verdeutlicht. Abschließend wird die Nutzfrist als Ausdruck kanonischer Billigkeit interpretiert.This article examines the canonical concept of useful time (tempus utile) as laid down in c. 201 § 2 CIC. Following an overview of the canon\u27s origin and structure, it analyzes the roots of the concept of useful time in Roman law and its application in current canon law. The article explains how ignorance and incapacity to act suspend the running of a time limit. Selected decisions of the Apostolic Signatura illustrate important practical standards. The concept of useful time is finally interpreted as an expression of canonical equity

No full text: In diesem Artikel werden die Marktgewichte im Tire-Museum, einem lokalen Museum in Westanatolien, behandelt. Die Sammlung umfasst 63 Gewichte aus Blei und Bronze (einschließlich eines Glasgewichts). Ein Teil davon wird der hellenistischen Zeit, ein anderer Teil der römischen und byzantinischen Epoche zugeordnet. Da Ephesos die nächstgelegene antike Stätte zu Tire ist, kann angenommen werden, dass ein bedeutender Teil der Gewichte aus Ephesos stammt oder dort verwendet wurde.This article focuses on the balance weights housed in the Tire Museum, a local museum in Western Anatolia. The collection consists of 63 weights made of lead and bronze (including one glass weight). Some of these are dated to the Hellenistic period, while others belong to the Roman and Byzantine periods. Since Ephesus is the closest archaeological site to Tire, it is possible that a significant portion of the weights may have originated from or been used in Ephesus

Insbesondere im protestantischen Kontext, als einer Kirche des Wortes, kommt dieser Verbindung eine identitätsstiftende, konfessorische Bedeutung zu. Doch wie kann diese Anbindung und Bezugnahme heute gelingen und kann der exegetische Methodenkanon, der hierzulande auch weiterhin eine zentrale Rolle für diese Verbindung spielt, dabei überhaupt noch etwas aus- und beitragen? Diese Fragen werden vor einem weiten homiletischen Horizont hermeneutisch diskutiert und praktisch erschlossen.
Preaching and the sacred text(s) exist in a covenantal bond. Within the Protestant tradition, as a Church of the Word, this interrelation assumes a formative and distinctly confessional significance. It remains to be considered how this covenant might today be renewed, and how its reciprocal significance can be revealed. Can the canon of exegetical methods, which in this context continues to occupy a central place in sustaining this interrelation, still offer substantive resources and make a meaningful contribution? These questions are pursued within an expansive homiletical horizon, where hermeneutical reflection opens into the work of practical proclamation
Der Sehnsucht nach Transzendenz widerstehen: Für eine Verortung von Theologie in der Ambiguität von Lebenspraktiken
Full text linkDer Beitrag verortet sich im Spannungsfeld von Pastoraltheologie und Systematischer Theologie vor dem Hintergrund eines erkenntnistheologischen turn to practice, der soziale Praktiken als loci theologici versteht. Aus postkolonialer Perspektive wird untersucht, was im Übergang von empirischer Rekonstruktion zu theologischer Konstruktion geschieht. Im Dialog mit Laurel Potters & Elizabeth O’Donnell Gandalfos „Remembering the Reign of God“ argumentiert der Text, dass dieser Übergang häufig von einer „Sehnsucht nach Transzendenz“ geleitet ist, die Gott jenseits der Ambiguitäten historischer Gewalt verortet und damit eine koloniale Trennung von Heiligem und Profanem reproduziert. Gegen deduktive, soteriologisch eindeutige Entwürfe wird vorgeschlagen, Gottesrede radikal in der Ambiguität von Lebenspraktiken zu verankern. Die dekolonialen Praktiken der Armen in El Salvador werden als theologisch relevante Zeugnisse einer „unreinen“ Erlösung gelesen, die innerhalb von Gewaltgeschichten geschieht. Eine solche Soteriologie untergräbt koloniale Kosmovisionen und eröffnet transformatorische Perspektiven für eine praxisorientierte Theologie.
This article situates itself between pastoral and systematic theology against the background of the epistemological turn to practice, which recognizes social practices as loci theologici. From a postcolonial perspective, it examines what happens in the movement from empirical reconstruction to theological construction. Engaging Laurel Potter and Elizabeth O’Donnell Gandalfo’s „Remembering the Reign of God“, the article argues that this movement is often guided by a “desire for transcendence” that locates God beyond the ambiguities of historical violence and thus reproduces a colonial separation between the sacred and the profane. In contrast to deductive and soteriologically unambiguous theological models, the article proposes a radical reconfiguration of God-talk grounded in the ambiguity of lived practices. The decolonial practices of the poor in El Salvador are interpreted as theologically significant witnesses to an “impure” salvation unfolding within histories of violence. Such an approach destabilizes colonial cosmologies and opens transformative possibilities for a theology consistently oriented toward practice
