Revalidation of an erroneously synonymized Helina species and reminder of a forgotten Lispe species from the Afrotropical Region
Get PDFHelina scutellaris Zielke, 1971 ist in den Websites von Systema Dipterorum und Catalogue of Life als Synonym von Dichaetomyia rangeri (Zielke, 1973) aufgeführt. Die Art kann jedoch eindeutig von D. rangeri unterschieden werden und ist als eigenständige Art zu betrachten. Die wichtigsten taxonomischen Unterschiede werden aufgezeigt. Außerdem ist die eigenständige, bereits 1970 beschriebene Art Lispe congensis Zielke weder als eigenständige Art noch als Synonym in den Websites registriert. Um zu verhindern, dass L. congensis völlig in Vergessenheit gerät, wird sie hiermit in Erinnerung gebracht.Helina scutellaris Zielke, 1971 registered at the websites of Systema dipterorum and Catalogue of Life as a synonym of Dichaetomyia rangeri (Zielke, 1973), is recognized as a valid species, distinct from D. rangeri. The major taxonomic differences between the two species are discussed. Additionally, another valid species, Lispe congensis Zielke, 1970 is not to be found in the two websites, neither as a valid species, nor as synonym. A revision of Medon. XI. Five new species, additional records, and the first confirmed records from the Oriental region (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae)
Get PDFFünf Arten der Gattung Medon Stephens, 1833 (Paederinae) aus der Ostpaläarktis und der Orientalis werden beschrieben und abgebildet: Medon arunicus spec. nov. (Ost-Nepal) und M. acutapicalis spec. nov. (Ost-Nepal) aus der M. apicalis-Gruppe, M. sundaicus spec. nov. (Indonesien: Java, Sulawesi) und M. sabahicus spec. nov. (Malaysia: Sabah) aus der M. ferrugineus-Gruppe sowie M. emeianus spec. nov. (China: Emei Shan) aus der M. profundus- Gruppe. Mit Medon sundaicus und M. sabahicus wird die Gattung erstmals für die Orientalis bestätigt. Weitere Nachweise von 31 Arten und Unterarten werden gemeldet, darunter mehrere Erstnachweise. Medon ist derzeit in der Paläarktis mit fünf Artengruppen und 86 revidierten Arten vertreten, von denen 23 in der Ostpaläarktis verbreitet sind.

(East Nepal: Arun valley) and M. acutapicalis spec. nov. (East Nepal: Theratum district) of the M. apicalis group; M. sundaicus spec. nov. (Indonesia: Java, Sulawesi) and M. sabahicus spec. nov. (Malaysia: Sabah) of the M. ferrugineus group; M. emeianus spec. nov. (China: Emei Shan) of the M. profundus group. Medon sundaicus and M. sabahicus represent the first confirmed records of the genus from the Oriental region. Additional records of 32 species and subspecies are reported, among them several new country records. Medon is now represented in the Palaearctic region by five species groups and 86 confirmed species, 23 of which are distributed in the East Palaearctic region.

Records of digger wasps from Eastern Siberia and the Far East of Russia (Hymenoptera: Sphecidae, Crabronidae)

Wildbienen (Hymenoptera, Aculeata: Apiformes) des Mittleren Moseltals: Die Weinbausteillagen im Klotten-Treiser Moseltal
Get PDFVon 2012 bis 2013 wurden Wildbienen in Weinbausteillagen mittels Sichtfang, Farbschalen und Malaise-Fallen erfasst. Aus 3246 bestimmten Individuen resultierten 159 nachgewiesene Wildbienenarten. Fast ein Drittel der erfassten Arten ist als bestandsgefahrdet zu bezeichnen oder von Bestandsruckgangen betroffen. Im Vergleich mit Erfassungsergebnissen aus dem naheren Umkreis deuten die vorliegenden Ergebnisse auf eine grose Bedeutung der untersuchten Weinbausteillagen als (Teil-)Lebensraume hin, die der regionalen Artenvielfalt der Bienen zugrunde liegen.In 2012 and 2013, the wild bee fauna of vineyards on steep slopes was investigated by means of hand-netting, pan traps and Malaise traps. A total of 3246 individuals was captured and identified, yielding 159 species of wild bees. Almost one third of the species registered is regarded as endangered or shows declining populations. Considering earlier results from nearby study sites, the results of this work underline the importance of steep slopes under viticultural management as (partial) habitats underlying the regional bee species richness

Get PDFDie Entwicklung der Großschmetterlingsfauna der Diluviallandschaften um Eberswalde wurde bis zum Jahre 2018 unter Berücksichtigung folgender Schwerpunkte fortgeschrieben: (1) Veränderungen im Artenbestand: Vier Arten wurden neu nachgewiesen; acht als verschollen gemeldete Arten wurden wieder entdeckt, darunter als besonders bemerkenswerte Wiederfunde die Noctuide Eremobia ochroleuca nach >60 Jahren und die Geometride Eustroma reticulata nach 33 Jahren; neun Arten des bisherigen Bestandes werden als verschollen gemeldet. (2) Ergänzungen zur Kenntnis der Biologie, insbesondere der Nahrungsökologie der Tagfalter, sowie der aktuellen Veränderungen der Phänologie. (3) Auswertung älterer Quellen, die dem Verfasser bisher nicht bekannt waren; dadurch konnte das Gesamtbild der Großschmetterlingsfauna abgerundet werden. (4) Abschließende Analyse des Durchforschungsgrades der einzelnen Naturräume des Gebietes.The changes in the fauna of macrolepidoptera of the diluvial landscapes around Eberswalde was described until the year 2018 considering the following major aspects: (1) Changes in species composition: Four species were newly recorded; eight species thought to have disappeared were rediscovered, with two particularly remarkable findings, the Nolidae Eremobia ochroleuca after >60 years of absence and the Geometridae Eustroma reticulata after 33 years; eight of the species known for the region could not be confirmed by newer records. (2) Additions are given to the knowledge of the biology, especially of the nutrition ecology of butterflies, as well as recent changes in the phylogeny. (3) Examination of older sources, which have not been known by the author before; these allowed completing the overall picture of the macrolepidoptera. (4) Supplementary information on the level of knowledge on the different sub-regions is given

(Porto Santo & Ilheu Chao), C. xerophilus desertagrandensis ssp. nov. (Deserta Grande), C. lourencoensis spec. nov. (Ponta de Sao Lourenco) und C. wollastoni spec. nov. (Deserta Grande). Eine Karte gibt die Verbreitung der acht neuen Caulotrupis-Arten wieder. Schichtphotos zum Habitus, Aedoeagus und dem weiblichen Genitalapparat werden vorgestellt. Erste molekulare Daten zu den p-Distanzen des mitochondrialen COI-Gens sichern die morphologischen Analysen ab. Es handelt sich um eine vorbereitende Studie zu einer umfassenden Revision des Genus Caulotrupis im Snudebiller.

Molecular data on the p-distances of the mitochondrial COI gene support the morphological analyses. It is a preparatory study into a major revision of the genus Caulotrupis in the Snudebiller Journal.

Bemerkenswerte Fälle von Farbpolymorphismen und Sexualdimorphismen werden diskutiert. Eine Bestimmungstabelle der Arten des Himalaya, Indiens und Sri Lankas, eine Bestimmungstabelle der aus Thailand nachgewiesenen Arten sowie ein aktualisierter Katalog der Arten der Ostpaläarktis und der Orientalis werden erstellt. Weitere Nachweise von zahlreichen beschriebenen und mehreren unbeschriebenen Arten werden gemeldet. Die revidierten Verbreitungsgebiete von 37 Arten werden anhand von Karten illustriert. Die Untergattung ist derzeit in der Paläarktis und der Orientalis mit insgesamt 124 beschriebenen Arten vertreten. Die Diversität ist am höchsten in China (46 beschriebene Arten), gefolgt von Malaysia (20), Indien (20), Indonesien (18), Thailand (13) und Nepal (12). Zyras sensu strictu wird erstmals von Sulawesi (fünf beschriebene und zwei unbeschriebene Arten) nachgewiesen. Nach Typenrevision gehören elf Arten nicht in die Untergattung; Zyras unicolor Cameron, 1939 wird vorläufig der Gattung Drusilla Leach, 1819 zugeordnet.

Lectotypes are designated for Zyras exasperatus Schubert, 1908, Z. drescheri Cameron, 1939, Z. gratellus Cameron, 1939, Myrmedonia perforata Champion, 1921, and Hygroptera castanea Motschulsky, 1861. Remarkable cases of colour polymorphism and of sexual dimorphism are discussed. A key to the Zyras sensu strictu species of the Himalaya, India, and Sri Lanka, a key to the species recorded from Thailand, and an updated catalogue of the Zyras sensu strictu species of the Palaearctic and Oriental regions are provided. Additional records of numerous named and several unnamed species are reported. The revised distributions of 37 species are mapped. The subgenus is currently represented in the Palaearctic and Oriental regions by a total of 124 described species. The countries with the greatest diversity are China (46 named species), Malaysia (20), India (20), Indonesia (18), Thailand (13), and Nepal (12). The subgenus is reported from Sulawesi for the first time (five named and two unnamed species). Based on a revision of type material, eleven species are not included in, or excluded from, Zyras sensu strictu, and Zyras unicolor Cameron, 1939 is tentatively moved to Drusilla Leach, 1819.
