Increased dispersal rates and distances in density-stressed bush crickets (Metriophera brachyptera).
Der infolge der Habitatfragmentierung eingeschränkte Individuenaustausch zwischen Populationen gilt als einer der Hauptgründe für ein erhöhtes Aussterberisiko insbesondere bei standorttreuen Arten mit geringem Ausbreitungspotential. Einige Untersuchungen an Heuschrecken deuten jedoch an, dass das Ausbreitungsvermögen standorttreuer Arten bisher möglicherweise unterschätzt worden ist. Es wird angenommen, daß bestimmte Umweltbedingungen bei diesen Arten Ausbreitungsverhalten auslösen und ihr Ausbreitungsvermögen erhöhen kann. An der Kurzflügeligen Beißschrecke Metrioptera brachyptera (L., 1761) wurden in einem ersten Schritt die Emigrationsraten bei verschiedenen Populationsdichten in \u27Mikrokosmen\u27 (Käfigpopulationen) untersucht. Der Anteil der Individuen, die aus den Käfigen auswanderten, war positiv mit der Individuendichte in den Käfigen korreliert. In einem zweiten Schritt wurden sowohl Indivduen, die unter Dichtestress gehalten wurden, als auch Tiere, die keinen hohen Individuendichten ausgesetzt waren, auf einem Fußballplatz freigelassen und ihr Ausbreitungsmuster untersucht. \u27Gestresste\u27 Individuen dispergierten signifikant schneller und weiter als \u27ungestresste\u27. Die Ergebnisse weisen darauf hin, dass Ausbreitungsverhalten induzierbar ist und auch bei standorttreuen Arten auftreten kann. A few studies on grasshoppers and crickets indicate that dispersal ability even of sedentary species may have been underestimated in the past. It is argued that certain environmental conditions can trigger and increase dispersal in such species. In a first set of experiments emigration rates of the bush cricket Metrioptera brachyptera (L., 1761) were recorded in \u27microcosms\u27 (cage-populations) with various \u27population\u27 densities. The proportion of emigrants was correlated with increasing densities. In a second set of experiments individuals stressed by high densities as well as individuals that were not submitted to this stress were released on a soccer field and dispersal patterns of both groups were recorded. Stressed individuals dispersed significantly faster and further than unstressed ones. First record of Cordyla Meigen and Monoclona Mik from the Oriental region (Diptera: Mycetophilidae).
Cordyla orientalis sp. n. und Monoclona laosensis sp. n. werden aus Süd-Laos vom Bolaven-Plateau beschrieben. Für die orientalische Region sind das die ersten Nachweise aus den sonst holarktisch verbreiteten Gattungen. - Die neue Cordyla-Spezies gehört zur Artengruppe mit gelblicher Färbung, 12 Fühlergeißeln und langem Stiel der Cu-Gabel. Somit steht sie den paläarktischen Arten Cordyla flaviceps (Staeger, 1840) und C. fasciata Meigen, 1830 äußerst nahe. Die neue Monoclona-Spezies gehört zur Artengruppe mit ventral getrennten Gonocoxiten, wodurch sie in die Nähe von Monoclona silvatica Zaitzev, 1983, M. orientalis Zaitzev, 1983 und M. rufilatera (Walker, 1837) zu stellen ist.Nomenklatorische Handlungenorientalis Ševčík, 2001 (Cordyla), spec. n.laosilvatica Ševčík, 2001 (Monoclona), 2001Cordyla orientalis sp. n. and Monoclona laosensis sp. n. are described from the Bolaven Plateau in southern Laos. This is the first record of these principally Holarctic genera from the Oriental region. - The new species of Cordyla belongs to the species group with yellowish coloration, 12 flagellomeres and long stem of Cu-fork, and is thus most closely related to the Palaearctic Cordyla flaviceps (Staeger, 1840) and C. fasciata Meigen, 1830. Anthobium- und Deliphrosoma-Arten und -Unterarten der Forschungs- und Sammelreise 2000 nach Bulgarien und Anmerkungen zu zwei anderen Arten der Balkanhalbinsel (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Omaliinae).
Anthobium belasizaense sp. n. aus dem Belasiza-Gebirge, Deliphrosoma slaviankaense sp. n. aus dem Slavianka-Gebirge, beide in Südwest-Bulgarien, und Deliphrosoma prolongatum komense subsp. n. aus dem Kom-Massiv des Balkan-Gebirges in Nordwest-Bulgarien werden beschrieben. Lathrimaeum kuehnelti Scheerpeltz, 1963 syn. n. ist ein Synonym von Anthobium melanocephalum (Illiger, 1794). Lathrimaeum knappei Scheerpeltz, 1961 syn. n. ist ein Synonym von Anthobium ganglbaueri (Luze, 1905). Anthobium melanocephalum (Illiger, 1784) wird zum ersten Mal aus Bulgarien gemeldet. Deliphrosoma mandli (Scheerpeltz, 1937) wurde zum ersten Mal sowohl im Weschen-Massiv als auch im Kom-Massiv des Balkan-Gebirges nachgewiesen. Deliphrosoma bulgaricum Zerche, 1998, beschrieben aus dem Rila-Gebirge, wird auch aus dem Midschur-Massiv des Balkan-Gebirges gemeldet. Für Deliphrosoma prolongatum australe Zerche, 1998, Anthobium atrocephalum (Gyllenhal, 1827) und Anthobium ganglbaueri (Luze, 1905) wird weiteres Material mitgeteilt. Ein Katalog der bulgarischen Deliphrosoma-Arten und -Unterarten wird vorgelegt. Es werden Anmerkungen zu Deliphrosoma angulatum Assing & Wunderle (in Druck) and Deliphrosoma fratellum (Rottenberg, 1874) gemacht und für beide Arten zusätzliche Funde mitgeteilt. A catalogue of the Bulgarian Deliphrosoma species and subspecies is presented. The spatial distribution and plant specificity of Neuropterida in different forest sites in Southern Germany (Raphidioptera and Neuroptera).
In Wäldern unterschiedlicher Struktur wurde die Neuropteriden-Fauna mit Fallen im Kronenraum sowie in Bodennähe erfaßt. Die fünf Wälder bilden einen Gradienten hinsichtlich der Baumartenzusammensetzung, der vom fichtendominierten Wirtschaftswald über Wirtschaftswälder mit zunehmendem Laubholzanteil bis hin zu einem ungenutzten Laubwald reicht.
In den Jahren 1995 bis 1997 wurden insgesamt 1396 Neuropterida aus 44 Arten der Familien Raphidiidae, Coniopterygidae, Hemerobiidae und Chrysopidae gefangen. Die meisten Individuen und Arten traten in Lufteklektoren im Kronenraum auf. Die Artenzusammensetzung unterschied sich sowohl zwischen den Wäldern als auch zwischen den Baumarten. Die meisten Arten wurden auf Eiche (Quercus petraea) gefangen, gefolgt von Lärche (Larix decidua), Fichte (Picea abies) und Buche (Fagus sylvatica). 18 Arten traten in den Fängen selten auf. The sites form a gradient regarding the composition of the tree species ranging from a spruce dominated forest, mixed forests with increasing percentages of decidous trees to a stand with oak and beech only.
A total of 1396 Neuropterida were caught between 1995 to 1997 representing 44 species of Raphidiidae, Coniopterygidae, Hemerobiidae and Chrysopidae. Most species and specimens were caught with flight interception traps in the crown stratum. The assemblage of species differed from site to site and between tree species over all sites. Most species were caught on Quercus petraea followed by Larix decidua, Picea abies and Fagus sylvatica in a decreasing order. Eighteen species were seldom encountered. Taxonomische Studien zur Hydrophiliden-Gattung Enochrus Thomson, 1859. 2. Teil : Die afrikanischen Arten der Untergattung Methydrus Rey, 1885. A: Die Enochrus meracus-Gruppe (Coleoptera, Hydrophilidae).
In der Fortsetzung der taxonomischen Studien zur Hydrophiliden-Gattung Enochrus Thomson wird in vorliegendem 2. Teil die Enochrus meracus-Gruppe revidiert und um 3 neue Arten (ituriensis, melinus, mergus) aus Afrika erweitert. Revision der von Johann Christian Fabricius beschriebenen Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera).
Fabricius hat 341 Taxa der Artgruppe in den Gattungen Ichneumon Linnaeus, Cryptus Fabricius, Bassus Fabricius, Pimpla Fabricius, Joppa Fabricius, Banchus Fabricius und Ophion Fabricius neu beschrieben oder benannt. Alle Taxa, die zur Familie Ichneumonidae (s. str.) gehören, werden überprüft, 159 Taxa der Ichneumonidae aus der Westpaläarktis werden revidiert, für 79 Arten werden Lectotypen festgelegt, and 49 neue Synonymien von Artnamen werden angegeben. Peltastes Illiger ist ein älteres Synonym von Tylopius Townes & Townes. Ein neuer Name, Lissosculpta albopicta nom. n., wird für das jüngere Homonym Ichneumon albatorius Fabricius gegeben. A revision of Callicerus Gravenhorst, 1802, Pseudosemiris Machulka, 1935, and Saphocallus Sharp, 1888 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae, Aleocharinae, Athetini).
Die Typen und weiteres Material der Arten der Gattungen Callicerus Gravenhorst, Pseudosemiris Machulka und Saphocallus Sharp werden revidiert. Auf der Grundlage eines morphologischen Vergleichs unter Berücksichtigung der wahrscheinlich nahverwandten Taxa Aloconota Thomson, 1858 und Disopora Thomson, 1859 werden Callicerus, Pseudosemiris und Saphocallus als distinkte Gattungen betrachtet und redeskribiert. 7 valide Callicerus-, 7 Pseudosemiris-Arten sowie eine Art der Gattung Saphocallus werden erkannt und beschrieben: C. obscurus Gravenhorst, C. muensteri Bernhauer, C. atricollis (Aubé), C. appenninus sp. n., C. sparsicollis Bernhauer, C. fulvicornis Eppelsheim, C. rigidicornis (Erichson), P. kaufmanni (Eppelsheim), P. breiti Scheerpeltz, P. circassica Fagel, P. fulgida sp. n., P. granulosa Fagel, P. stricticornis Fagel, P. zanettii sp. n. und S. parviceps Sharp. P. velox Jablokow-Khnzorian wird als species dubia betrachtet. Sowohl die Gattung als auch H. toroenensis (Bernhauer), comb. n. werden redeskribiert. Für Callicerus obscurus Gravenhorst wird ein Neotypus, für Calodera atricollis Aubé, Callicerus muensteri Bernhauer, C. obscurus var. pedemontanus Baudi, C. clavatus Rottenberg, C. sparsicollis Bernhauer, C. fulvicornis Eppelsheim und C. kaufmanni Eppelsheim werden Lectotypen designiert.
Die Differentialmerkmale aller untersuchter Gattungs- und Artengruppentaxa sowie die Ergebnisse morphometrischer Analysen werden illustriert. Die Diagnosen werden durch Angaben zur intraspezifischen Variabilität und zur Unterscheidung von ähnlichen Arten sowie durch Bestimmungstabellen für die Arten der Gattungen Callicerus und Pseudosemiris ergänzt. Die verfügbaren Daten zur Verbreitung und Bionomie werden ausgewertet. Die Arten der Gattungen Callicerus und Pseudosemiris sind danach univoltin; die Fortpflanzungsperiode beginnt im Frühjahr, und die Präimaginalentwicklung ist im Frühsommer abgeschlossen. Reproduktion und Überwinterung finden offenbar in einem unterirdischen, bisher aber unbekannten Habitat statt. Dies würde erklären, warum praktisch alle Arten selten bis extrem selten nachgewiesen wurden. Die Phänologien von C. obscurus und C. rigidicornis werden durch Diagramme veranschaulicht. The descriptions are complemented by remarks on intraspecific variation, by comparative notes, and by keys to the species of Callicerus and Pseudosemiris. The available data on the distribution and bionomics of the species are compiled. Ecological evidence and collection data suggest that species of Callicerus and Pseudosemiris are univoltine, with reproduction and pre-imaginal development taking place from early spring to early summer, and apparently reproduce and hibernate in an unknown cryptic habitat, which would also explain the the fact that records of practically all species are rare to extremely rare. Eine neue Art der Eusphalerum robustum-Gruppe von der Balkan-Halbinsel (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae, Omaliinae, Eusphalerini).
Eusphalerum zanettii sp. n. aus Blüten von Primula veris auf der Maleschevska Planina (locus typicus) und aus Blüten von Primula elatior vom Nord-Teil des Pirin-Gebirges, beide in Südwest-Bulgarien, sowie von Mavrovo in der Republik Mazedonien und von der Vlaši Planina in Bosnien-Herzegowina wird beschrieben und mit den verwandten Arten Eusphalerum robustum (Heer, 1839), E. morator Zanetti, 1986 und E. kahleni Zanetti, 1986 verglichen. Der Aedoeagus, das Kopulations-Sklerit des Aedoeagus und die Neben-Sklerite des Weibchens der neuen Art werden abgebildet. Es werden auch die Kopulations-Sklerite der Vergleicharten abgebildet. Für zwei Vergleichsarten wird zusätzliches Material mitgeteilt. Afrotizea gen. nov. from tropical Africa (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Galerucinae).
Im Rahmen einer umfangreichen Revision afrotropischer Galerucinae, die im letzten Katalog als \u27Monoleptites\u27 (Wilcox 1973) zusammengefasst wurden, fanden sich viele Arten, die phylogenetisch nicht eng mit den bisher beschriebenen Gattungen Candezea Chapuis, 1879, Monolepta Chevrolat, 1837 oder Afrocrania Hincks, 1949 verwandt sind. Eine dieser Arten ist Candezea mashuana Jacoby, 1895 (= Candezea annulicornis Jacoby, 1906; syn. nov.), für die hier Afrotizea gen. nov. aufgestellt und beschrieben wird.
