Native Speakers’ Judgments of Non-native Speech in Japanese: Politeness in Sales Talk
No full textapplication/pdfResearch into native speakers’ judgments of politeness in non-native speech provides useful information for teaching politeness in a foreign/second language and developing teaching materials. However, as Enomoto and Marriott (1994) point out, there are few studies addressing this topic. In this paper, Japanese native speakers’ judgments of politeness in non-native speech in a speech event of sales are examined. Based on a five-point scale, forty adult Japanese women in Japan subjectively evaluated politeness in the speech performance of two non-native speaker sales clerks. Those two speakers were intermediate-level learners of Japanese-as-a-second-language, but at somewhat different levels of proficiency. It was found that non-verbal or paralinguistic features of speech were significant factors in the judgments. In terms of use of honorifics, the percentage of honorific expressions in the more proficient learner’s total utterances was lower than that in the less proficient one’s. It was found that native speakers judged the less proficient speaker more polite than the more proficient speaker. The ratio of the number of honorific expressions to the total number of utterances may affect the judgments of politeness. On the other hand, the native speakers judged the more fluent speaker better as a sales clerk. Discussion of Bowing in Judo and the internationalization of Budo
No full textapplication/pdfThe purpose of the present study was to identify the universal meaning of bowing and the bowing procedure in world judo by clarifying the original aim and meaning in Japanese judo. Furthermore, this study identifies some serious controversies regarding the history of bowing in judo. In Japanese judo, bowing has the following three purposes: to show respect and appreciation, to show self-control, and to show respect for sacredness. Among these recognized purposes, bowing to show self-control is unique to budo, and is the main reason why it is necessary to follow the proper bowing procedure. The current forms of bowing in judo were strongly influenced by the Bowing Procedure Guidelines, published in 1942. However, to date, different styles have also become acceptable. After experiencing some religious and legal challenges in its history, the International Judo Federation (IJF) defined the meaning of bowing as a way to show respect, appreciation, and self-control. This definition included no sacred meaning and avoided mention of any religious meaning. Although the forms of bowing in international judo are the same as those in japan, a controversy arose regarding where to bow when entering competition halls. After deliberation, it was decided that some bows should not be enforced by the official rules because there was no compelling reason. The traditions of judo must be respected; however, traditions without universal value cannot survive in the modern world. No full textapplication/pdf合唱活動は，体をいっぱいに使ってひびきのある豊かな声を出すという，身体的動きを伴う精神的な活動であり，楽しくかつ充実感に浸ることができるような展開であることが望ましい。しかし，学校現場では，身体的なほぐしもなしで歌う活動に入り，その結果，声があまり出ず，子どもが取り組みに消極的になってしまう様子も見られる。 本研究は，このような問題を踏まえるとともに，いきいきとした合唱活動のあり方を求め，合唱活動の展開に新しい考え方による方法の導入を試みたものである。この方法とは，小中学校の体育・保健体育科の現行学習指導要領に提示されている「体ほぐしの運動」の内容を参考にしたものである。今回の研究では，「体ほぐしの運動」のねらいの中の，仲間との交流という考え方に焦点をあて， とりわけ中学校の合唱活動に活用できるものを試行した。本論文は、『鹿児島大学教育学部研究紀要．教育科学編第58巻（2007年）』に掲載された『合唱活動における「体ほぐしの運動」の一試案』を、『研究論文集－教育系・文系の九州地区国立大学間連携論文集－』に再投稿し、査読結果に従って内容修正し、受理されたものである。journal articl

The evaluation is based upon "time optimization" which provides the innovative progress of management activities. The components forming this catchword are integrated as "Agility of Management Performances" and this is the central target concept of business process innovation. The progress of IT provides some new system architecture ("Web2.0", "SNS", "UBIQUITOUS", etc). Going along these currents, it is assumed that modern management system shall be re-built as "High degree distributed business system". A study of relationship between aggression against oneself and others and narcissistic personality in adolescence
No full textapplication/pdf本研究の目的は，青年期における自他への攻撃性の相違を明確にし，自己愛傾向との関連を検討することであった。第Ⅰ研究では大学生45名を対象として，自由記述の質問紙を施行し，自他への攻撃性における様相の違いを明らかにした。第Ⅱ研究では，自他への攻撃性と自己愛傾向との関連を詳細に検討するため，大学生328名を対象として自他への攻撃性質問紙と小塩(1998a)の自己愛人格目録短縮版(NPI-S)を用いた質問紙調査を行った。得られたデータを自己愛傾向得点(NPI-S得点)によって4群(過敏型・自己愛傾向High/Low群，無関心型・自己愛傾向High/Low群)に分け，攻撃性得点を従属変数として分散分析を行った。その結果，過敏型自己愛傾向は，自身への攻撃性である｢自責感｣や「刺激欲求」に影響していることが示された。一方，無関心型自己愛傾向は，自己主張が強く他人のことは気にかけないといった他者への攻撃性である｢積極的行動｣に大きく影響していることが示された。つまり自他への攻撃性には自己愛傾向が大きく関連しているといえる。加筆修正版は、「九州大学心理学研究」に投稿した論文を、九州地区国立大学間の連携に係るリポジトリ編集委員会による査読結果報告書に従って加筆修正し、「研究論文集：教育系・文系の九州地区国立大学間連携論文集」vol.2(1)に採択されたものである。journal articl
