Validity and Reliability of the Scale for Perceptions of Love and Sex in a Greek Population.
Sexuality is often perceived as either a result or a prerequisite of love, or as working in tandem with love within romantic relationships. Hendrick and Hendrick (2002) developed a measuring tool capturing the lay perceptions of the love-sex link. The PLSS (Perceptions of Love and Sex Scale) comprises four themes/subscales: a) Love is Most Important, b) Love Comes Before Sex (referred to as “love themes”), c) Sex is Declining, and d) Sex Demonstrates Love (referred to as “sex themes”). We examined the validity and reliability of the PLSS in the Greek context. Relationship Satisfaction was employed as the criterion variable in examining predictive validity for satisfaction with the relationship. Participants were N=631 individuals (18-66 years old). Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses revealed that the PLSS maintained its original fourfold structure in the Greek population, as in the USA (Hendrick Hendrick, 2002) and Portugal (Neto, 2012). The PLSS sex themes correlated more strongly with relationship satisfaction than love themes. Specifically, Sex is (not) Declining, Love is Most Important, and Sex Demonstrates Love predicted satisfaction. Overall, the study corroborated the validity and reliability of the PLSS in the Greek context. The scale can be useful in studies of the various aspects of intimate relationships in the Greek context

Saint Clement of Ahrida in the Greek TraditionIn this study, we focus on the two Lives of Saint Clement and continue with the Byzantine hymnological cycle in honor of Saint Clement. We then proceed to examine the post-Byzantine tradition of iconography of Saint Clement, also presenting Saints Cyril and Methodius, who were responsible for the cultural enlightenment of the Slavs. In Hagia Sophia, Saint Cyril is depicted as the founder of a cultural work, which was continued by Saint Clement, who is portrayed next to him. The third figure in the depiction of the hierarchs, which is now significantly damaged, is Saint Methodius. In our research, this composition is interpreted as a procession of teachers of Christianity and culture in the wider region, within the framework of the political perspective of the Archbishops of Ahrida, who sought to present themselves as their successors. Also, we describe Saint Clement of Ahrida in iconographic depictions of the Seven Saints. The first common composition of the two Enlighteners of the Slavs and their disciples appears in 1612 at the Church of the Virgin Mary in Slivnica, Prespa. Here, a hierarchical presentation of the saints is observed, depicted from left to right in the following order: Saint Angelarius as a monk, Saint Gorazd as a bishop, Saint Clement as a bishop, the two Thessalonian brothers (Cyril and Methodius) as bishops, and Saints Naum and Savas as monks. The same depiction, with new elements, is found in the eastern section of the northern apse of the Church of Saint Nicholas in Drača, near Kragujevac, Serbia. This painting, dated to 1735, is the work of painters from the region of Moscopole. The representation is closely connected to the heightened veneration of the Seven Saints during the tenure of Archbishop Joasaph of Ahrida (1718–1745).Finally, we focus on the publication of the liturgical service book (Akolouthia) of Saint Clement of Ahrida from Moscopolis in 1742

Non semel nec bis, sed crebro ad sepulchrum domini cucurrisse (Hier. Epist. 55,4): Ambrogio, Gerolamo, Agostino e altri autori latini alle prese con le diverse tradizioni sulle mirofore
This article examines the presence and treatment of the myrrh-bearing women in Latin Christian literature, with particular focus on Ambrose, Jerome, and Augustine. Although the Gospels mention women bringing spices to the tomb, Latin authors seldom emphasize the significance of this act. Instead, they primarily address the harmonization of the canonical discrepancies concerning the resurrection accounts, often downplaying the women’s role as bearers of unguents. Special attention is given to the influence of Eusebius’ Quaestiones ad Marinum, particularly in the writings of Ambrose and Jerome, who draw on his reconciling strategies while diverging in tone and conclusions. The article also explores how these authors negotiate the tension between the theological significance of the female presence at the tomb and traditional views on female nature, often invoking Eve as a typological counterpart. It highlights Jerome’s emphasis on the psychological fragility of the Magdalene, Augustine’s rhetorical and narrative harmonization strategies in De consensu evangelistarum, and the uniquely polemical, anti-feminine readings offered by Peter Chrysologus. These approaches may reflect contemporary debates over the role of women within the Christian community.
The publishing adventure of a late Byzantine homily: The Homily on the Presentation of the Theotokos by Neilos, Metropolitan of Rhodes
This study is a critical edition of the two homilies on the Presentation of the Theotokos by Neilos, Metropolitan of Rhodes (1350-1437), based on his two autograph manuscripts: Mosquensis gr. 434 (492) ff. 538-561v and Parisinus gr. 1276, ff. 216-223v. The differences between the two versions of the homily, both in structure and in the presentation of the subject matter, are so evident in certain passages that it is difficult to reconstruct the full text of the two homilies from the unified version of Ρarisinus. Nevertheless, the author's effort to revise and reshape his material to serve different purposes is undeniable. Moreover, the various forms of the homily presented attest to the enduring vitality of 14th-century Byzantine theological literature in the Latin-ruled regions

Towards Triangulating Epistemology of Narrative Experience
Stories people tell each other are fundamental constituents of shared cultures, such as oral traditions, texts, algorithms, and audiovisual artefacts. While there is a body of literature elaborating on how stories are shared, how these stories first emerge deep in an individual human mind is still largely an unexplored area. To suggest a way to access the preconscious roots of mediated experience, we introduce an epistemology that makes iterative cross-references between three different manifestations of mediated experience and in this manner contributes to the explanatory depth of each: 1) experience as it is self-indicated by first-person, 2) as it is mediated to second persons, and 3) how it is observable as psycho-physiological activity in all involved persons. We focus on narration as a universal sense-making function that organizes and articulates individual experience all the way to communicative and cultural manifestations of experience. Focused to experience of film narration in particular, we assume that each of the following methodologies gives access to one of the mentioned manifestations of experience: self-reported descriptions,, annotations of film narration, and neurophenomenology and its specific film-focused subdiscipline, neurocinematics. We maintain that no two out of these suffice to explain each other but a third is always needed for contextualized and holistic understanding. Theoretically, our approach is based on the conceptualization of mind as a fully integrated system, part and parcel with both its body and environment
An Impatience Culture? Technology, Habits, and the Affective Mind in Contemporary Media Experience
In this article, from the perspective of media theory, I will discuss the often debated issue of impatience, which many commentators identify as a distinctive response mode of our times. I will refer to the contemporary media landscape, which comprises entertaining contents, platforms, AI algorithms, and digital mobile devices; I will regard the widespread content fruition via smartphones as a very significant phenomenon in the present context; and I will focus on the impact of technologies on human affectivity, which allows to understand impatience as a responsive disposition or habit, other than just a common behavior. To understand this impact – which manifests itself, for example, in problematic or addictive internet and smartphone uses, and which may even permeate everyday “offline” interactions – it will be necessary to understand users’ experience by considering the ongoing interplay between the different levels of consciousness that characterize it. Drawing on affective, enactive, and embodied neuropsychological and theoretical approaches to the human mind, I propose overcoming an overly rigid distinction between “mindless” versus “mindful” behaviors. Therefore, I will comprehend habits by focusing on the affective mind, which is characterized by its own specific level of instinctual “awareness” – one that lies and swarms below conscious and cognitive awareness, but above the level of generalized arousal or unconscious automatisms
IMPACT OF POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS ASSOCIATED WITH COVID-19 AFTER TWO YEARS OF THE PANDEMIC: DIFFERENCES IN LATENT MEANS IN ECUADORIAN ADULTS
The aim of the present study was to estimate the impact of COVID-19 on post-traumatic stress symptoms (PTSS) in a sample of Ecuadorian adults two years after the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 516 individuals were surveyed (55.2% women), aged between 18 and 65 years old (M = 24.33; SD = 8.98), 64% of which reported that they had been infected with COVID-19 during the pandemic period. The Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Symptom Severity Scale-Revised (EGS-R) was used. Latent means using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and cross-sectional techniques were applied. The results showed that the group that had been infected presented more PTSS than the non-infected group with significant differences (p .05) and a small effect size (d = 0.22). The group that had experienced the infection or death of family members showed more PTSS than the group that had not, with significant differences (p .05) and a moderate effect size (d = 0.40). The findings suggest that COVID-19 had an impact as a traumatic stressor whose presence was still evident through PTSS among those who had experienced the disease directly or indirectly, the latter group being the most affected
EXPLORING PATERNAL MENTAL HELATH DIMENSIONS: AN EXPLORATORY STUDY FOCUSING ON PATERNAL PRESENCE DURING LABOUR
This pilot study aimed to investigate dimensions of paternal mental health while becoming a father during the COVID-19 pandemic, by focusing on paternal presence during labour. Data was collected online by using a set of demographic questions and psychological scales such as the Perinatal Anxiety Screening Scale (PASS), the Mother-to-Infant Bonding Scale (MIBS) adapted for fathers, and the Perinatal Posttraumatic Stress Questionnaire (PPQ-II). One hundred-twelve fathers participated in this study and the main findings suggest that fathers experienced moderate levels of perinatal anxiety and difficulties bonding with the infant. Fathers who were present during labour manifested higher levels of acute and social anxiety whereas those who were not, experienced higher levels of COVID-19 related stress. Difficult bonding was associated with three dimensions of perinatal stress and with PTSD symptoms such as avoidance and hyperarousal. It was concluded that fathers need to be empowered through family educational programs
