Informacijos saugos valdymo karkasas smulkiam ir vidutiniam verslui
Information security is one of the concerns any organization or person faces. The list of new threats appears, and information security management mechanisms have to be established and continuously updated to be able to fight against possible security issues. To be up to date with existing information technology threats and prevention, protection, maintenance possibilities, more significant organizations establish positions or even departments, to be responsible for the information security management. However, small and medium enterprise (SME) does not have enough capacities. Therefore, the information security management situation in SMEs is fragmented and needs improvement.
In this thesis, the problem of information security management in the small and medium enterprise is analyzed. It aims to simplify the information security management process in the small and medium enterprise by proposing concentrated information and tools in information security management framework. Existence of an information security framework could motivate SME to use it in practice and lead to an increase of SME security level.
The dissertation consists of an introduction, four main chapters and general conclusions. The first chapter introduces the problem of information security management and its’ automation. Moreover, state-of-the-art frameworks for information security management in SME are analyzed and compared.
The second chapter proposes a novel information security management framework and guidelines on its adoption. The framework is designed based on existing methodologies and frameworks.
A need for a model for security evaluation based on the organization’s management structure noticed in chapter two; therefore, new probability theory-based model for organizations information flow security level estimation presented in chapter three. The fourth chapter presents the validation of proposed security evaluation models by showing results of a case study and experts ranking of the same situations. The multi-criteria analysis was executed to evaluate the ISMF suitability to be applied in a small and medium enterprise. In this chapter, we also analyze the opinion of information technology employees in an SME on newly proposed information security management framework as well as a new model for information security level estimation.
The thesis is summarized by the general conclusions which confirm the need of newly proposed framework and associated tools as well as its suitability to be used in SME to increase the understanding of current information security threat situation.Dissertatio
Biosignalų požymių regos diskomfortui vertinti išskyrimas ir tyrimas
Comfortable stereoscopic perception continues to be an essential area of research. The growing interest in virtual reality content and increasing market for head-mounted displays (HMDs) still cause issues of balancing depth perception and comfortable viewing. Stereoscopic views are stimulating binocular cues – one type of several available human visual depth cues which becomes conflicting cues when stereoscopic displays are used. Depth perception by binocular cues is based on matching of image features from one retina with corresponding features from the second retina. It is known that our eyes can tolerate small amounts of retinal defocus, which is also known as Depth of Focus. When magnitudes are larger, a problem of visual discomfort arises.
The research object of the doctoral dissertation is a visual discomfort level. This work aimed at the objective evaluation of visual discomfort, based on physiological signals. Different levels of disparity and the number of details in stereoscopic views in some cases make it difficult to find the focus point for comfortable depth perception quickly. During this investigation, a tendency for differences in single sensor-based electroencephalographic EEG signal activity at specific frequencies was found. Additionally, changes in eye tracker collected gaze signals were also found. A dataset of EEG and gaze signal records from 28 control subjects was collected and used for further evaluation.
The dissertation consists of an introduction, three chapters and general conclusions. The first chapter reveals the fundamental knowledge ways of measuring visual discomfort based on objective and subjective methods. In the second chapter theoretical research results are presented. This research was aimed to investigate methods which use physiological signals to detect changes on the level of sense of presence. Results of the experimental research are presented in the third chapter. This research aimed to find differences in collected physiological signals when a level of visual discomfort changes. An experiment with 28 control subjects was conducted to collect these signals.
The results of the thesis were published in six scientific publications – three in peer-reviewed scientific papers, three in conference proceedings. Additionally, the results of the research were presented in 8 conferences.Dissertatio
Automated Expert System Knowledge Base Development Method for Information Security Risk Analysis
Information security risk analysis is a compulsory requirement both from the side of regulating documents and information security management decision making process. Some researchers propose using expert systems (ES) for process automation, but this approach requires the creation of a high-quality knowledge base. A knowledge base can be formed both from expert knowledge or information collected from other sources of information. The problem of such approach is that experts or good quality knowledge sources are expensive. In this paper we propose the problem solution by providing an automated ES knowledge base development method. The method proposed is novel since unlike other methods it does not integrate ontology directly but utilizes automated transformation of existing information security ontology elements into ES rules: The Web Ontology Rule Language (OWL RL) subset of ontology is segregated into Resource Description Framework (RDF) triplets, that are transformed into Rule Interchange Format (RIF); RIF rules are converted into Java Expert System Shell (JESS) knowledge base rules. The experiments performed have shown the principal method applicability. The created knowledge base was later verified by performing comparative risk analysis in a sample company
Image steganography based on color palette transformation in color space
In this paper, we present a novel image steganography method which is based on color palette transformation in color space. Most of the existing image steganography methods modify separate image pixels, and random noise appears in the image. By proposing a method, which changes the color palette of the image (all pixels of the same color will be changed to the same color), we achieve a higher user perception. Presented comparison of stegoimage quality metrics with other image steganography methods proved the new method is one of the best according to Structural Similarity Index (SSIM) and Peak Signal Noise Ratio (PSNR) values. The capability is average among other methods, but our method has a bigger capacity among methods with better SSIM and PSNR values. The color and pixel capability can be increased by using standard or adaptive color palette images with smoothing, but it will increase the embedding identification possibilityThis article is distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0

Design of High Frequency, Low Phase Noise LC Digitally Controlled Oscillator for 5G Intelligent Transport Systems
This paper presents the design, simulation, and measurements of a low power, low phase noise 10.25–11.78 GHz LC digitally controlled oscillator (LC DCO) with extended true single phase clock (E-TSPC) frequency divider in 130 nm complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) technology for 5G intelligent transport systems. The main goal of this work was to design the LC DCO using a mature and low-cost 130 nm CMOS technology. The designed integrated circuit (IC) consisted of two parts: the LC DCO frequency generation and division circuit and an independent frequency divider testing circuit. The proposed LC DCO consisted of the following main blocks: the high Q-factor inductor, switched-capacitors block, cross-coupled transistors, and the current control block. Inductors with switched-capacitors block formed an LC tank. The designed E-TSPC frequency divider consisted of eight blocks connected in a series; each block increased the division ratio by a factor of two. The frequency of the input signal was divided in the region from two to 256 times using the designed divider. The main parameters of the designed E-TSPC divider and the LC DCO measurements were given as follows: LC DCO achieved a wide tuning range from 10.25 GHz to 11.78 GHz (1.53 GHz, 15.28% bandwidth); phase noise at 1 MHz offset frequency from LC DCO lowest carrier frequency was −113.42 dBc/Hz; phase noise at 1 MHz offset frequency from LC DCO highest carrier frequency was −110.51 dBc/Hz; The average power consumption of the designed LC DCO core and E-TSPC divider were 10.02 mW and 97.52 mW, respectively; the figure of merit (FOM) and the extended FOMT values of the proposed LC DCO were −183.52 dBc/Hz and −187.20 dBc/Hz, respectively. These FOM and FOMT results were achieved due to very low phase noise (−113.52 dBc/Hz) and a wide frequency tuning range (15.28%). The total layout area including the pads was 1.5 mm × 1.5 mm, with the largest part of the layout occupied by the proposed LC DCO (193 µm × 311 µm). The largest part of the LC DCO was occupied by the inductor 184 µm × 184 µm. The manufactured chip was packed into a quad flat no-leads (QFN) 20 pads packageThis article belongs to the Section Circuit and Signal ProcessingThis research was funded by the Research Council of Lithuania grant number DOTSUT-235,

Hierarchy-Based Competency Structure and Its Application in E-Evaluation
The development of information technologies changes the learning process. The amount of publicly available data of e-learning systems allows personalized studies. Therefore, the tutor sometimes is needed for the student’s evaluation and consultation only. To ensure clear evaluation requirements and objective evaluation process, the learning material, as well as the evaluation system, must be discrete and semantically expressed. The list of mastered competencies and skills is more important to the enterprise; therefore, during the last years, the study process has concentrated on competency evaluation too. However, the current practice, when students’ competencies are summarized and expressed as one quantitative metric (score), do not express the list of students’ competencies and their level. To solve the problem, in this paper, we proposed a method for the design of competencies’ tree. The competency tree has to be formatted based on context modeling principles and analysis of Scope-Commonality-Variability. The usage of competency tree for students’ competencies’ evaluation proposes clearly defined and semantically expressed evaluation method for both human and e-learning evaluation process. This paper presents the results of the empirical experiment to adapt the proposed competency tree design and application for competencies’ e-evaluation method, based on flexibility, adaptability, and granularity of learning material. This article belongs to the Special Issue Smart Learnin
Impact of Quantum Dot Surface on Complex Formation with Chlorin e6 and Photodynamic Therapy
Nanomaterials have permeated various fields of scientific research, including that of biomedicine, as alternatives for disease diagnosis and therapy. Among different structures, quantum dots (QDs) have distinctive physico-chemical properties sought after in cancer research and eradication. Within the context of cancer therapy, QDs serve the role of transporters and energy donors to photodynamic therapy (PDT) drugs, extending the applicability and efficiency of classic PDT. In contrast to conventional PDT agents, QDs’ surface can be designed to promote cellular targeting and internalization, while their spectral properties enable better light harvesting and deep-tissue use. Here, we investigate the possibility of complex formation between different amphiphilic coating bearing QDs and photosensitizer chlorin e6 (Ce6). We show that complex formation dynamics are dependent on the type of coating—phospholipids or amphiphilic polymers—as well as on the surface charge of QDs. Förster’s resonant energy transfer occurred in every complex studied, confirming the possibility of indirect Ce6 excitation. Nonetheless, in vitro PDT activity was restricted only to negative charge bearing QD-Ce6 complexes, correlating with better accumulation in cancer cells. Overall, these findings help to better design such and similar complexes, as gained insights can be straightforwardly translated to other types of nanostructures—expanding the palette of possible therapeutic agents for cancer therapy. This article belongs to the Special Issue Nanomaterials for Photothermal/Photodynamic TherapyThe work was supported by the project “Postdoctoral Fellowship Implementation in Lithuania” funded

Influence of Temperature and Moisture Content on Pavement Bearing Capacity with Improved Subgrade
Environmental conditions (temperature, moisture and the intensity of the sun) influence variation in asphalt pavement strength during the year. Lithuania is situated in a zone by average warm summers and average cold winters, and the most important climatic factor is the variation of the air temperature. This study presents the influence of temperature (of asphalt concrete (AC) and subgrade layers) and moisture content (of subgrade layers) to the pavement bearing capacity. The experimental research was obtained in five pavement sections of the experimental road. This experimental road was constructed in 2007 in Lithuania and is operated for more than 12 years. This paper presents a statistical analysis between the bearing capacity and the thickness of the asphalt concrete layers, the temperature and moisture content of different pavement layers, among sections, loaded and unloaded lanes (right and left wheel paths and tracks). The bearing capacity was evaluated by a falling weight deflectometer (FWD), temperature and moisture content by electronic sensors and thickness of AC layers by Georadar. Analysis of overall E0 and E0,h9 (bearing capacity at a depth of 9 cm from asphalt surface) data declares that seasonal impact on pavement structural strength due to a change of subgrade bearing capacity remains after correction of asphalt stiffness dependent on the temperature in the layer. However, it was detected that neither E0 nor E0,h9 are related to moisture content at a depths of 100 cm, 130 cm and 150 cm.This article belongs to the Special Issue Recent Research in the Design of New Sustainable Building MaterialsThis research were done at the Test Road that was funded by Lithuanian Road Administration under the Ministry of Transport and Communications fund
Electric Field and Dispersion Characteristic Calculations of Glass Tube Waveguides Filled with Biological Substances
This study presents calculation of dispersion characteristics in the frequency range 1–100 GHz as well as electric field distributions in an open cylindrical waveguide with a central channel. The waveguide is made of glass material. The channel can be either empty or filled with blood plasma or blood cells. We investigated two kinds of electromagnetic (ЕМ) waves, the “tube” and “core” modes, each having a different structure of their electric fields. In the current study, the analysis focused on the fundamental and the first higher hybrid magnetic and electric “tube” modes. The fundamental “tube” mode that propagates in the waveguide filled with blood plasma is characterized by a very small loss at frequencies above 65 GHz. Meanwhile, the first higher mode suffers from strong attenuation in the same frequency range. This calls for finding ways to improve the waveguide’s broad-bandwidth. Our approach involves determining the dependence of this parameter on the inner radius of the waveguide. Extremes of the waveguide’s broad-bandwidth are observed at certain values of its inner radius. When the waveguide is filled with blood plasma or blood cells, the electric fields of the magnetic “tube” mode concentrate around the channel, and the electric field intensity decreases with the propagation of this mode along the waveguide, i.e., with increase of coordinate z. If the channel is filled with blood cells, the electric field of the hybrid magnetic “core” mode is concentrated in the center of the waveguide. This mode is characterized by a large attenuation h”, which reaches 500 m−1 at 30 GHzThis article belongs to the Section Bioelectronic
Effect of Aging on Chemical Composition and Rheological Properties of Neat and Modified Bitumen
The aim of this research was to define the effect of oxidative aging on the chemical and rheological properties of neat and styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) polymer-modified bitumen. The experimental research had two objectives: firstly, the short and long-term effects of aging on the properties of neat and polymer-modified bitumen were investigated. Then, the aging indexes based on chemical and rheological properties to describe the age of unknown bitumen were established. Aging characteristics such as the Gaestel index, sulfoxide and carbonyl indexes, linear viscoelastic strain range, crossover temperature, and Glover–Rowe parameter were analysed for laboratory aged and naturally aged neat and polymer-modified bitumen. The functional composition of aged bitumen was evaluated by measuring absorption with Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) attenuated total reflection (ATR) spectrometer. The saturates, aromatics, resins, and asphaltenes (SARA) fractions were determined with thin layer chromatography with flame-ionization detection (TLC-FID) to determine the colloidal instability index (Gaestel index). Finally, the complex shear modulus was determined with dynamic shear rheometer (DSR) to evaluate the influence of aging on the bitumen mechanical performance. This project has received funding from the European Social Fund (project No 09.3.3-LMT-K-712-02-0111)
