    No full text
Aims: This study aims to analyze experimental approaches used to evaluate the thermal insulation performance of bio-based wall materials derived from agro-industrial waste, with a specific focus on Palm Oil Fuel Ash (POFA) and eggshell powder, in the context of sustainable tropical building applications. Methodology and results: This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) consisting of three primary stages: a comprehensive search across reputable databases (Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar), article selection based on predefined inclusion criteria, and thematic analysis of 78 eligible studies. The review focused on experimental methods for evaluating thermal performance, including thermal conductivity (Hot Disk, Guarded Hot Plate), specific heat capacity (DSC), surface reflectance (UV-VIS), and chemical-microstructural analyses (TGA, SEM-EDS, XRD). Findings indicate that POFA and eggshell powder exhibit thermal conductivity values between 0.12–0.25 W/m·K, attributed to microporous structures and high SiO₂ or CaCO₃ content. Nonetheless, the integration of these laboratory findings with building energy simulations and the consideration of tropical, specific variables, such as humidity and solar radiation, remains notably limited in existing literature. Conclusion, significance and impact study: This study identifies critical methodological gaps in current research on bio-based thermal insulation materials and underscores the need for a more integrated evaluation framework. Specifically, it recommends combining laboratory testing with building energy simulation to enhance the validity and applicability of findings. Such an approach is essential for advancing the reliable implementation of agro-industrial bio-waste materials, such as POFA and  eggshell powder, in sustainable tropical architecture. The proposed integration not only strengthens the scientific foundation of material performance assessment but also contributes to more climate-responsive and low-carbon building design strategies in the Global South

    No full text
Infrastructure development is a critical driver of economic growth in Indonesia. However, limited funding from the State Budget (APBN) has prompted the Indonesian government to adopt the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme. The Kediri Dhoho Airport project, designated as one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN), is the first unsolicited PPP airport project in Indonesia, initiated by PT Gudang Garam Tbk through its subsidiary, PT Surya Dhoho Investama (PT SDHI), using the Design-Build-Finance-Operate-Maintain-Transfer (DBFOMT) scheme. This single-case study analyzes the project’s success factors and identifies strong financial commitment, effective risk management, and rigorous monitoring and evaluation as key contributors to the successful implementation of the unsolicited PPP model. The findings show that the project overcame significant challenges—such as land acquisition, technical risks, and financial constraints—without any government fiscal contributions. The success of the Dhoho Project is expected to serve as a strategic model for future PPP initiatives, demonstrating that this scheme can be an effective solution for public infrastructure development in Indonesia

This study investigates the influence of financial ratios and various additional factors on the fraudulent financial statements of non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2018 to 2021. The research examines several independent variables pertinent to fraudulent financial statements, including activity ratios, asset composition, leverage, liquidity, profitability, frequency of audit committee meetings, financial stability, and the nature of the industry. The study comprises a sample of 556 data points drawn from 139 companies selected based on specific criteria. Logistic regression was employed as the methodology for hypothesis testing. The findings indicate that financial stability significantly positively impacts the likelihood of fraudulent financial statements, as management may endeavour to stabilise financial conditions to obscure actual circumstances through fraudulent practices. Conversely, the frequency of audit committee meetings demonstrates a significant negative effect on the probability of fraudulent financial statements, as effective oversight can enhance the integrity of the reporting process. In contrast, the variables of activity ratios, asset composition, leverage, liquidity, profitability, and the nature of the industry do not significantly affect the likelihood of fraudulent financial statements. The implications of this research underscore the importance of robust corporate governance practices for practitioners, highlighting the necessity for vigilant oversight mechanisms to mitigate the risk of financial misreporting. These findings imply that firms should prioritize strengthening audit committee functions and ensuring financial transparency to reduce fraud risks. Regulators and stakeholders must emphasize frequent, effective oversight and promote governance standards. Companies must also foster ethical financial practices, as robust governance mechanisms play a crucial role in safeguarding the credibility of financial reporting and investor trust.
