    A Blockchain-Enabled Internet of Things Framework for Enhancing Trust and Privacy in Social Work Case Management

    Traditional social work case management systems face critical challenges including data silos, security vulnerabilities, and insufficient inter-agency collaboration, limiting service efficiency and compromising client privacy protection. This study addresses these challenges by developing and evaluating a novel technological framework that integrates blockchain consortium networks with Internet of Things (IoT) devices to establish multi-party trust mechanisms and enhance service delivery. The research contribution is a comprehensive four-layer system architecture featuring 28 smart contracts, decentralized trust mechanisms, and privacy-preserving technologies including homomorphic encryption and differential privacy for social work applications. The methodology employed a mixed-methods approach involving system design and development, followed by a six-month pilot implementation across three social work institutions in Taiwan with 249 participants. Data collection encompassed quantitative performance metrics from system logs and IoT sensors, alongside qualitative feedback through interviews and focus groups. The blockchain network achieved 850 transactions per second with 99.2% system availability, significantly outperforming industry standards. Results demonstrated substantial operational improvements: 37.1% reduction in case processing time, 87.3% increase in service efficiency, and 26-fold increase in inter-agency collaboration frequency. The blockchain-based trust mechanism increased inter-agency data sharing willingness from 61.3% to 84.6%, while maintaining 100% anonymization coverage with 91.3% analytical accuracy. Cost-benefit analysis revealed a 2.8-year payback period with 41.2% return on investment. This research demonstrates the feasibility and effectiveness of blockchain-IoT integration in social work, providing a practical framework for digital transformation while ensuring data security and privacy protection in sensitive social service environments

    A Lightweight 1D CNN for Unified Real-Time Communication Signal Classification and Denoising in Low-SNR Edge Environments

    The escalating complexity and pervasive noise in contemporary communication systems have increasingly rendered traditional signal processing methods insufficient for reliable real-time analysis. This research addresses a fundamental void in existing literature by proposing a novel and lightweight deep learning framework, primarily centered on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for the joint classification and denoising of communication signals. Distinct from prior methodologies that often segregate these crucial tasks our model integrates both objectives within a highly optimized, unified architecture engineered for ultra-low-latency inference, notably achieving a 30–50% reduction in inference time compared to deeper CNN-RNN hybrids or Transformer-based architectures. The framework's effectiveness was comprehensively evaluated using both synthetic and real-world datasets, including RadioML2018.01A which encompasses a diverse range of modulation schemes and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) levels. Experimental results conclusively demonstrate that the proposed CNN achieved an impressive 96.8% classification accuracy significantly enhanced signal quality to an average of 22.3 dB SNR, and maintained an average processing latency of merely 11.3 ms. These figures consistently demonstrate superior performance compared to traditional baselines including FFT, SVM, and LSTM. Despite these promising results, the current model was primarily trained and evaluated under Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) conditions, and future work will explore its generalization to real-world scenarios involving multipath fading, Doppler shifts, and dynamic channel interference. This study represents a significant leap forward in developing robust, efficient, and intelligent solutions essential for next-generation communication signal processing, particularly for real-time applications in resource-constrained environments

    Temperature-Controlled Process for Recycled Waste Tire Polymer-Polymer Composites: An Innovative and Sustainable Solution for Marine Fender Applications

    Marine fender prototypes play a critical role in protecting the ship and the berthing infrastructure from damage during docking. Recycling waste polymers, such as waste tires, into composite materials for marine fenders, can contribute to environmental sustainability and resource conservation. In marine Fender applications, compression testing often plays a crucial role; we should also test factors such as elasticity, stiffness, and hardness. In this study, pressure and hardness were selected, and Young's modulus was calculated for two types of composite materials: one manufactured from waste tires and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and the other from waste tires and room-temperature vulcanized (RTV) silicone both in varying proportions. These types of materials were produced using a press machine equipped with a PID controller, which enables the adjustment of the temperature to a desired value, thereby achieving the best results. Prototypes containing 85% waste tire with 15% HDPE and 50% waste tire with 50% RTV silicone showed superior energy absorption and durability for marine fender applications. Despite achieving satisfactory hardness and hardness values, the waste tire and RTV silicone composite did not exceed those of the waste tire and HDPE composites, which had Young's modulus and Shore hardness values of 1.74 MPa and 56.6, respectively. The compression test showed that the waste tire and RTV silicone composites achieved higher values, surpassing 1990 kN. The findings provide a crucial foundation for utilizing waste composite materials in marine fender production

    A Hybrid PI–SOSM Control Strategy with Disturbance Observer for Enhanced Dynamic Response of IM Drives

    This paper proposes a novel hybrid field-oriented control (FOC) strategy for high-performance induction motor (IM) drives, integrating a conventional Proportional–Integral (PI) controller in the speed loop and a Super-Twisting Second-Order Sliding Mode (SOSM) controller in the current loop. The main novelty lies in combining a sliding mode disturbance observer (OB) with a hybrid PI–SOSM structure, enabling real-time estimation and compensation of unknown load torque. The estimated torque is transformed into an equivalent disturbance current, which is directly added to the torque-producing current reference, thereby achieving feedforward disturbance rejection. The novel hybrid structure achives the improved dynamic response and robustness through self-compensated torque disturbance using OB, reduced chattering in current regulation via SOSM, and maintaining PI simplicity in the outer speed loop. Extensive simulation results by MATLAB/Simulink sotfware demonstrates that the hybrid controller offers superior dynamic performance, enhanced robustness against parameter uncertainties and load disturbances, and significantly reduced chattering effects compared with conventional PI–PI FOC

    Banana Blossom as a Novel Ingredient in The Zero Waste Strategy: Application in Flakes

    Banana bud is an underutilized byproduct of the banana plant.  Banana bud is rich in fiber and macronutrients that promote health. The potential of banana bud can be optimized by transforming it into convenient ready-to-eat food products. This study was contributed to facilitate the conversion of agricultural waste into nutrient-dense functional foods. This investigation will involve the preparation of flakes using banana bud flour and arrowroot flour as substitutes for wheat flour. Each mixture incorporated banana bud and arrowroot flour at concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%. Additionally, the flakes will undergo assessment of their chemical, physical, and sensory characteristics. The incorporation of banana bud and arrowroot flour into the flakes resulted in a considerable increase in total protein and crude fiber values compared to the control sample. The hardness and crunchiness of the flakes varied considerably, although the water absorption capacity rose markedly. The incorporation of banana bud flour resulted in the flakes acquiring a reddish hue. The outcomes of the descriptive sensory evaluation yielded an assessment of color, odor, texture, flavor, aftertaste, and texture after rehydration conducted by the panellists. The study's results indicate that banana plant waste can be utilized to produce nutrient-dense food products favored by panellists

    Kesetaraan gender ternyata bisa ditemukan juga dalam sebuah lagu yang bernuansa romantis dan sederhana. Tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan pemahaman mendalam tentang penyampaian pesan dalam hubungan keluarga melalui makna lirik lagu dari kacamata peran gender maskulinitas, feminin, dan kesetaraan gender. Penelitian ini juga menganalisis bagaimana makna lirik lagu Kita Usahakan Rumah Itu mengandung makna kesetaraan gender berdasarkan teori John Struart Mill dalam membangun hubungan rumah tangga. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Data berupa unsur bahasa yakni kata, frasa, klausa, dan kalimat dengan sumber data berupa makna lirik lagu yang berjudul Kita Usahakan Rumah Itu dipopulerkan oleh Sal Priadi dan mengandung makna kesetaraan gender. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui tahap simak dan transkripsi. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yaitu reduksi data, sajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan makna kesetaraan gender dari aspek kebebasan individu, hak yang setara, kesamaan potensi antara perempuan dan laki-laki, serta kebebasan keadilan. Makna kesetaraan gender tersebut memberikan stigma gender positif terhadap hubungan kepada masyarakat terkhusus pasangan muda

    Pesatnya perkembangan media digital telah mengubah salah satu cara penyampaian nilai moral kepada masyarakat. Video klip sebagai media populer dapat berkontribusi penting dalam penyampaian dan pembentukan nilai moral, terutama bagi pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai moral dalam video klip “Usik” dan mendeskripsikan relevansi nilai moral terhadap pendidikan karakter. Metode pada penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi untuk mengkaji elemen visual, gestur karakter, alur cerita dan lirik dalam setiap adegan video klip “Usik” karya Feby Putri. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik simak dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teori semiotika Roland Barthes, yang mencakup analisis denotasi, konotasi, dan interpretasi nilai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tujuh adegan dalam video klip “Usik” karya Feby Putri yang memiliki makna denotasi melalui ekspresi visual karakter yang merenung, berjalan menjauh, dan berinteraksi terbatas dengan orang lain. Makna konotasi yang mencerminkan nilai moral seperti kejujuran dalam mengungkapkan perasaan, kesadaran emosional, keberanian menghadapi kenyataan, empati, dan pengendalian diri. Analisis video klip “Usik” karya Feby Putri menunjukkan nilai-nilai moral yang relevan dengan pendidikan karakter. Nilai yang relevan seperti kejujuran, kesadaran diri, keberanian, empati, dan pengendalian diri. Temuan ini dapat menjadi acuan dalam pengembangan pendidikan karakter melalui nilai moral

    Peluang dan Tantangan Riset Studi Sastra Arab dengan Menggunakan Pendekatan Semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce

    Fokus penelitian ini adalah unutuk menginvestigasi alasan terbatasnya penggunaan teori semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce dalam studi sastra Arab, dan untuk mengidentifikasi tantangan serta peluang penerapannya. Metode yang digunakan adalah systematic literature review kualitatif dengan analisis terhadap artikel terindeks Scopus, SAGE Journal, dan SINTA 2 periode 2020-2025, menggunakan kata kunci "semiotika Peirce sastra Arab". Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teori Peirce masih jarang diaplikasikan dalam kajian sastra Arab, dengan hanya 12,5% artikel di Scopus yang secara eksplisit menggunakannya. Sebagian besar peneliti lebih memilih pendekatan semiotika umum atau teori Roland Barthes dan Ferdinand De Saussure yang dianggap lebih sederhana. Ruang lingkup kajian mencakup sastra Arabdalam konteks puisi, prosa, kartun, dan simbol visual, tetapi belum banyak menyentuh aspek linguistik. Minimnya referensi empiris dan kompleksitas konsep triadic Peirce (representamen-objek-interpretan) menjadi kendala utama. Namun, peluangnya terletak pada potensi teori ini untuk mengungkap makna simbolik yang dinamis, terutama dalam teks-teks sufistik atau karya kontemporer. Secara internasional, penelitian berbasis Peirce juga masih terbatas, dengan dominasi studi dari Rusia, Amerika, dan Tiongkok. Temuan ini merekomendasikan perlunya kolaborasi interdisipliner dan pengembangan panduan operasional untuk memaksimalkan penerapan teori Peirce dalam studi sastra Arab

    Representasi Jangsanbeom dan Konstruksi Makna Budaya dalam Media Populer di Busan

    Pada cerita rakyat yang berkembang di Busan terdapat salah satu mitos tentang makhluk ghaib yang disebut Jangsanbeom. Cerita rakyat yang mengangkat mitos Jangsanbeom mengalami proses rekonstruksi naratif dan visual seiring dengan berkembangnya teknologi dan media digital. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi pustaka dan dokumentasi media yang berkaitan dengan Jangsanbeom. Untuk analisis data, digunakan teknik analisis wacana yang dilakukan secara tematik untuk mencari pola atau tema berulang dalam teks atau wacana media. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa mitos Jangsanbeom sebagai simbol budaya Busan ingin dipertahankan dalam bentuk aslinya agar nilai-nilai tradisional, sejarah, dan warisan budaya terus terjaga dan diwariskan kepada generasi berikutnya. Tuntutan komersialisasi mendorong adaptasi dan modifikasi mitos tersebut agar lebih menarik dan mudah diterima masyarakat di berbagai kalangan. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan kajian budaya dan sastra lisan dengan menunjukkan bagaimana representasi mitos lokal dapat menjadi arena pertarungan ideologis antara pelestarian identitas budaya dan tuntutan globalisasi, serta menyoroti pentingnya strategi adaptasi budaya dalam media populer sebagai bentuk pelestarian yang relevan di era digital

    Enhancing merchant participation in QRIS adoption through digital marketing strategies: A case study of BPD Kaltim Kaltara in festival events

    In Indonesia’s accelerating digital economy, the promotion of cashless payments is central to advancing financial inclusion, particularly through the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS). Despite its growing use, many micros, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) remain hesitant to adopt QRIS due to limited digital literacy and trust in digital transactions. This study investigates how PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Kalimantan Timur and Kalimantan Utara (BPD Kaltim Kaltara) employs digital marketing strategies to increase merchant participation in QRIS during festival events. Adopting a qualitative case study design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with seven BPD marketing staff and participating vendors, complemented by secondary documentation. The findings reveal that digital marketing, through social media outreach, incentive programs, and integration with the DG by Bankaltimtara application, enhances awareness and engagement. However, adoption is hindered by obstacles such as low digital literacy among older merchants, skepticism regarding transaction security, and infrastructural limitations. These challenges underscore the limited effectiveness of current strategies in reaching all merchant segments. The study concludes that fostering QRIS adoption requires not only promotional efforts but also sustained education, technical assistance, and collaborative partnerships tailored to MSME needs. Theoretically, the research contributes to the discourse on digital marketing and innovation diffusion by highlighting the role of context-specific strategies in financial technology adoption. Practically, it offers insights for policymakers and financial institutions to design more inclusive, trust-building approaches that advance Indonesia’s digital financial ecosystem
