Scenes for Spectrography experiment
Scenes were recorded following the tasks involved in spectrography experiments, which are carried out in front of "J9" output radiadion channel, the latter in open condition. These tasks may be executed by one or two persons. One person can do the tasks, but requiring him to crouch in front of "J9" to adjust the angular position the experimental appartus (a crystal to bend the neutron radiation to the spectograph), and then to get up to verify data in a computer aside; these movements are repeated until achieving the right operational conditions. Two people may aid one another in such a way one remais crouched while the other remains still in front of the computer. They may also interchange tasks so as to divide received doses.
Up to now, there are available two scenes with one person and one scene with two persons. These scenes are described in the sequel:
- Scene 3:
Comprises the scene with two persons performing spectography experiment.

A Strategic View for Rare Earths Production, in a Competitive and Sustainable form
The demand for rare earths (RE) has been intensified by their large use, especially in high technology sectors. Supply difficulties have forced RE users to seek alternative sources and invest in the development of recycling technologies and options of reuse for these elements. This article seeks to reveal the trends and ongoing changes in national and global prospects of RE. Additionally, it aims to analyze scientific collaboration networks in the area of industrial solid waste (ISW) and waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) exploitation in Brazil, examining both researchers and institutions with greater representation in the field. For this purpose, social network analysis methods were used to build and analyze co-authorship networks based on scientific publications retrieved from the Web of Science (WoS) database. The results showed that the Brazilian collaboration network of ISW research was extremely fragmented and contained 105 different groups, which were not connected to each other. The institutional network of ISW research was composed of 125 institutions, 75.2% of them from Brazil. The Brazilian collaboration network of research in WEEE was small (37 researchers), but fragmented: researchers were divided into eight different groups that do not connect to each other. The institutional network of research in WEEE was composed by 12 institutions, nine of them from Brazil. Therefore, this article presents a network collaboration model to bring together actors involved in the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), emphasizing the potential for recovery of RE from these wastes, with the purpose of developing products and services
With the proximity of the Olympic Games there is a risk that Brazil becomes a target for terrorist actions. Aware of these problems, the government and the organizations set up emergency steps to ensure that these events elapse in an orderly and safe manner.
The management of emergency situations in an event is a difficult task to be solved as it involves unforeseen and unwanted dynamic situations. Professionals involved in the execution of multiple tasks inherent to this process deal with activities that require intense cognitive effort.
For this reason they are often challenged to dynamically adapt in order to maintain the organization’s productivity at satisfactory levels.
This usually prevents these individuals to reflect on the results of their actions and learn from them. Therefore, it is important to create tools that addresses the methods and techniques of Cognitive Task Analysis (CTA) to assist on security officers’ training, such as the detection and approach to persons suspected of transporting materials represent risk for the population as bombs, radioactive elements or biological agents.
One of the possible ways to accomplish this training is through the use of virtual reality viewing that virtual environments bring some advantages like reducing costs and risks. The aim of this work is to present a virtual simulator to assist the training of agents in major events. As a case study, Mario Filho stadium, popularly known as Maracanã was chosen, because this is one of the locations used during the Olympic Games.
A fuzzy model to assess disaster risk reduction maturity level based on the Hyogo Framework for Action.
The Hyogo Framework for Action was conceived to help nations build resilience against disasters. This framework was negotiated and approved by the United Nations at the World Conference on Disaster Reduction, held in Hyogo, Japan, in 2005.
Disaster risk reductions systems are multi-agency integrated environment needing clear goals and ways to assess their evolution for planning purposes. The assessment of risk reduction maturity levels in countries/cities is difficult due to the large amount of data that must be collected and integrated to assess what is being done within each action indicated by the Hyogo Framework. Most indicators dependent on human perception are used in this assessment, making it highly dependent on the evaluators’ perceptions. The objective of this work is to propose a participatory fuzzy model able to assess the maturity level of
disaster risk reduction using indicators in line with the Hyogo Framework. We apply the model and the evaluation method in an exploratory study in the city of Rio de Janeiro where there are several communities at risk of landslides due heavy rains

Shakedown Analysis Considering Limited Kinematic Hardening Materials
In design or safety assessment of mechanical structures, the use of the Design by Analysis (DBA) route is a
modern trend. However, for making possible to apply DBA to structures under variable loads, two basic failure modes considered by ASME or European Standards must be precluded. Those modes are the alternate plasticity and incremental collapse (with instantaneous plastic collapse as a particular case). Shakedown theory is a tool that permit us to assure that those kinds of failures will be avoided. However, in practical applications, very large nonlinear optimization problems are generated. Due to this facts, only in recent years have been possible to obtain algorithms sufficiently accurate, robust and efficient, for dealing with this class of problems. In this paper, one of these shakedown algorithms, developed for dealing with elastic ideally-plastic structures, is enhanced to include limited kinematic hardening, a more realistic
material behavior. This is done in the continuous model by using internal thermodynamic variables. A corresponding discrete model is obtained using an axisymmetric mixed finite element with an internal variable. A thick wall sphere, under variable thermal and pressure loads, is used in an example to show the importance of considering the limited kinematic hardening in the shakedown calculation
The present work is part of an ongoing project in the Instituto de Engenharia
Nuclear for thermo-hydraulic calculations in fuel rods of nuclear reactors. Based upon
preceding studies, it improved the previous methodology, making it possible, by the simple
modeling of a homogeneous mixture, to analyze two-phase flows (liquid-vapor) of one
component (light water) and thus overcome the threshold imposed by the saturation
temperature of the coolant. At its heart is the finite element method with which a typical
fuel rod of a light-water reactor and its peculiar coolant channel were discretized. This
rod had a three-dimensional discretization in which the Galerkin method was applied,
whereas the channel’s one-dimensional discretization was obtained by the least-squares
method. The coupling of these discretizations was carried out by balancing the heat flux
between said reactor’s components through the implementation of a process of “internal
iterations”. Six were the verifications undertaken in the developed program: convergence
toward the steady state of simulations with different initial conditions of temperature,
similarity of the data obtained by it with the product of the analytical solution of the
enthalpy transport equation in the coolant channel, adequacy of the “internal iterations”
in regard to the methodology of the program developed in Affonso (2013), comparison of
its results with those provided by the work of Krepper et al. (2007), and examinations
concerning the use of the two implemented correlations for heat transfer in the flow boiling
regime: the Chen’s and the Steiner and Taborek’s, and the two sources provided for the
physical properties of the coolant: the routines of NBSNRCE code and the correlations
of IAPWS. Finally, case studies are presented for the hottest fuel rod of a PWR. These
studies include the steady state and simulations of the shutdown transient in which there
is loss of the residual heat removal system (pump trip). Cases are considered in which the
hottest rod can be in one of three states: perfect, curved or presenting ballooning. Analysis
are also carried out considering two fuel positioning conditions within the rod: concentric
