Our Letters of Resistance
In the Fall of 2021, graduate teaching associates in the First-Year Writing Program at Cal State LA adopted the “Resistance Multimedia Position Statement” as a common assignment for their ENGL 1005A courses. Through this project, students were invited to explore their personal relationship to rhetorics of resistance. Documenting their teaching and learning experiences through a series of letters, two teaching associates offer insights into their pedagogical development as early-career educators during the COVID-19 pandemic. A showcase of student work demonstrates the mixed media techniques their first-year students employed to position themselves in public statements on resistance crafted for virtual environments.  
Impersonal Intimacies: Reflections on Desexualized Language in Intimacy Choreography
In this article, Dr. Kari Barclay evaluates the concept of desexualized language prevalent in different spheres of intimacy work. "Desexualized language" describes the technique in intimacy choreography of using technical language to name choreography and sex acts. Instead of describing a scene\u27s action as a "blow job" or urging one performer to "grope" another\u27s chest, intimacy choreographers might describe performed action as "oral stimulation" or urge performers to "close distance between their hand and a scene partner\u27s chest before applying muscle-level touch" (Pace, 2020, 39-71). Much of the writing and discourse of desexualized language comes from Chelsea Pace and Laura Rikard of Theatrical Intimacy Education (Pace, 2020, 10), but advocacy for desexualized language is found throughout the intimacy field, including in the work of Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (formerly Intimacy Directors International) (Kaufman, Sina, and Warden, 2019; Kaufman, Noble, and White, 2020). Lights Out on a Random Graph
We consider the generalized game Lights Out played on a graph and investigate the following question: for a given positive integer n, what is the probability that a graph chosen uniformly at random from the set of graphs with n vertices yields a universally solvable game of Lights Out? When n ≤ 11, we compute this probability exactly by determining if the game is universally solvable for each graph with n vertices. We approximate this probability for each positive integer n with n ≤ 87 by applying a Monte Carlo method using 1,000,000 trials. We also perform the analogous computations for connected graphs

Optimal Minimal-Perturbation University Scheduling With Faculty Preferences
In the university scheduling problem, sometimes additions or cancellations of sections of a course occur shortly before the beginning of the academic term, necessitating last-minute teaching staffing changes. We present a decision-making framework that both minimizes the number of course swaps, which are inconvenient for instructors, and maximizes instructors\u27 preferences for section times they wish to teach. The model is formulated as an integer linear program (ILP). Numerical simulations for a hypothetical mid-sized academic department are presented
