During 1950-1951 the four residence halls (Bailey, Fraser, Blake, and Sturges) accommodated 204 women students and the College Center, with dining room, snack bar, lounge, post office and browsing and game rooms were occupied. Anne S. Blake began as a substitute kindergarten teacher in 1917, then head of the kindergarten department, then dean of women from 1921. She retired in 1934.     Constructed in 1967, the Brodie Fine Arts building is named in honor of William A. Brodie, a Geneseo attorney whose clients included various members of the Wadsworth family. Brodie was one of several local leaders whose efforts were instrumental in getting a Normal School located in Geneseo. The Fine Arts Building (later named Brodie) was formally dedicated in May 1968.
