Students-Centered Engagement with English Language Teaching Using Project-Based Learning Model
Abstract. This research aims to investigate student engagement in SCL (Student-Centered Learning) activities. The researcher focuses on four dimensions of engagement (cognitive engagement, behavioral engagement, emotional engagement, and social engagement). A review of related literature suggests that those four dimensions matter in conducting English learning studies. In addition, student engagement plays a vital role in the teaching and learning process. A qualitative descriptive study had used to observe 35 students. The research utilized a semi-structured interview with four students to give a brief explanation. The data analysis of this research presents four dimensions of engagement in the implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL) as one of SCL in an English Language study. The result show that they engaged actively with the PjBL model. SCL's approach took part in their desire to adhere to learning activities. Furthermore, teachers as a facilitator make the learning process run dynamically. Accordingly, the findings of this research support the premise that student engagement optimizes learning and maximizes the learning outcome

Detection of Enterobacteriaceae Lactose Fermenter Bacteria Producing Extended Spectrum Beta-Lactamase (ESBL) in Food Samples at Surabaya
Snacks sold on the side of the road are often purchased because they are practical and cheap. The condition of food sold in the open causes a decrease in food hygiene, so bacteria will easily contaminate, both due to flies infesting it and direct contact with the hands of people around it. One group of bacteria that can cause infection and often contaminate food is Enterobacteriaceae. These bacteria can produce Extended Spectrum Beta Lactamase (ESBL) enzymes that cause resistance to various antibiotics (MDR). This research aims to detecting ESBL-producing Enterobacteriaceae lactose fermenter bacteria in street food sold on the side of the road in the Dukuh Kupang market area, Surabaya. This study is descriptive observational research with a cross-sectional research design. A total of 50 snack food samples were grown on MacConkey agar containing cefotaxime at four micrograms per milliliter. Then an ESBL confirmation test was carried out using the double disk synergy test (DDST). The Result showed that 13 (26%) samples of snack foods were contaminated. ESBL-producing Enterobacteriaceae Lactose Fermenter bacteria are ubiquitous. The most contaminated snack food was cassava, while the non-contaminated snack food was stuffed tofu

Liver Histopathology of Mice Induced by Paracetamol on Administration of Methanol Extract of Laban Tree Bark (Vitex pubescens Vahl.)
Paracetamol metabolism takes place in the liver mediated by CYP450 enzymes and generates NAPQI radicals. The NAPQI radical is highly electrophilic to hepatocyte biomolecules and is therefore capable of inducing liver damage. Laban tree bark (V. pubescens) methanol extract is known to contain antioxidant compounds of flavonoids, saponins, and tannins with an IC50 value of 19.83 g/ml. This study aims to determine the optimal dose of extract that can improve the liver microanatomy of mice induced by toxic dose of paracetamol (TDP). This study used 30 male Swiss strain mice with a body weight of 20-30 g. The treatments given consisted of negative control (paracetamol 105 mg kg-1), positive control (vitamin E 46.8 mg kg-1), and laban extract at a dose of 75; 150; 300; 600 mg kg-1 BW. Liver microanatomy parameters measured included hepatocyte diameter (19.50±0.21 µm), sinusoids (4.39±0.23 µm), and central vein (36.84 ± 1.79 µm). Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Duncan's Multiple Range Test further test was then presented in the form of mean ± standard deviation. The results showed that extract at a dose of 600 mg kg-1 had hepatocyte, sinusoid, and central vein diameters that were not significantly different (p0.05) with vitamin E
