Methodology for determining the jaw bone dimensions via 3D imaging in patients with total edentulism

    Get PDF
Introduction: The planning and treatment of patients with total edentulism requires precise analysis of the prosthetic field and assessment of the complex volumetric structure of the human skull. An advantage of diagnosing the prosthetic field using CBCT is the possibility of examining the relevant area in the three planes—sagittal, frontal, and horizontal.Aim: The aim of this study is to analyze and develop a methodology for measuring the average dimensions of edentulous upper and lower jaws for the purposes of prosthetic rehabilitation, using 3D imaging.Materials and Methods: A total of 39 CBCTs of edentulous patients were studied. The selection criteria included clearly visible anatomical structures and no history of surgery or fractures. Reference lines were drawn through anatomical landmarks on standardized CBCTs. Each CBCT was processed with the Romexis® Viewer 4.6.2.R program (Planmeca). After calibrating the software, the bioconstants, which were to be used for the measurement, were determined. Results: Placing markers on the most prominent point of the left and right tuber maxillae and the horizontal line between them determined the linear distance corresponding to the sagittal dimensions of the upper jaw. To measure the size relative to the frontal plane, a line passing through the middle of the hard palate and perpendicular to the correspondingly drawn tangents to the anatomical landmarks of the upper jaw was used as a reference. For the lower jaw, the determination of sagittal dimensions includes measuring the linear distance of the horizontal line connecting two markers positioned on the most prominent points of the trigonum retromolare. The vestibular-oral dimension of the jaw relative to the frontal plane was determined by a line passing through the middle of the mandible. The linear distances thus determined and recorded allow the development of a protocol for measuring the average dimensions of the jaw bones. The results obtained serve to select an impression tray that is fully tailored to the individual anatomical features of the patient, facilitating clinicians in planning and treating with removable prostheses. Conclusion: The developed protocol for determining the dimensions of the jaw bones in edentulous patients is important for accurate diagnosis and an exact treatment plan. The treatment of such patients requires the restoration of facial aesthetics and the function of the chewing apparatus. Alveolar bone atrophy and the establishment of anatomical landmarks along the prosthetic field using CBCT contribute to the production of functionally suitable complete dentures

Obstetrics And Family Planning – Future And Present

    Get PDF
Prevention and promotion of family planning are of primary importance at the core of midwifery activities in modern health care. Reproductive hygiene, the sexual culture of husbands and the health attitude to intimacy, sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy and birth are built under the influence of a complex complex of medical-social, psychological, economic and biological factors. Conservative attitudes and traditional gender norms limit women's abilities to engage in safer sexual behaviors, contribute to ignoring sexual health education, and hinder access to health services both now and in the future The effectiveness of the conducted research is far from our expectations and the requirements for the respondents' need for modern preventive obstetric activity. Their wishes are a serious prerequisite for searching for new opportunities. The theory and practice of the current midwife is a real fact and a practical opportunity to improve treatment results regarding sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies, even in single cases this should not be beyond the scope of general medicine and obstetrics in particular

Procurement management in retail chains for household goods in Bulgaria

    Get PDF
This paper explores procurement management practices in the retail chains that specialize in buying, selling, or exchanging goods or services in the market of furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance in Bulgaria. As multinational retail giants continue to expand their operations in the country, effective procurement strategies are becoming a key factor in maintaining a competitive advantage, ensuring correct stock availability and cost optimization. The study purpose is to analyze the procurement processes at leading retailers in the industry and to emphasize the role of ERP systems as a main technology for optimizing ordering activities and integrating sustainable sourcing practices. The findings show that successful procurement management in this sector depends on a strategic approach, which includes long-term partnership with key suppliers, optimizing inventory management and implementing modern digital tools

Composition and nutritional value of apricots

    Get PDF
Fresh fruits are nutritionally valuable and are a major part of consumers' daily diet. Apricot is the most common stone fruit in the world. It is used for direct consumption, drying, production of fruit, fruit-sugar preserves and nectars. Apricot fruits are characterized by a relatively high content of sugars, organic acids, minerals, aromatic substances and vitamins. In addition, bioactive substances represented by polysaccharides, proteins and polyphenols are found in the composition. The composition, respectively the nutritional value of the fruits depends on the variety, the soil and climatic conditions under which the fruits were grown and the degree of maturity. The aim of this paper is to present and analyze the essence, production, factors that influence the composition of apricots and to outline the average content of each indicator according to the researches carried out up to this moment

    Design patterns for digital twins

    Get PDF
Digital twins are virtual counterparts of people, physical objects, processes or systems. They are models based on a very large amount of data about real objects and are used to remotely maintain, monitor, model and predict the behavior of the real object. The development of digital twins is an increasingly widespread practice and their implementation is expected in various spheres. The technologies used to create them are developing very intensively and dynamically. Therefore, the design and architecture of digital twins are not strictly defined, despite the popularity of their application. However, in different spheres, they are applied in different ways and this leads to different architectural solutions. The article examines a pattern-based architecture. For this purpose, design patterns and the possibilities of their use in the development of digital twins are considered

This report presents an in-depth analysis of safety in the offshore wind energy industry, which is mainly based on the use of key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess safety measures, challenges and risks associated with operating in a dynamic marine environment. The results of the study are expressed in specific indicator values, and their analysis shows the need for greater standardization and data sharing

Equalism and the average equality as dangers in art education

    No full text
There are certain dangers, which are currently arising in the education of young people in the field of art. They must be overcome. The first danger lies in ‘equalism’, in adhering only to 'normality'. The task of the educator is to educate the restless, the searching, the unconventional artist. The second danger lies in the interference of the consumer ideal in art. The young persons who have committed themselves to the artistic must recognize consumerism and resist it, not serve it.Danger number three consists of the universal tolerance, an acute deficiency, a lack of ‘assertiveness’. In teaching, one's own point of view, one's own position, one's own view of the diversity of the world must be encouraged. Danger number four is structuralism, which comes into sharp contradiction with the purpose of art. It destroys the free initiative of artistic thinking. Danger number five: It is more than necessary for future artists to develop a sense of awareness as to when they are being used and turned into something to serve consumer taste. The primary task of the art teacher is to humanize the young artist so that he or she can convey to people the experience, the meaning, the divine purpose of art
