A New Homotopy Perturbation Method for Solving Systems of Nonlinear Equations of Emden-Fowler Type
In this work, we apply the new homotopy perturbation method (NHPM) to get accurate results for solving systems of nonlinear equations of Emden–Fowler type, we indicate that our method (NHPM) is equivalent to the variational iteration method (VIM) with a specific convex. Four examples are given to illustrate our proposed methods. The method is easy to carry out and gives very accurate solutions for solving linear and nonlinear differential equations
SEMIGLOBAL TOTAL DOMINATION IN GRAPHS
A subset D of vertices of a connected graph G is called a semiglobal total dominating set if D is a dominating set for G and Gsc and < D > has no isolated vertex in G, where Gsc is the semi complementary graph of G. The semiglobal total domination number is the minimum cardinality of a semiglobal total dominating set of G and is denoted by γsgt(G). In this paper exact values for γsgt(G) are obtained for some graphs like cycles, wheel and paths are presented as well
Some q-Hypergeometric representations of the multiple Hurwitz zeta function
In this paper, The main object to give some new representations of the q-analogue of the multiple Hurwitz zeta function are derived
Oscillation Theorems for Third Order Nonlinear Delay Differential Equation with “Maxima”
In this paper we obtain oscillation criteria for the third order delay differential equation with “maxima” of the formvia comparison with the oscillatory behavior of first order differential equations. Some examples are given to illustrate the main result
Human-Machine Interaction: Causal Dynamical Networks
The objective of this paper is to introduce a modified version of the Causal Dynamical Networks (CDN) algorithm for application in the human-machine interaction. It is demonstrated that an individual does not interact with one robot, but with a multitude of personalities stored in the robot. These personalities are independent of each other. A robot thus does not have a unique personality. In order for a robot to become a unique individual a new algorithm is proposed. The new algorithm is called the Causal Form Fluctuation Network (CEFN). It is shown that such an algorithm can help machines develop similar to human general intelligence capabilities such as interpretation, wisdom (acquiring knowledge), and prediction (intuition). Also to be able to make decisions, have ideas, and imaginations
Efficient Simple Tests For Primality
The tests form a general method to decide whether a given positive odd integer is composite or prime. The tests are based on the divisibility properties of the sum of two squared positive integers. The algorithms comprising the tests are polynomial- time algorithms
Gender: concept, category and more (a theoretical confusion)
The confusions that have originated from the gender category are explored and described. A confusion that arises from the feminist academy in the distinction as to how the biological bodies of human beings become social, and therefore, every social interaction is sexed. The gender category has been widely divulged in the last years, but while doing it, its use has become freer and less rigorous, identifying it with feminine, women, feminist movements and social movements of women. Underlying theoretical and epistemiologic are proposed. Theoretical essays that borrow categories of social analysis from conceptual schemes are revised, but these are decontextualized when using them fortheorizations of gender. Difficulties arise in the theoretical categories of sociological character and of political science such as social construction and power, they are transported without epistemic mediation or specification to the language of other disciplines, mainly psychology or anthropology
An Exploration of the Use of Online Technology to Improve the Recruitment and Selection Process at a TVET College
Sourcing talent in a competitive labour market with a short supply of skilled labour is a difficult task for the human resource team and senior managers at the TVET College in this study. The purpose of this study is to explore the use of online technology to improve the recruitment and selection process at the College. The current approach to recruitment and selection was identified and the effectiveness of the recruitment sources used by the College in relation to its cost and reach was analysed. A comparative analysis of the current approach to recruitment and selection and the current trends in e-recruitment in terms of technological advancement was undertaken. The study also makes recommendations regarding the integration of e-recruitment tools to enhance the process. A phenomenological, qualitative research paradigm was adopted. The findings revealed the deficiencies and negative perceptions of the participants with regards to the current approach to recruitment and selection. Current trends revealed that the Internet eliminates the deficiencies identified in the traditional approach and is becoming the preferred way to attract candidates with scarce skills and has several benefits (speed, reduced administrative burden, reduced costs and global reach). Findings also revealed that potential applicants may have limited or no access to the Internet, or that some applicants may not be as technology savvy to be able to complete online applications. Thus, the traditional methods of recruitment and selection cannot be totally replaced; hence the recommendations to adopt a hybrid approach to source a wider pool of candidates
The Impact of Using Social Media for Advertising Appliances on Consumer Behaviour
The small appliance industry in South Africa offers consumers a wide range of appliances, models and brands. Understanding the consumer and shopper trends is still in its infancy stage within this segment of the market. This study focuses on investigating the use of effective online engagement and the ability to understand how online interaction changes consumers’ behaviour among an appliance brand’s customers which constitute the sample of the study. How the group can understand the full route to market and best make use of segments for engagement was also investigated. A survey was conducted where questionnaire was administrated via the group’s page on Facebook and consisted of opinion-based questions on the perception of Facebook as a medium to influence consumer behaviour. The results of the survey revealed that potential consumers who use Facebook do engage with appliance brands and manufactures, and they admit that engaging with them on Facebook influences their behaviour around appliances
Government Fiscal Policy and Agricultural Sector Outputs in Nigeria: Evidence from Fully Modified Ordinary Least Square (FMOLS)
The agricultural sector is an important sector of any economy as it plays a vital role from various points of view like, share in GDP, employment and foreign exchange earnings. Despite Nigeria’s rich agricultural and resource endowment, as well as the pre and post oil boom experiences she has witnessed, the Nigerian agricultural sector has failed to blossom as it is expected to; and Less than 50% of the country’s cultivable agricultural land is under cultivation. The study thus examines Government fiscal policy and Agricultural sector outputs in Nigeria between 1995 and 2014 using Fully Modified Ordinary Least Square (FMOLS) regression method. Findings from the study showed that over the years, the government has almost been the sole provider of financial and other recurrent resources to support agriculture. Value added tax (VAT) was however found to have influenced the growth of value of agricultural outputs positively and significantly. It shows that the amount of VAT imposed on agricultural outputs has improved the growth of the agricultural produce. However, government capital allocation and expenditure to agriculture is relatively low and that actual expenditure falls short of budgeting expenditure and the rate of under spending is usually higher for agriculture than for other economic sectors. More so, a large proportion of the funds allocated to agriculture do not go directly to farmers. The federal Government thus needs to take a holistic appraisal of agricultural programmes and schemes, with a view to streamlining them to meet the dynamics of times, for the benefits of the Nigerian citizenry. More funding has to be captured in the annual budget so as to boost the performance of the agricultural sector
