LEAN MANUFACTURING TOOLS FOR PRODUCTIVE IMPROVEMENT IN THE PRODUCTION PROCESS OF SMOKED CHICKENS
The main objective of this work is to demonstrate the applicability of the tools of Lean Manufacturing in the smoked chicken elaboration process in the Valtellina company of Píllaro canton, identifying the problems, quantifying the main waste of resources in order to improve the flow of process, eliminating those tasks that do not add value and allow it to adapt to market demands through process control tools such as the Kanban, which will allow me to level the production load and issue production orders. Lean Manufacturing a new production philosophy defines how to improve and optimize a production system focusing on identifying and eliminating all types of "waste", defined as those processes or activities that use more resources than strictly necessary. With this background the company Valtellina del Cantón Píllaro province of Tungurahua has decided to implement the Lean Manufacturing methodology in the production line of smoked chicken since it is aware of the advantages it offers by establishing a takt time before the implementation of 6.4 min / chicken now with 3 min / chicken, decreasing activities that do not add value by 35%, improving with standardized work at 76%, improvement of the production process by 68%. The improvement achieved in the production of smoked chicken was evaluated; By eliminating lean waste the production time was reduced by 22.8 minutes. In addition, the percentage of order fulfillment with Lean manufacturing in the company was increased to 73
A Hand-Based Biometric Verification System Using Ant Colony Optimization
This paper presents a novel personal authentication system using hand-based biometrics, which utilizes internal (beneath the skin) structure of veins on the dorsal part of the hand and the outer shape of the hand. The hand-vein and the hand-shape images can be simultaneously acquired by using infrared thermal and digital camera respectively. A claimed identity is authenticated by integrating these two traits based on the score-level fusion in which four fusion rules are used for the integration. Before their fusion, each modality is evaluated individually in terms of error rates and weights are assigned according to their performance. In order to achieve an adaptive security in the proposed bimodal system, an optimal selection of fusion parameters is required. Hence, Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) is employed in the bimodal system to select the weights and also one out of the four fusion rules optimally for the adaptive fusion of the two modalities to meet the user defined security levels. The databases of hand-veins and the hand-shapes consisting of 150 users are acquired using the peg-free imaging setup. The experimental results show genuine acceptance rate (GAR) of 98% at false acceptance rate (FAR) of 0.001% and the system has the potential for any online personal authentication based application.
Influence Analysis of Supply Chain Management and Supply Chain Flexibility to Competitive Advantage and Impact on Company Performance of Fish Processing in Bitung City
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of supply chain management and supply chain flexibility on company performance through competitive advantage. Samples are used through survey method on all fish processing companies that conduct export activities amounting to 21 companies. Data collection method is interview and questioner then analyzed with Partial Least Square (PLS). This research develops dimensions of supply chain management ie customer relationship management, internal supply chain management, supplier relationship management and supply chain flexibility to test relationships with competitive advantage and firm performance
The results show that supply chain management has a positive influence on competitive advantage and firm performance. Likewise, supply chain flexibility has a positive effect on competitive advantage and firm performance. Competitive advantage also has a positive influence on the performance of fish processing companies in Bitung City. Based on the results of the study can be concluded that the improvement of company performance is highly dependent on supply chain management practices, supply chain flexibility and competitive advantage. From these findings it is recommended that the company's management maintain and improve relationships with suppliers, customers and improve the internal supply chain to produce better value-added products and demand fulfillment. Supply chain flexibility is essential for any fish processing company in Bitung to measure the extent to which the supply chain can respond to fluctuations in demand and change. New breakthroughs in delivering diverse products or improving work quality will enable the company to work as effectively and efficiently as possible. Supply chain management practices and supply chain flexibility will ultimately improve competitive advantage and improve the performance of fish processing companies in Bitung City
A New Planning to Forecasting Fuel Consumption in Iran Transportation Using a Hybrid Algorithm and Artificial Neural Network
Forecasting fuel demand is one of the preconditions for energy planning and management. Fossil fuels, a major part of which is consumed in transportation, are one of the most important energies. Therefore, forecasting fuel demand in transportation is of particular importance. An MLP perceptron neural network has been proposed in this study, which is trained using a Hybrid algorithm. The hybrid algorithm is based on an imperialist competitive algorithm (ICA), in which the specifications of simulated annealing (SA) algorithm have been used. To perform the forecasting, the effective parameters on road transportation including the amounts of ton kilometer of transported goods, person kilometer of passengers, the average age of cargo fleet, and the average age of passenger fleet were identified. The results of the investigation indicate the effective performance of the proposed algorithm in ANN training
Assessing the energy security in Russia: the AHP approach
This paper develops a novel framework to assess the energy security (ES) of Russia. The framework is a mathematical model based on synergy of several researches in this field. First part of this research is literature review. Among 23 papers, 2 were selected as they had a good criteria classification system, combination of them was proofed to be the best for further framework development. Then, criteria weighting was conducted, using analytic hierarchy process (AHP), based on Russian legislative acts and risk analysis, provided by Russian authorities in “energy strategy 2035” normative act. As criteria were weighted, quantitative comparison became possible between reviewed papers. Comparison was conducted in 2 steps, first part is a brief comparison, based on amount of indexes and their comprehensivety. Second part included AHP, conducted based on weights from previous step, and ratios of index dimensions. As a result of AHP, 3 approaches were selected as equally satisfactory for evaluating Russian ES. To select the best one, data restrictions analysis was conducted. Thus, one approach was selected as a base for framework to assess ES for case of Russia. However, it needed to be formalized as it offered only qualitative assessment for part of indexes proposed. This task was successfully solved in this paper.  
Tolerance, Perceived Happiness and Economic Development: Exploring Relationships on Easterlin Variables for Latin America
In this study, we extend the study on perceived happiness by exploring the effect of tolerance on life satisfaction in a sample of 96 countries. Our results showed that tolerance was positively linked to life satisfaction. This result remained robust even after controlling a few potential determinants of subjective wellbeing. Even more, our results showed that Latin American countries are on average associated with higher levels of life satisfaction. Finally, we’ve found that economic development mediates the link between tolerance and life satisfaction. 
Hypersurfaces of constant curvature in hyperbolic space
We continue the work done in [2],[3] which investigates the problem of finding Weingarten hypersurfaces of constant curvature satisfying (1), (2) below in hyperbolic space with a prescribed asymptotic boundary at infinity.In [2], the focus is on the case of finding complete hypersurfaces with positive hyperbolic principal curvatures everywhere; in [3], the focus is on finding graphs over a domain with nonnegative mean curvature. In [2] and [3], some restriction is imposed on to assure us of the existence. The main aim of this article is to remove these restrictions. The results stated in the manuscript, as well as more general ones have been proved in [4] and [5] with a less elementary approach
An economic growth system based on cause-n-effect
In this paper an economic system is represented as a Causal Dynamical Network, (CDN). Each link of CDN exists due to cause-n-effect. each node is either a demand or supply node. The link between demand, and supply exists due to the existence of causality, here is taken as consumer/producer surplus which is a function of preference manifold. Growth is the existence of entropy in CDN. Entropy is measured as a metric probability, which measures change in local equilibrium. Localequilibrium is equilibrium on disordering locality links
