The Development of Technical and Vocational Education in Zimbabwe
Most of the young people in Zimbabwe lack the skills and knowledge that they need to change their lives because of the economic situation in Zimbabwe. Through vocational training centres students are trained in different fields giving them skills to use whether they choose to start their own business or to seek employment. Developed in 1990, the rationalisation of vocational and technical education policy sets the framework for TVET in Zimbabwe. The manpower planning and development Act regulates the management, operation and maintenance of TVET institutions, universities, teachers colleges and vocational training schemes. The act promotes human resource development, including apprenticeships and certification for skilled workers, it also establishes a training levy. This paper seeks to identify the current issues in vocational training in Zimbabwe as well as the challenges that the country is facing in attempting to implement vocational training in its educational system. Finally the paper will also suggest possible solutions or ideas to the new government of Zimbabwean how to address the problems of vocational education and training
Experimental Study on the Mechanical Properties of Concrete using Iron Waste as Partial Replacement of Fine Aggregate
Plenty of Iron waste is available from steel plant, Sohar and it will affect the environment when it is dumped in soil. Also, every year huge quantity of concrete is used for building construction in Oman. In this project work, iron waste was collected from Sohar steel plant and was mixed with concrete. The aim of this study is to determine the mechanical properties of concrete with iron waste to be compared with normal concrete. The percentages of iron waste can be added to concrete as 0%, 10%, 15% and 20% were based on literature review. For experimental work, cubes were casted with iron waste. Also, slump test was conducted to measure the workability of fresh concrete. Furthermore, density of concrete with and without iron waste was determined. Finally, compressive strength test of concrete cubes was done for C30 grade concrete. Test result shows that compressive strength is reducing by increasing iron waste percentage
Features of Programming Languages and Algorithm for Calculating the Effectiveness
The article provides information on the basics of software engineering, programming and programming languages. Software engineering is also defined as a systematic approach to the analysis, scheduling, design, evaluation, implementation, testing, service and software upgrading. Thinking and the peculiarities of the algorithmic peculiarities are clarified, and the mechanism of their use in programming is explained. Programming theory incorporates the formal methods based on software specifications and the method based on the mathematical subjects and provides program development using mathematical symbols and ensures the accuracy to obtain the required results on the computer. The principles of using graphs in programming and dynamic programming are analyzed. The concepts of programming technology and programming languages are described. The criteria for evaluating the programming languages are identified and an algorithm is developed for calculating the effectiveness
An Analysis of Government Expenditure on Health and Its Impact on Under-Five Mortality in Ghana
This paper investigates the effectiveness of health expenditure on under-five year mortality in Ghana between 1985 and 2014 using multiple linear regression. The result obtained shows that per capita gross domestic product (GDP), health expenditure and immunization against measles reduces under-five mortality. However, corruption which measures the effectiveness of governance increases under-five mortality. The policy implication is that achieving the Millennium Development Goal of lowering under-five year mortality rate by two-thirds in Ghana may be unattainable if the level of corruption is not reduced considerably
Measurement of Bank Efficiency using DEAP Analysis in Bank Central Asia
This paper aim is to using the DEAP analysis to measure the efficiency value of Bank Central Asia, which is the largest bank private owned bank in Indonesia. By since nowadays the higher efficient of the one company is means the more profits gained from the business. DEA is a computer program to conduct linear pregaming methods to create a non-parametric piecewise surface over data to calculate the efficiency relative to the surface. The concept of efficiency according to business dictionary efficiency is the comparison of what is actually produced or performed with what can be achieved with the same consumption of resources or inputs (money, time, labor, etc.
Research on the Non-linear Relationship between Inter-Regional Industrial Transfer and Technological Innovation Ability of the Western Region
Based on the panel data of 11 provinces and autonomous regions in 2000-2015 in western region, this paper studies the non-linear relationship between inter-regional industrial transfer and technological innovation capability by using panel smoothing transformation (PSTR) model. Different from the existing research, this paper chooses variables such as the urbanization, human capital, economic openness and the technological gap between enterprises in the eastern, middle and western regions as the conversion variables. It is found that there is a single threshold for the above conversion variables. With the continuous increase of the level of the conversion variables, there is a smooth transition mechanism between inter-regional industries and technological innovation. The results show that all of the transitional variables have single thresholds respectively, and inter-regional industrial transfer has a positive impact on regional technology innovation capability when the transitional variables exceed their thresholds and PSTR models tend to high regime
Citation analysis of the state owned commercial banks research field based on Histcite
Multiple of empirical researchers have found that State-owned commercial banks in various countries have positive effect on the economic growth and financial stability. This paper studies the research literature related to the state owned banks using an online subscription based scientific citation indexing. Wed of Science database is explored for the core data collection for the state-owned banks research literatures and its historical context, using bibliometric analysis software "Histcite" to converts bibliographic collections into generate sequences, transforming the non-numerical data into a graphic format, pointing out the important achievements and development trend of the related fields of state-owned banks
Analysis of National Patent Cooperation between Jiangsu Province and the Belt and Road Initiative
With the further advancement of the “One Belt, One Road” strategy, patent cooperation between Jiangsu Province and countries along the route has been further strengthened. At the US Patent and Trademark Office (USTPO) and the Jiangsu Provincial Productivity Promotion Center, we searched for cooperation patents and technology alliances between China and 65 countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, and analyzed the current situation of time series distribution, spatial distribution, and main technical fields. The results show that: ①Science and technology cooperation generally maintains a growth trend, which can be divided into three stages: start-up period, volatility growth period and rapid growth period; ②the cooperation area presents an unbalanced feature, and the cooperation patents of the top five countries account for 85.06% of the total. ③The technical fields and directions of cooperation are more focused, and the cooperation patents are concentrated in the fields of electricity, human life, and physics. ④ Technology transfer and paper cooperation are mainly distributed in West Asia, South Asia, CIS, Eastern Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, and lack of innovative cooperation with East Asia and Central Asia. The conclusions of the study can provide reference for further scientific cooperation and policy formulation in the future

STABILITY ANALYSIS OF THE MODIFIED ADVECTION-DISPERSION MODEL FOR NITRATE LEACHING INTO GROUNDWATER
Nitrogen is a vital nutrient that enhances plant growth which has motivated the intensive use of nitrogen-based fertilizers to boost crop productivity. However, Pollution by nitrate is a globally growing problem due to the population growth, increase in the demand for food and inappropriate Nitrogen application. The complexities and challenges in quantifying nitrate leaching have led to development of a range of measurement and modeling techniques. However, most of them are not widely applied due to their inaccuracy. This calls for new approaches in which nitrate leaching can be analysed in order to give better understanding of nitrate fate and transport process for proper management of groundwater. This study presents a mathematical model to analyse nitrate leaching into groundwater from the advection-dispersion equation. The advection-dispersion equation is modified by incorporating soil porosity and volumetric water content of the soil. The stability of the model has been performed by the Von Neumann stability condition after performing descritization using the Cranck-Nicolson scheme and finite difference scheme. The model is conditionally stable for all ranges of angle(κ), when Von Neumann stability condition is applied for both the Cranck-Nicolson scheme and finite difference scheme. The results provide science-based input into best alternative mathematical model which can be used to analyse leaching of nitrate into groundwater
