    Pi from Probability Approach

    Get PDF
In this paper I introduced a new Probability mass function (Pmf) that is named as Pavan’s Pmf then used first and second raw moments of that distribution and De Moivre-Laplace theorem for large n later equated probability functions of binomial and normal distribution at model value to derive the formula for Pi

Amenability of heap leaching technology on uranium extraction from Gattar and El Missikat area, Eastern Desert, Egypt: A kinetic approach

    Get PDF
Studies of uranium heap leaching from different uranium mineralization situated in Eastern Desert of Egypt was investigated via batch experiments, followed by its optimum condition applicationon column percolationtests. The optimum process operating parameters were implemented on large column scale in order to make more condition control and evaluate the time and reagents needed in the large scale. The results show thatleaching efficiency of GIIattained about 78.3% with 34kg/ton acid consumption in a 44 days period, while leaching efficiency of El-Missikat attained about 86.6% with 28kg/ton acid consumption in a 40 days period.Kinetics reaction models of column tests have been investigated to optimize the column leaching behavior. Based on the leaching results of two mineralized samples, the rate of the uranium metal dissolution is controlled by the chemical reaction and the diffusion reaction but diffusion reaction control was more predominate than a chemical reaction control

Forecasting Stock Market Realized Volatility using decomposition

    Get PDF
Empirical studies concerned with realized volatility reveal the presence of heterogeneous behavior within the stock market. The sum of this heterogeneous behavior takes a persistent form, which may be modeled and forecasted according to different time horizons by the class of HAR models. In this paper, we investigate the HAR-RV and HAR-RV-CJ models for high-frequency data based on five realized volatility indices. The aim here is to demonstrate that the predictability of realized volatility can be improved by decomposing realized variance into its continuous and jump components. What is more, the results show that this decomposition of the realized variance into its components does indeed enhance the modeling and forecasting of the indices’ realized volatility.&nbsp

    Get PDF
In this work, state the risk and treatment of coronary artery disease our aim. The weighted fuzzy parameterized complex multi-fuzzy soft expert set plays the main roads to arrive a maple treatment. We take a reality values of the a asymptotes systolic blood pressure, lowdensity lipoprotein cholesterol, maximum heart rate, blood sugar, old peak and age of nine patients and transform by FORTRAN program to weighted fuzzy parameterized complex multifuzzy soft expert set. By Kong algorithm state the positive and negative decision, from these decisions state the degree of risk and treatments. Our decision helps the hospital doctor to state the treatments drug therapy or intervention

Analysis of proton structure function at small x

    Get PDF
Deep Inelastic Scattering (DIS) is one of the phenomenological events in order to understand the structure of proton along with the density of partons. The HERA run had given a new understanding of the structure of hadrons. In the present work, we have plotted the graphs between momentum transfer squared Q2 = 8.5 GeV2 and Q2 = 1600 GeV2 and found that the proton structure function F2(x,Q2) decreases gradually with the increase in scaling factor Q2. This conforms with the existing theories. The structure function is more significant at small Bjorken x but with the increase in x, the structure function decreases. The larger the x value, the chances of understanding the structure function seemingly become less

Theory of Necessary Energy for Electron to Exit from conductor

    Get PDF
A model of a conductor consisting of a positive charge that uniformly fills a certain volume and is absent outside it, and an electron gas whose total charge is equal to a positive charge are considered. The electron density outside the conductor should tend to zero, while remaining a continuous function of coordinates. It is assumed that the electron density is proportional to some continuous function, which depends on the coordinate perpendicular to the surface of the conductor. This function depends on the parameter, which is determined from the requirement of a minimum of additional energy arising as a result of the exit of a certain number of electrons outside the conductor. The inhomogeneous density of the negative charge does not compensate for the homogeneous density of the positive charge. As a result, an electrostatic potential is created inside the conductor. Above the Fermi level, an exponential potential well is formed. Zero of this potential well is located in the center of the conductor. Under the boundary condition that the eigenfunctions vanish at the conductor boundary, a discrete energy spectrum is obtained for an electron above the Fermi level. To go beyond the surface of a conductor, an electron from the Fermi level must receive energy no less than the lowest level of the energy spectrum of a potential well. This explains the laws of the photoelectric effect. The problem is considered for a spherical particle and a flat plate. The smoothing parameter and the minimum energy for the electron exit turn out to be different

The Validity of CET-6 among Chinese Students Studying Overseas

    Get PDF
This paper focuses on the validity of College English Test Band 6 (CET-6) in oversea life among Chinese students to find out whether the scores of CET-6 can truly reflect students’ English language ability and whether it is possible to use the scores of CET-6 as a proof for English language proficiency. To do the survey, we conducted the survey by quantitative research methods with 50 samples in Universiti Putra Malaysia(UPM). After the collection and analysis of data, some current issues about the assessment standards of CET-6 are found, and suggestions are also given to improve the validity of CET-6

BOARD COMPOSITION IN FAMILY BUSINESS AND PERFORMANCE IN GHANA: ROLE OF CEO DUALITY AND TYPE OF DIRECTORS

    Get PDF
Over decades now, studies on board compositions have been centered on well-structured market and institutions to the disadvantage of small and medium firms who are also drivers of growth. This paper therefore seeks to examine how non-listed private family owned firms’ performance are affected by certain board structural characteristics. Using hierarchical regression analysis with 319 firms in Ghana, on one hand the result reveals that a higher proportion of non-executive directors impacted negatively on the positive effect of CEO duality. On the other hand, we could not adduce any evidence to suggest that family firms’ board of directors’ diversity have influence on the impact of non-executive director’s effect on performance. We therefore proposed that growing non-listed family firms should lessen the use of non-executive directors when the CEO plays dual role in the firm. The study therefore provides empirical evidence that composition of board of privately owned family firms affect performance and further gives insight and credence to the need to influence the application of good corporate governance in such businesses and in a faction different from what has been suggested in general literature of boar

Gender and improvisation managerial situations in a project context: a comparative study between two countries (France-Senegal)

    Get PDF
This article is interested in the managerial approach of projects. Its purpose is to study the influence of gender when actors involved in projects face managerial situations that are sources of organizational improvisation. It starts from the triple observation of a emergence of several situations problematic and contextualized generated by the project activity and requiring new skills from the actors who are responsible for it, amasculinization of project management practices and a growing number of women who come to positions of power in projects. We conducted a quantitative questionnaire survey of 377 project actors (including 84 in Senegal) who experienced 6107 managerial situations. After having constructed the variable "organizational improvisation" with the two variables "uncertainty" and "temporal pressure", the chi-square independence tests with the X-SAT solution made it possible to identify project management situations that organizational improvisation.Variance analyzes make it possible to note statistically insignificant gender differences when actors working in a project context face improvising situations. In the context of improvisation, the level of study of the actors interviewed plays a predominant role where age has very little influence

Inability of organizations to modify or reconfigure their operational capabilities in line with changing business environment constitute major problem of survival for the affected organizations. In the light of this observation, the research sought as its broad objective to explore the relationship between transformation capability and employee performance of selected manufacturing firms in Delta State. The theory adopted for this study is Dynamic Capability Theory by David Teece (1997.) Survey Research design was employed in the study. Population of the study was 322 employees of the focused companies, while Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was used in testing the hypotheses. The study found that there was a significant relationship between learning capabilities and  employee performance in the focused manufacturing organizations  in Delta State. The study concluded that transformation capability contributes immensely to employee performance and recommended that manufacturing firms should train their employees to be capable of making informed decisions for the growth of the firms
