IoT based real-time synchronized clock
This thesis report is submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2018.Cataloged from PDF version of thesis.Includes bibliographical references (page 49-50).Maintaining the perfect timing is a necessity in every human life. We all are accustomed to clocks, both the analog and its digital counterpart. But, different clocks, even within the same geographical position, show different times. They are not synchronized. This problem of de-synchronization and all the trouble it causes has motivated us to look for a feasible solution. Keeping in mind the course of current technological progress, we have proposed an IoT based solution to the problem of de-synchronization. We have come up with a digital clock which is smart enough to update its time with the help of internet by fetching the time from NTP servers at a regular interval and displaying it. We describe, in this paper, our system, its methodology, hardware and software implementation, integration and synthesis of different components, its technical and financial aspects, and finally, the future works.Mohammad Moinul HaqAakash RabbiMustafa JamilAraf ZahinB. Operation process of Owlsyard
This internship report is submitted in a partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Masters of Business Administration, 2018.Catalogued from PDF version of internship report.Includes bibliographical references (page 19).This report is a requirement for completing my MBA degree. Here I have tried to incorporate the
process of freelancing operation through our startup business Owlsyard. As our company belong
to the web development service industry and our main source of work is based on freelancing
website Upwork. This report will help to recognize the process of operation. Owlsyard, it has
started it journey from October 2015. In this report I have tried to explain the whole operation
process along with my job responsibilities in this report. In addition this report also contains the
challenges we face during our day to day activity. Moreover I have a few recommendations for
Owlsyard, as a part of Owlsyard, if we can bring up the changes as mentioned in
recommendation part I think it will grow faster and we will have a better chance at sustaining in
the long run. Finally this report has a SWOT analysis which will help Owlsyard to explore their
capabilities and to maintain sustainable growth in future.Mahbubul AlamM. Business Administratio
Enhanced energy detection using matched filter for spectrum sensing in cognitive radio networks
This thesis is submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering, 2018.Cataloged from PDF version of thesis.Includes bibliographical references (pages 45-46).Cognitive Radio (CR) deals with the designing of intelligent wireless communication systems through the use of transceivers that are capable of automatically detecting and accessing vacant communication channels in the radio bandwidth while avoiding the ones occupied, with the aim of maximizing the utilization of the Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum and minimizing the interference of users. In primary transmitter detection i.e. non-cooperative spectrum sensing, the licensed primary users (PUs) are detected based on the signal received by the unlicensed secondary users (SUs). This paper provides an insight into one such method, namely, the energy detection technique, which has low computational and implementation complexities, and is extremely generic. However, the detection of weak PU signals across a noisy channel is a challenging endeavor and calls for a more sophisticated approach. A matched filter can be used to obtain additional information regarding the channel activity, help individuate the transmitted pulses from the noise and reduce the effects of unlicensed signal interference. The proposed algorithm attains results from a matched filter and implements it within the energy detector, analyzing the signals over an Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel for a range of Signal-to-Noise Ratios (SNRs), which are then evaluated through Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curves with probability of detection (Pd) and probability of false alarm (Pf) as performance metrics.Pramit Likhan SarkerUmme SalamaB. Disclosure and compliance of IAS 16 in DSE listed pharmaceuticals companies in Bangladesh
This internship report is submitted in a partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Business Administration, 2018.Includes bibliographical references (page 21).Cataloged from PDF version of internship report. This report presents the findings of the study conducted under the title ‘Disclosure and Compliance of IAS 16 in DSE listed Pharmaceuticals Companies in Bangladesh’. A comprehensive checklist based on IAS 16 was built. In addition to that, the annual reports of the DSE listed Pharmaceutical companies were examined in order to cross-check against the checklist. After that, some statistical measures were taken to yield the overall compliance composition. Some important issues from the checklist were presented graphically. The study shows that in spite of 54% compliance composition score, a significant amount of sample falls under the non-compliance and not applicable condition. However, the study contains a few impediments for which the investigation cannot be generalised for all the DSE listed Pharmaceuticals companies.Sk. Abdullah Al-MumenB. Business Administratio

Social media as a new gateway to digital literacy in EAP classrooms: a study among students and English teachers of tertiary level in Dhaka
This thesis report is submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Masters of Arts in Teaching to Speakers of Other Languages, 2018.Cataloged from PDF version of Thesis.Includes bibliographical references (page 31-32).Digital literacy—which refers to the knowledge, skills, and behaviors involving the effective use of digital devices (such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop PCs) for communication, collaboration and advocacy—has become a crucial factor in academic purposes as well. The use of digital literacy at EAP (English for Academic Purposes) classrooms is gaining gradual popularity. Teachers are adopting different ways to evaluate EAP classrooms. If we think about social media as a form of digital literacy in the English language classrooms, we find teachers using Facebook, twitter, viber, WhatsApp etc. to facilitate learning besides textbooks and regular forms of instructions. The main purpose of this study was to investigate whether and to what extent social media is being used by teachers and students at the tertiary level as a tool of ICT inside and outside the classrooms. The study also investigated teachers’ attitudes and skills in the usage of social media as a supportive/alternative tool in teaching. This study finally provides a guideline for the students and teachers both about the usage of social media in digital literacy in English classroom. This study also provided an overview of the current state of the situation and students feedback on their learning, expectations. The level of expertise of instructors in dealing with social media was also evaluated.Ishrat Jahan AnannyaM. in TESO
