Impact of Image Enhancement Filters on Road Defect Detection Using Deep Learning
ABSTRACTThe maintenance of road pavements is essential to ensuring the safety and efficiency of land transportation. With advancements in artificial intelligence and deep learning, new possibilities have emerged for automating pavement defect detection. However, the quality of the images used to train these models plays a crucial role in their performance, as variations in lighting or high contrast can compromise the precise identification of defects. In this study, we analyzed the impact of image preprocessing techniques on defect detection using a deep learning model. The CLAHE (Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization), LIME (Low-Light Image Enhancement), and gamma adjustment methods were applied, along with unprocessed images. The experiments revealed that the LIME method achieved the best performance, with 78,8% mAP, 91,1% in Precision, 86% in Recall, and an F1 Score of 74%. This study highlights that preprocessing techniques are promising tools for improving the accuracy and reliability of deep learning models applied to the automated detection of defects in asphalt pavement surfaces, significantly contributing to the development of more efficient and accessible pavement management systems
Simulador Interativo para Programação na Arquitetura de Processadores RISC-V
AbstractThe RISC-V architecture, recognized for its modularity and efficiency,faces challenges due to the limited availability of educationalresources. To address this issue, an interactive web simulator wasdeveloped based on the RV32I instruction set, using the Angularframework, with an interface integrated into a core comprising acode parser, assembler, and processor, enabling both continuousand step-by-step execution. The simulator’s validation confirmedthe proper functioning of essential features, including code editing,assembling, execution, and visualization of registers and memory.This simulator is intended for students, educators, and embeddedsystems designers in projects involving the RISC-V architecture,serving as a teaching tool in computer architecture courses
Panorama das Pesquisas sobre Pensamento Computacional e Ensino de Computação no Ensino Fundamental: Um Mapeamento Sistemático
ABSTRACTThis work is being developed within the scope of Manna_Team. Computational Thinking (CT) has become an increasingly important skill in education, particularly in Elementary Education, due to the growing digitalization of society. This systematic mapping provides an overview of research on computer science education and the development of CT at the elementary school level, focusing on methodologies, technological tools, application contexts, and results obtained between 2012 and 2024. The review covers 49 articles and highlights current trends such as the use of visual programming platforms, educational robotics, unplugged teaching, and gamification. The study also emphasizes the challenges and opportunities for integrating CT into school curricula, analyzes the pedagogical practices adopted, and proposes directions for future research and improvements in teacher training
Gamificando e Explorando as Soft Skills em um Projeto de Ensino, Pesquisa, Extensão e Desenvolvimento: Análise das Percepções dos Estudantes Membros
ABSTRACTThe computer professional’s resume goes beyond technical skillsto stay active. Therefore, the project LearningLab, which coversseveral sub-areas of computing, investigates which soft skills weredeveloped and how they will be improved with gamification. Themethodology includes: (i) Literature review; (ii) Application of questionnaire;(iii) Preliminary analysis of results; (iv) Creation of agamified system; and (v) Collection and analysis of data from thegamified system. Preliminary data, collected quantitatively via anonline questionnaire, identified the main soft skills by sector andthose most desired by members. Gamification is expected to promotethe exciting development of these skills
Da Robótica à Inclusão Digital: Fortalecendo a Presença Feminina na Computação com Pesquisa e Extensão
ABSTRACTThis paper presents an experience report of a scientific initiation project that integrates research and extension activities with the goal of increasing female participation in computing and promoting digital inclusion. Based on the principles of experiential learning, the project organized a series of practical and interactive activities, including educational robotics workshops using LEGO Mindstorms, unplugged computing dynamics, and discussion circles about women's presence in technology. The initiatives also involved career mentorships conducted in partnership with influential professionals and educational institutions, as well as a workshop aimed at the digital inclusion of indigenous women. The results were evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively, highlighting the positive impact of the activities on increasing confidence, participants' interest in technological areas, and the promotion of a more inclusive environment. Finally, this work reinforces the importance of connecting research and extension to foster diversity and strengthen female leadership in technology, presenting a replicable model for other educational initiatives
ANTi-Mafia: Desenvolvimento de Jogo Digital na Graduação com Ferramentas Abertas e Acessíveis
ResumoThis article shares the experience of undergraduate studentsin technology who developed a digital game called "ANTi-Mafia"while exploring accessible game development toolsand methodologies. Despite challenges such as time constraints,lack of experience, and no financial backing, theproject demonstrated that high-quality games can be producedwith minimal investment using free and open-sourcetools. The process emphasized the importance of the rightmethodology for successful learning and project development.The game currently features 6 levels and uses the topdown shooter genre mechanics

ResumoThe concept of accessibility has recently emerged as a prominenttopic of discourse within our society, particularly concerning digitalaccessibility, which exerts a growing influence on our lives and theoperations of businesses. This article delves into the salient issuesassociated with the creation of PDF technical documents pertinentto automation products, with a focus on ensuring accessibility forindividuals afflicted with dyslexia, a specific learning disorder thatmanifests as impaired reading. The study encompasses an examinationof the primary challenges encountered by these individualsin comprehending and interpreting information, along with themethodologies employed in the creation of accessible documentsand the prevailing standards that govern their development. Toillustrate the concepts discussed, a technical document on variablefrequency drives available on the market is analyzed. The accessibilityof a specific PDF technical document is evaluated based onrecommendations from the "Adobe Acrobat Pro"[2] and "CommonLook PDF Validador"[4] software.The document is modified to improveaccessibility, and the article concludes with an analysis ofthe results of the modified PDF document and future perspectives
Explorando Padrões de Captura e Comprimento do Tubarão azul (Prionace glauca) por meio da Visualização de Dados no Sudoeste do Oceano Atlântico
ABSTRACTThe present study developed a dashboard to analyze the patterns ofthe spatial and temporal distribution of catches and lengths ofmarine species, with a particular focus on the blue shark (Prionaceglauca), in the southwestern Atlantic Ocean, a region consideredcritical for the species due to the presence of parturition areas andjuvenile nursery grounds. The data were collected from commercialpelagic longline fisheries between 2017 and 2024, through onboardmonitoring and landing records. Additionally, biometric data forblue sharks were obtained during field expeditions conducted byUNIVALI/LEMA professionals or provided by companies duringtheir site visits. The results of this study are presented in real timethrough a dashboard, offering an interactive platform to explore andvisualize dynamic graphs of blue shark

ConectaMães: Rede social de apoio que auxilia a troca de experiências parentais
ResumoNa atualidade, as redes sociais digitais possuem impacto significativo no modo como o indivíduo enxerga e se apresenta na sociedade. Nesse contexto, a mídia digital possui efeito sobre as relações familiares, podendo repercutir ideias patriarcais, que geram uma pressão pela busca da maternidade perfeita, ou desafiá-las em busca de uma sociedade mais igualitária que não se prenda a padrões de gênero nessas relações. Assim, o presente projeto possui como proposta um sistema web que atue como uma rede social oferecendo um espaço virtual adequado para que mães e outros responsáveis legais possam compartilhar experiências ou atender a pedidos de auxílio relacionados à parentalidade. Inspirado pelo feminismo matricentrico, que destaca narrativas maternas online relacionadas a ressignificar papéis sociais e expor desigualdades estruturais na maternidade patriarcal, o sistema busca promover um ambiente acolhedor. Portanto, o objetivo do sistema é contribuir para a criação de uma rede de apoio virtual significativa, onde aqueles que praticam cuidados parentais possam se sentir acolhidos e confortáveis para compartilhar experiências e encontrar suporte de forma colaborativa
