    No full text
Universities around the world have been using electronic learning systems more and more in recent years. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Mongolian universities are changing the way of teaching online and thus starting from the second semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. The purpose of this study is to investigate the satisfaction of students towards e-learning and the factors affecting it. 321 first-year students of the School of Nursing of NUMS participated in this survey, the survey questionnaire filled in Google form, and received by electronically. The relationship between satisfaction and its influencing factors was evaluated by using the Pearson test (correlation coefficient). According to the indicators of the research results, students\u27 satisfaction is the most satisfied with learning materials (4.16), student engagement (4.15), and the lowest with e-educational technology (3.25). Due to this, there is a didactic need to improve the quality of e-learning and to update the lesson technology. Students\u27 satisfaction level had a direct strong positive correlation (r=0.65) with grade (r=0.65) and a weak direct positive correlation (r=0.38) with lesson access (p<0.001), and e-learning satisfaction scores had a direct correlation (p<0.001) to the quality of teaching, supply of learning materials, assessment, and student engagement

Summary. QR codes are not a new phenomenon, yet their use for advertising in public spaces has become more frequent during the last years. The growing digitalization of our society, and especially smartphones and mobile internet access, have brought more attention to this technology. Nevertheless, it is still not entirely clear which applications of QR codes are really useful and for which scenarios they will become generally accepted. The contribution discusses the technical side of barcode-structures and focuses on the form of QR codes and on its semiotic aspects. It investigates how recipients understand the uses of QR codes and what kind of knowledge is needed to recognize and to successfully use them. The general aim is to understand the potential and the limits of QR codes as a new type of sign in the public space

Binäre Diskurskonstruktionen als mentale Realitäts- und Möglichkeitskonstruktionen. Exemplifiziert am ‚Dramatischen Dialog‘ des 16. bis 18. Jh.*

Summary. This contribution explains the notion of discourse constructions, and presents aspects of the analysis of two binary discourse constructions, wer p, (der) q and wenn p, (dann/so) q. These binary constructions serve to define relations between elements on the basis of the conditional schema but in different ways, namely as an objective reality or as a possibility that needs to be evaluated, respectively. The conception of discourse constructions is related to Mental Space Theory, which considers knowledge structures as representations that are being integrated, selected, composed, and elaborated within mental spaces during interactions. Depending on the space builder, different inferences are drawn that point to social practices either as quasi objective or as negotiable. The cognitive approach of constructional grammar is combined with the philosophical question of how the self and its realities become visible through social interaction. Evidence from a corpus of 16th to 18th century drama is presented that supports the theoretical assumptions

An Energy-aware Ad-hoc Routing Strategy for Queriable Wireless Sensor Networks

    Get PDF
The data volume handled by wireless sensor networks (WSN) is ever growing due to increasing node counts and node complexity – be it in traditional WSN applications or for Car2X or Internet-of-Things. Queriable WSN are a concept to handle the large data volumes in such networks by abstracting the network as a virtual database table to which users can pose queries. This declarative approach enables networks which can flexibly adapt to changing application requirements. In addition they possess a flat learning curve since users do not need to have a high technological understanding of the sensor node firmware. Upon executing a query it is first propagated through the network and once it has reached the desired nodes, results are collected and send back through the query-posing node (usually the sink). The routing which is used for the data aggregation step plays a major role in the energy efficiency in networks with increasing node and sensor value counts as represented by Car2X networks for instance. In this paper, an ad-hoc routing strategy for queriable WSN is proposed which is both energy-aware and application-specific. It will be shown that this routing can contribute greatly towards decreasing the energy consumption needed for data aggregation and thus helps increasing the network’s lifespan

The increasing attention to artificial intelligence technologies in daily life and the need to consider it as a priority topic for students in the twenty-first century clearly leads to artificial intelligence (AI) integration in higher education. Therefore, university teachers must be properly prepared to use AI in their teaching for successful integration. In this study, the researcher aimed to survey to investigate Bangladeshi university teachers\u27 attitudes toward AI as a teaching tool. The survey results showed that teachers have minimal understanding of Artificial Intelligence and its assistance in the classroom. However, they considered it as an educational possibility. The findings indicated that teachers require assistance to be effective and competent in their teaching practices; the findings suggested that AI has the potential to contribute as an assistant

Low Latency Reliable Data Sharing Mechanism for UAV Swarm Missions

    Get PDF
The use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) swarms is increasing in many commercial applications as well as military applications (such as reconnaissance missions, search and rescue missions). Autonomous UAV swarm systems rely on multi-node interhost communication, which is used in coordination for complex tasks. Reliability and low latency in data transfer play an important role in the maintenance of UAV coordination for these tasks. In these applications, the control of UAVs is performed by autonomous software and any failure in data reception may have catastrophic consequences. On the other hand, there are lots of factors that affect communication link performance such as path loss, interference, etc. in communication technology (WIFI, 5G, etc.), transport layer protocol, network topology, and so on. Therefore, the necessity of reliable and low latency data sharing mechanisms among UAVs comes into prominence gradually. This paper examines available middleware solutions, transport layer protocols, and data serialization formats. Based on evaluation results, this research proposes a middleware concept for mobile wireless networks like UAV swarm systems

Tieftemperatur-Dauerbiegeprüfung von Faserseilen (konstruktive Entwicklung eines Versuchstandes)

    Get PDF

    Get PDF
A permanently installed rope monitoring system can help to avoid unplanned downtimes and increase the safety level. The aim here is to set up a rope monitoring system that helps to monitor the hoisting rope as a critical component and to minimise downtimes in the context of "predictive maintenance". The already applied magnetic inductive rope testing can be used as a testing method. The paper deals with the topic of integrating such a permanently installed testing device, its use and evaluation strategies, and it identifies possibilities for new business areas for rope testing

Baganuur Southeast Electricity Distribution Network 15 kV electrical transmission line interruptions research was conducted, and a factor analysis was performed to determine the conditions of the line outage. Due to the neutral grounding of the 15 kV electrical transmission line and the relatively small distance between the line wires and crossbar, there is a high incidence of grounding during the landing and flight of birds, which hurts the reliable operation and ecology of the line. Therefore, the structure of the poles changed, and the results are reflected
