Real-time Vehicle Detection, Tracking and Counting System Based on YOLOv7

    Get PDF
The importance of real-time vehicle detection tracking and counting system based on YOLOv7 is an important tool for monitoring traffic flow on highways. Highway traffic management, planning, and prevention rely heavily on real-time traffic monitoring technologies to avoid frequent traffic snarls, moving violations, and fatal car accidents. These systems rely only on data from timedependent vehicle trajectories used to predict online traffic flow. Three crucial duties include the detection, tracking, and counting of cars on urban roads and highways as well as the calculation of statistical traffic flow statistics (such as determining the real-time vehicles flow and how many different types of vehicles travel). Important phases in these systems include object detection, tracking, categorizing, and counting. The YOLOv7 identification method is presented to address the issues of high missed detection rates of the YOLOv7 algorithm for vehicle detection on urban highways, weak perspective perception of small targets, and insufficient feature extraction. This system aims to provide real-time monitoring of vehicles, enabling insights into traffic patterns and facilitating informed decision-making. In this paper, vehicle detecting, tracking, and counting can be calculated on real-time videos based on modified YOLOv7 with high accuracy

With the increase of population aging, chronic diseases and accidental injuries, more and more people are facing the plight of diminished or even lost walking ability. As a kind of mobile service robot, the smart wheelchair has strong environmental adaptability, smooth motion control and friendly human-computer interaction experience, and is an indispensable tool in rehabilitation engineering and elderly assistance engineering, which has important research value and social significance. In this paper, the system structure framework of the multi-function smart wheelchair and the specific technical scheme of each module are formulated based on the modular design idea, and the intelligent control hardware platform with Arduino UNO controller as the core is built to complete the control software writing, and an intelligent wheelchair for the elderly and disabled guardianship is designed. This multi-function smart wheelchair combined with IoT technology can realize distance navigation, obstacle avoidance, medication reminder, sign measurement, remote monitoring, GPS positioning, and upload information through OneNET cloud platform, which can view the location of the wheelchair and the safety status of the elderly from the map in real time in the cell phone APP and PC backstage, in order to improve the control and monitoring capability of the wheelchair

Hardware Software Co-Design for Impact Localization using Hybrid Laminates

    Get PDF
Impact detection using piezoelectric sensors is an actual and widespread research field. The current work provides an approach for a real-time realization of an impact detection system using deep learning methods. For realization a hardware software co-design approach is used utilizing hardware acceleration by a continuous pipelining FPGA structure. The concept describes the hardware software partitioning of the underlying functions and the methodology for ensuring continuous data processing and the associated real-time capability. The behavior of the hardware is realized with the help of a finite state machine and thus the correctness of the data is ensured and the impact identification is realized. The results show the real-time capability as well as a reasonable resource utilization of the FPGA design

A Role of Training in The Successful Implementation of Hospital Information Systems

    Get PDF
The adoption of HIS has many benefits including reduced waiting time, errors, less paperwork and errors, and easy data retrieval and reporting. The research aims to define whether the training provided by the IT department has an effect on the successful implementation of HIS at the hospital. System and information qualities were significantly associated with the benefit of HIS. Data taken from 296 hospital employees of Mongolian Japan Hospital is used to assess the effect of the implementation of HIS on employee satisfaction and individual benefit. Training had a mediating role in enhancing the effects of system and information quality effects on net benefits perceived by employees. Assessing individual training results may lead to the effective administration of training at the hospitals

This article focuses on the development of a methodology aimed at fostering the digital competence of future engineering pedagogues through the utilization of digital tools. With the digital transformation of the education system, it becomes imperative to adapt the methods of working with educational stakeholders. The creation of a digital educational environment involves equipping organizations with modern equipment and advancing digital services and content. Future engineering pedagogues require digital competencies to effectively integrate digital technologies into the educational process. This article presents a concept for the methodology, which involves the design of practical tasks at three levels: basic, intermediate, and advanced. The results of an experiment conducted with students demonstrate that the proposed methodology yields higher grades compared to traditional methods. The findings underscore the importance of empowering engineering pedagogues with digital competences to prepare students for the digital era

Some Results of the Study on Determining Digital Competence Needs of Citizens

    Get PDF
Nowadays, when the digitalization is happening around the world, someone who uses computers, mobile devices and other equipment well, easily browses, searches and filters data, information and is able to create digital content, is considered as a person with basic digital skills. In this context, the Government of Mongolia announced to become a "Digital Nation" and to form competitive and creative citizens as well as enhance the quality of life of Mongolian citizens. At the core of this policy, there will be citizens who have the appropriate skills of utilizing ICT. The research was carried out with the aim to identify the digital skills needed by citizens on a daily basis and determining the current state of digital skills. There is a need to review some of the competences included in the 12 competency frameworks with 3 domains developed by the Universal ICT Competency Framework Working Group, and improve and compare to competences in other countries. Newly identified competence groups need to be redefined based on the research. In order to support/develop citizens’ digital skills necessary for everyday use, special programs will be required to be implemented that reflect\consider their place of residence, age, gender, employment and household income

Applied AI Solutions on Edge Devices

    Get PDF
Call for submission. This editorial introduces the first issue of 2023 for Embedded Selforganising Systems (ESS) journal. The focus of this issue is the deployment of AI solutions in robotics and embedded systems. Our journal uses electronic publication, which provides a flexible way to submit and review contributions of authors from all countries. The advantages of such an e-journal are multifarious. In comparison to traditional paper journals, we replace the classic review and creation process with a new sliding issue model. Each issue starts with an initial editorial and an official call for papers. The submitted articles will be reviewed and, if accepted, published as soon as the final version is received by the committee. Based on this process, each sliding issue can be filled successively until the maximum number of articles is reached. During this period, all accepted papers can, already be read by other researchers while other papers are still in the reviewing process. Accordingly, the time to publish shrinks to a minimum. In addition, multiple issues with different focus can co-exist at the same time, which provides completely new possibilities to react on latest research topics. The journal also allows the integration of discussions and other reactions on published articles in the same journal issue. We are welcoming fresh ideas, on-going research technical reports and novel scientific works. We also intend to create a promising platform for creative and constructive discussions
