Narrazioni di gratitudine: esperienze e riflessioni
Introduction. The choice to offer nursing students a space for reflection about gratitude and cure is at the core of teaching activity focused on examining a little explored feeling that of-ten characterizes the relationship between patients and operators in places of healthca-re. Gratitude is meant as a positive response we get when we give or receive a benefit from someone. This paper aims to analyze the influence of gratitude and appreciation in settings of care and also to increase awareness for the well-being that is generated by the feeling of gratitude. Methods and tools. During the elective (ADE) held in February, March 2024 at the Nursing Degree Program in Turin, two meetings were held with 39 participants. During this ADE, participants were asked to write a story about an episode in which they felt gratitude for or experi-ence gratitude from another person. The narratives had been analyzed according to the qualitative content analysis methodology.Results. Thirty-eight narrative stories were examined. The analysis allowed us to identify some recurring themes, and the meanings traced back to the following categories: Trust and Bonds, Recognition and Appreciation, Human and Professional Growth, Gratitude as a Generator of Well-being. Reflections on the theme of gratitude present essential and common elements among students even if the context in which the episodes of gratitude are placed changes. Many students wrote about events that happened during their internship, others focus on experiences related to family and friendship contexts.Conclusions. From the stories, it emerges that the benefits of gratitude expressed by the students increase, in their perception, positive emotions, self-confidence, and confidence in their work, as well as about their own undertaking academic choices. Exercising gratitude in a conscious way helps to reflect on the personal and professional reality that students experience and contributes to strengthening positive feelings.Introduzione.

Sostenibilità e inclusione contro l’insicurezza alimentare. Il contributo dell’associazione ReFoodGees
Food insecurity in rich societies is an extremely urgent problem. The pandemic has brought attention to the inefficiencies of food systems, in which food insecurity and waste paradoxically coexist. This paradox is an expression of the need to frame food insecurity also in relation to the sustainability of food systems. While at the global level, the difficulty in reconciling both aspects is evident, some local initiatives show the interest and capacity of civil society to fill systemic gaps. One can find examples of spontaneous initiatives in communities around the world. These realities propose new ways of thinking about food, a sustainable and inclusive fight against food insecurity. This article explores the reality of ReFoodGees, an association born in Rome, in the Esquilino district, through qualitative research methods. The objective is to analyse the association and the relations it has established with the community over time. The aim is to reflect on the strengths and weaknesses, assessing whether it is possible to replicate the association’s example in other realities.L’insicurezza alimentare nelle società ricche è un problema estremamente attuale.

In the early thirteenth century, the connection between the immutability of the truth of prophecy and the necessary character of the announced event, i.e. the modal aspect of the prophetic utterance, is discussed in the quaestiones de prophetia of Peter of Capua, Stephen Langton, William of Auxerre, Alexander of Hales, Philip the Chancellor, Albertus Magnus and, later, Thomas Aquinas. According to all the authors mentioned in the paper, the necessitarianism of the prophetatum (the object of prophecy) occurs only at the logical-propositional level, i.e. in the form of the logical relation connecting the condition or antecedent and the consequent. The fact that prophecy is a sign of divine foreknowledge does not imply a causal capacity with respect to its content, which remains contingent in itself until it is realised, even if necessary per accidens, as a conditional fact

Toward a Philosophy of Popular Music
Is there a "philosophy of popular music"? And, if it doesn't exist yet, is it possible it will exist in the future? For this to happen, we need to go a step further than sociology and aesthetics. A philosophy of music is not the same as an aesthetics of music. Likewise, a philosophy of popular music must grapple with a subject whose vastness cannot be conceptualized with theories that apply to historically stratified forms or the rules that determine various musical genres. Popular music is a planetary experiment, where the term "planet" must be distinguished from the term "world." The world can be owned, but the planet cannot be owned. Similarly, popular music must be distinguished from celebrity music. Celebrities own their music, while popular music, even if it is bound by market rules, is “owned” by no one. Its categories, necessarily unconventional, are the Mouth, the Throat, the Kernel of the Real, the Weaving of the Carpet, and Planetarity.
The treatise for confessors Speculum peccatoris, confessoris simul et praedicatoris in materia restitutionis seu satisfactionis, preserved in manuscript 37 of the Biblioteca de la Real Colegiata de San Isidoro de León, offers valuable insights into the social and religious history of the Subalpine area in the first half of the fifteenth century. The author, most likely the Spanish cleric Gómez González, gathered this information during his stay in Piedmont around 1435. This essay presents several cases of abuses committed by both laypeople and members of the clergy, as described in the Speculum. These cases include references to the University of Turin, which at the time had been temporarily relocated to Chieri (1427-1434) and to Savigliano (1434-1436). All references to the University of Turin concern issues related to the management of ecclesiastical benefices and provide information on faculty members, teaching practices in canon law at the Studium generale, and the involvement of local university doctors of canon law in judicial procedures of ecclesiastical courts
Role-Based Persuasion and Strategic Embarrassment in Cicero’s Letters
This paper uses role theory to conduct a close reading of four letters written to Cicero in 49 BC by Marcus Antonius, Julius Caesar, and Marcus Caelius Rufus: three in which the writers attempt to convince Cicero not to join Gnaeus Pompeius in his conflict against Caesar (Att. 10, 8A-B; 10, 9A), and an exchange between Antonius and Cicero regarding the recall of Sextus Cloelius (Att. 14, 13A-B). It argues that a focus on the development of roles within epistolary correspondence provides new insight into the relationship between “facework” and persuasion, which builds upon established models of interactional analysis such as politeness theory. Specifically, it argues that letter writers could challenge the face of their interlocutor by emphasising the need to conform to aspects of the roles they occupied within society. Having established the presence of this persuasive strategy within Cicero’s letters, the paper offers a reflection on the broader utility of role theory as a model for the analysis of Ciceronian and broader Roman communication.
The invention of languages, a complex practice, has been extensively described and analyzed from the perspective of linguistic methodologies implemented, such as those proposed by Rosenfelder (2010) and Peterson (2015). However, a less explored aspect concerns the use of automated tools by ideolinguists in their creative process. Our research focuses on this intersection between technology and linguistic creativity. Through a survey (Nomblot & Thomas, 2023) directed at language creators (both amateur and professional), to which 84 people responded, we explored the profiles of ideolinguists (gender, age, motivations for inventing languages, and time dedicated to their creation) and their language invention techniques (the steps they follow, their methods for creating sounds, grammars, and lexicons, as well as their desire for alignment between the language and the people using it, and whether or not they aim for their language to appear realistic). We also explored the habits and preferences of ideolinguists regarding the use of automated tools in the creation process. The results reveal a partial adoption of these technologies, with about 40% of respondents using computer tools. Among these tools, word generators emerge as the most popular (e.g., Awkwords), followed by full language generators (such as Vulgarlang) and name generators for characters and places (like Fantasy Name Generator). Our presentation will explore the underlying reasons for the use or non-use of these tools among ideolinguists. We will examine factors of satisfaction and dissatisfaction related to these technologies, as well as the needs expressed by users for new tools. This analysis aims to shed light on current dynamics in the field of constructed languages and to propose directions for the future development of tools better suited to the expectations of language creators.L'invention des langues, une pratique complexe, a été largement décrite et analysée sous l’angle des méthodologies linguistiques mises en œuvre, comme celles proposées par Rosenfelder (2010) et Peterson (2015).
