Ambarzumian theorem for quantum graphs with magnetic potential
A Schrödinger operator on a metric graph is isospectral to the Laplacian if and only if the potential is zero. This result is extended to the case of magnetic Schrödinger operators. We show that if a magnetic Schrödinger operator is isospectral to the Laplacian then the magnetic potential can be eliminated. Even the case of delta couplings at the vertices is considered
Theatre Making “Space for the Unassimilable”
Addressing the cultural politics of what Mihaela Mihai calls “mnemonic care”, this paper considers three questions concerning Jewish identity and testimonial justice that are posed in a recent play (including in its very title) by the Estonian-Russian theatre maker Julia Aug, Mum, is our cat also a Jew? The contrasting claims of and for official and unofficial national histories – both during and after the Soviet period – are explored here in terms of Mihai’s invitation for us to consider how such memory politics “make space for the unassimilable”
Opportunities of trust in welfare management: From hierarchy and market to morality and social relations
Models for the development of Danish welfare continue to draw on trust as an important resource. This is expressed in efforts to promote debureaucratization, self-management and emancipatory governance. But what kind of trust are we talking about when we talk about trust in the public sector? The starting point of this article is that trust is not a singular entity but is expressed in different ways that are rooted in different models of public management and governance and their underlying assumptions. Thus, it is argued that the functioning of trust can be summarized in four paradigms: institutional trust, economic trust, moral trust and relational trust. The article presents the analytical, managerial and governance-related insights associated with the four paradigms and their interplay and makes suggestions for a relationally oriented research agenda on public trust
The 2025 social assistance reform: towards equal rights and obligations?
Does the 2025 social assistance reform move the Danish welfare system toward greater equality in rights and obligations – or does it reinforce a differentiated safety net? This article analyses the reform through the lenses of universalism and social citizenship with focus on coverage, benefit levels, and conditions. The reform simplifies the system by reducing the number of benefits and rates, abolishing benefit ceilings, and introducing positive work incentives. The new leisure allowance represents a policy innovation by granting children individual social rights. However, differentiation persists through a minimum benefit and mandatory work requirements for certain groups. The article concludes that the reform marks a significant step toward greater uniformity and inclusion, but that further progress toward universal social citizenship requires reducing conditionality and differentiation
