AbstractThis article is turning towards aesthetic-visual methods and perspectives in research with children. The context is children’s encounters with school concerts (within the Danish compulsory school system) performed by professional musicians and their instruments. The study connects to a pilot-project and has an arts-based approach with attention to aesthetic, performative, post-qualitative, and material ways to create actions, meaning, and knowledge. Analysis of qualitative empirical material such as field notes and interviews with children including their drawings show how encounters with school concert are aesthetic-performative and becoming processes in which (intra)relations with instruments, music, musicians, and children are vital and vibrant.

Klimaet i ministeriet. Udviklingen af den første danske klimapolitik, ca. 1980-1992
Climate issues first appeared on Danish ministerial agendas after the release of the UN’s Brundtland Report in August 1987. Hence, Denmark was generally in a position of following rather than leading on this issue internationally. However, a few Danish researchers had highlighted the issue earlier in the 1980s, and they became part of a small group of experts who played a role as catalysts and advisors while a Danish climate policy was developed. One reason for their influence was the rapid expansion of scientific knowledge about climate issues. The Ministry of Environment consciously used the emerging climate agenda to leverage its influence over the purviews of other ministries, quickly becoming the most powerful actor. Formally, the Danish government’s Action Plan for Environment and Development (1989) and Energi 2000 (1990), the energy action plan, were developed in collaboration with not only ministries and scientific advisors but also industry, labour unions, environmental organisations, and NGOs, yet the Ministry of Environment’s preferences are present throughout. At least one central scientific institution repeatedly opposed the Ministry of Environment’s approach, namely, the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI). The disagreement stemmed from the fact that climate change due to human emissions of greenhouse gases had only been suggested by climate models, not definitively proven. DMI took the classic scientific stance that models should not form the basis for comprehensive measures before observations confirmed their predictions, while the Ministry of Environment adhered to the precautionary principle. The Ministry of Environment’s position came to define both Danish climate policy and climate research strategy, which supported research on the impacts and prevention of climate change over model-based research. Thus, the prevailing approach and logic of the Ministry of Environment and environmental researchers were transferred from the environmental sector to the climate sector
The subject of the article is the Kommissionen til Bevaring af danske Forfatteres Manuskripter og Breve (the Commission for the Preservation of Manuscripts and Letters by Danish Authors), which was set up in 1910. The article shows that this now completely forgotten commission played a significant role in the early phase of a major and fundamental, but little examined, historical development in Denmark in the 20th century, a period when both writers and archival institutions became increasingly aware of the need to preserve so-called ‘literary remains’ (manuscripts, drafts, letters, diaries etc.) for posterity and to establish archives of contemporary writers. The article examines the historical and institutional background of the commission’s work, including its terms of reference, working method, public action, stages of development – and dissolution. The article also maps the constant negotiation that was clearly in question, as it was far from self-evident that letters and manuscripts would be preserved. The work of the commission resulted in several public controversies, inter-institutional rivalries and discord within the walls of the individual archival institutions. In conclusion, the article shows how the commission’s work became a concrete link between, on the one hand, the incorporation of the Collin Manuscript Collection in 1905 and, on the other, the establishment of the Georg Brandes Archive in 1912.The article, which is based on a large amount of – for the most part – previously unused source material, is a contribution to 20th-century Danish library, archival and literary history in terms of both subject matter and methodology. In terms of the latter, the article concludes not only that archives can provide source material, such as liter-ary studies, but also that they can become an object of analysis in their own right: the studies of individual archives’ provenance, structure, discarded material, supplements etc. can be mapped to varying degrees, and they can potentially provide an insight into mechanisms in the literary field
Kunstfaggruppens infrastrukturelle aktivisme: En feministisk læsning af kunstbibliotekarernes arbejde i 1970’erne
“The Infrastructural Activism of Kunstfaggruppen: A Feminist Reading of Art Librarians’ Work in the 1970s”
This article explores the art librarians in Kunstfaggruppen’s (the Art Subject Group’s) infrastructure-creating and agenda-setting activities, situated at the inter- section between visual arts and the library system. During the 1970s the group, dominated by women informed by feminism, ensured that art libraries became a recognised part of the art institutional landscape in Denmark. This article argues that this happened through a form of “infrastructural activism” (Smith). Seeking to create an alternative to the bourgeois art institution, this activism operates on both infrastructural and representational levels within the frameworks of art. The ar- ticle suggests that the infrastructural and activist work thatdrove Kunstfaggruppen in the 1970s had a feminist impulse, but also critically considers the relationship between the counterculture of the women’s movement and the cultural politics of the welfare state, whilst reflecting on the potential of the art library infrastructure today
The Scene in Literature and Literature for the Scene: A Personal Essay on Adapting Literature for the Stage
In this text, readers are taken on a personal journey from a first encounter with Danish author Cecilie Lind’s publications to a staging of Lind’s novel Girlbeast at Danish theatre Sort/Hvid in 2023 with re-staging in 2025. By diving into the process of adapting and staging the novel, the essay examines what this process can teach us about literature, performing arts and the interplay between the two with the argument that literature in general has a spatial and affective potential not unlike any live and living artform

Mediating Kinship: Relational Perspectives on Dementia in Two Norwegian Graphic Novels
Comparing two contemporary Norwegian graphic novels depicting a son’s experience with a parent’s dementia, this article explores what a relational perspective on dementia entails and how processes of kinship are mediated in the comics form. The first part of the article outlines several “relational challenges” connected with dementia literature and other forms of life writing from a caregiver’s perspective. In the second part of the article, I analyse and compare Trond Bredesen’s Mora mi (My Mother, 2023) and Martin Erntsen’s Men hvem er du? (But Who Are You? 2023), focusing on how these graphic novels show and perform mnemonic practises that can be linked to a processual view on kinship. Building on this view on kinship and relationality as intersubjective processes in need of mediation, I return to the relational challenges of dementia literature to suggest a shift in focus: from the dialectic between the carer and the vulnerable person towards the relationship itself, and from questions about narrative and narratability towards questions about media and mediation. This perspective is summed up in the term remedium, which provides a conceptual framework for understanding the remediating, and potentially remedying, cultural processes connected with aesthetic and literary media considering their media specificity.
I 1920 utkom “Sions vises protokoller” i Norge.
