The Scope of Music Informatics and Its Foundation(Department of Music Expression)
Get PDF本稿は音楽情報学がどういう範囲を指すかを論ずるが、は本学芸術情報学部の学部名称に由来する新しい分野である。最近の権威ある音楽事典に「音楽情報学」の項はなく定義されてもいないので、「コンピュータと音楽」の範躊をその最近の事典で、20年前に出版された旧版と比較しながらレビューしたい。「コンピュータと音楽」の分野はこの20年で応用志向の分野に成熟したように見受けられる。しかしその全域は今でも、科学技術の観点から見るか応用の観点から見るかにより異なるカテゴリー化が可能である。さらに重要なのは、今日ほとんどどの音楽の題目も潜在的には、コンピュータの使用を伴う対象かもしれないということである。はコンピュータ主導の領域に注意を集めるべきではなく、アルゴリズム作曲や音楽理論・音楽分析の研究に集中すべきである。の定義によりその範疇と問題構制は明確になるであろう。This paper discusses the scope of Music Informatics, a new discipline coming from the name of Arts Informatica College of Shobi University. As the term Music Informatics is not listed nor defined in a current authorized music dictionary, therefore, I would like to review the category of "computers and music" in the current dictionary, comparing it with its old version published 20 years ago. In these 20 years, the discipline appears to have matured as an application-oriented one. But even now, the whole sphere of "computers and music" can be categorized differently, viewing from a technological or an applicable viewpoint. More important is that nowadays almost any topic of music may be a potential object involving the use of a computer. Music Informatics should not focus its attention on computer-leading aspects of MI, but instead focus on the study of algorithmic composition, music theory and analysis. English Education for Low-Intermediate Students at University Level
Get PDFThe number of the students whose English abilities are not adequate for the average high school graduate level has been increasing. This paper describes how those students should study English at universities in Japan. Though the most of them are aware of their lack of English knowledge, they wouldnユt like to study more than they do now. This is because many students havenユt obviously found the significance of learning English. Generally, learners of English are very much interested in communicating with foreign people in English. Japanese students tend to think that the grammatical competence of English is less concerned with the communicative one. This is one of the reasons why many of them dislike learning grammar. But, with poor grammar, we cannot communicate well. A Study and Translation of the "Historia Cinguli sanctae Mariae de Prato"(Department of Information Expression)
Get PDFイタリアの小都市プラートのサント・ステファノ聖堂では、聖母の帯の聖遺物崇拝すなわち聖帯崇拝が13世紀第3四半世紀より盛んになり、聖帯の来歴とその正統性を裏付ける文献として『聖帯の歴史』が編纂された。そして、同聖堂では13世紀末から15世紀にかけて、そのテキストを典拠として《聖母被昇天と使徒トマスヘの聖帯の授与》の主題が頻繁に造形化された。オリジナルの版の『聖帯の歴史』は現存しないが、フィレンツェ国立中央図書館所蔵の15世紀のラテン語写本『プラートの聖母マリアの帯の歴史』(Magliabechiano XXXVII, 323)の前半部のテキストは、オリジナルの版とほぼ一致すると考えられる。同写本の前半部は、聖母被昇天について述べた最古のテキストである6世紀頃の東方の偽書『聖母の帰天』、聖帯のプラートヘの到着の伝説、7つの奇蹟を含み、後半部は1312年に起きた聖帯の盗難と奇蹟、裁判記録と聖帯の管理について記している。後半部は、同年以降にオリジナルのテキストにつけ加えられたに違いない。プラートの聖帯崇拝の様相と13世紀末から15世紀の美術作品の関係を解明する一助とするために、本稿では本写本の邦訳を試みる。At the Pieve of Santo Stefano in Prato, Italy, the cult of the Vergin and her Sacred Belt became popular from the third quarter of the thirteenth century and "Historia" was edited to prove the history and authenticity of the relic. Under the "Historia", the subject of ≪Assumption of the Vergin in the giving the Belt to Thomas≫ was often painted and sculpted at the Pieve from the late thirteenth century to the fifteenth century. Although the original text of the "Historia" is lost, the first half of the "Historia Cinguli sanctae Mariae de Prato" (Magliabechiano XXXVII, 323), a fifteenth-century manuscript in the National Central Library of Florence, is considered to be very similar to the original. It contains "De Transitu Beatae Mariae Virginis" of pseudo John of Arimatea, which is a sixth-century text, the story of the trip of the Sacred Belt to Prato and seven miracles. The second half of "Historia Cinguli sanctae Mariae de Prato" tells the theft and the miracle of the relic in 1312, the document of the trial and the keeping of the Belt. This latter part must have been added to the original text after 1312. I am convinced that this translation of "Historia Cinguli sanctae Mariae de Prato" is significant to clarify the relationship between the cult of the Sacred Belt and the works of art from the late thirteenth century to the fifteenth century at the Pieve of Santo Stefano.5KJ00002411916論文Articledepartmental bulletin pape

Get PDFギリシャ以来の大問題である音楽現象は、名曲・名演奏の仕組みを解明するという究極の大問題へ向かって、今日の音楽心理学、音響心理学等に引き継がれて取り組まれてきた。特に音楽心理学では1956年のL.B.MeyerのEmotion and Meaning in Music の歴史的論文に端を発してアメリカを中心に著しい研究成果を挙げてきたが、それでも究極の問題には辿り着いていない。私がこれまで発表してきた論文は、リズム、和声に関わる楽譜から読みとれる内容に限定され、音楽現象で最も重要な聴き手の意識の持続が何によってなされるのかという見地から判断すると、荒っぽい内容といわざるを得ない。私は音楽を、ベルグソン哲学に根拠をおく「凝縮された進化体験」と位置づけている。"今"は過去(記憶)と相互浸透されることで意味を生じ、鳴らされている今の音(現在)も,聴いた音(過去)との関係で音楽性を獲得できるといえる。こうした考えは、古典の名曲とりわけバッハ作品の分析から導き出されたものである。名曲の仕組みと音楽現象の解明とを結びつけることがこの論文の目的である。全体は考察編と楽曲分析から成り立つが、当論文はその中の前半部分の考察編からの抜粋で、楽曲の作品分析を主体とする後半は省かれている。Musical phenomenon has been studied since the ancient times of Greece. Nowadays, music psychology and acoustic psychology are tackling the great issue. Their efforts aim to elucidate the mechanism of excellent pieces and performances of music. Especially, starting by L. B. Meyer's monumental essay, music psychologists in the United States have attained notable result. However, those results have not yet found their ways to final elucidation of that great issue. My essays already published exclusively treat rhythm and harmony read in scores. But, regrettably, they only have rough contents with regard to the most significant point in musical phenomenon, namely, listener's continuity of consciousness. I define music as "condensed experience of evolution" on the philosophy of Henri Bergson. "Present" makes sense in interrelation with memory (that is, "past"), and ringing sounds (that is, "present") also acquires musicality in relation to the sounds heard in the "past." My definition is derived from analyses in excellent pieces of classical music, the pieces by J.S. Bach in particular. This essay is a part of an attempt to consider the mechanism of excellent pieces in connection to the elucidation of musical phenomenon. The whole attempt consists of two parts: considerations and analyses. Euthanasia and Palliative Care : an overview in the light of the 2002 legislation in the Netherlands
Get PDFオランダでは、2002年4月1日に、「要請による生命の終結および自殺幇助(審査手続き)法」が施行された。本法は国家の法としては世界初の安楽死法となるものである。オランダは自立して生活するための社会福祉も充実しており、弱者を切り捨てない平等主義が行き渡っている。その社会背景の中で、判例の積み重ねによって安楽死を許容するための基準が形成された。1993年には遺体埋葬法の一部が改正され、安楽死への厳格なガイドラインとなっていたが、本法はさらに刑法と遺体埋葬法を改正し、その要件を満たした安楽死を実施した医師を刑事訴追しないこととした。他方、1994年の英国の「医療の倫理特別委員会報告書」は、オランダの疼痛緩和医療が英国ほど進んでいないこと、また厳格な要件のもとであるにせよ安楽死許容の方向をとっていたことが、疼痛緩和医療を更に進めるための部分的障壁となっていることを指摘している。本論文はオランダの安楽死について疼痛緩和医療との関連のもとで考察するものである。On 1 April 2002, the following act came into force in the Netherlands: Review procedures for the termination of life on request and assisted suicide and amendment of the Criminal Code and the Burial and Cremation Act. This legislation allows patients experiencing unbearable suffering to request euthanasia, and the doctors who carry it out to be free from prosecution, provided they follow strict procedures. The legislation was passed in a society where individual independence and social welfare are well developed. However, the British Select Committee on Medical Ethics, which reported on the state of palliative care in Holland, together with some Dutch doctors, have expressed the view that palliative care is not as advanced in Holland as it is in Britain. One view is that legalization of euthanasia can become an obstacle to improving palliative care. Given this relationship between palliative care and euthanasia, it is impossible to consider one without looking at both.
