Forecasting the Rupiah Exchange Rate Influenced by Several Factors Using the Improve Grey Model (1,3)
The rupiah exchange rate is one of the important indicators of a country's economic stability, but the rupiah exchange rate often fluctuates following the factors that influence it. Forecasting the rupiah exchange rate is very important for economic planning, it helps the government make monetary policy decisions to maintain the stability of the rupiah exchange rate. Common methods used to forecast the rupiah exchange rate are ARIMA, FTS Markov Chain, and exponential smoothing. These methods are widely used to show the relationship between variables, but these methods have the disadvantage that they must meet the assumptions of data patterns. The contribution of this research is the use of the improve Grey model (1,3) predict the rupiah exchange rate in 2024, which is influenced by inflation and the balance of payments. The improve Grey model (1,3) was chosen because it does not require data distribution assumptions and can consider several external factors, thus providing more specific results for certain fields. The improve Grey model (1,3) uses the Grey model (1,1) to calculate the parameter values of the independent variables in the calculation of the improve Grey model (1,3) whitening equation. The calculation of the improve Grey model (1,3) whitening equation is calculated using a first-order ordinary differential equation. The use of the improve Grey (1,3) model for forecasting the rupiah exchange rate is considered accurate based on the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) value. The rupiah exchange rate influenced by inflation and the balance of payments using the improve Grey model (1,3) for 2024 is predicted to increase from the previous year to Rp. 18.076, which indicates a weakening in value. This weakening has a positive impact on the balance of payments and a negative impact on inflation
Analysis of Beef Cattle Fattening Business
The cattle fattening business in Limboto District is predominantly managed by farmers through farmer groups. These fattening groups are spread across several villages, including Hutabohu Village, where the Ilohelumo group operates. Beef cattle fattening is a viable strategy to enhance community income, as it involves specific inputs and produces outputs in the form of revenue and business profits (Abidin, 2012). This study employed a case study method, with the research location selected through purposive sampling based on the presence of a successful cattle fattening group. The selected location was Hutabohu Village in Limboto District, Gorontalo Regency. The respondents were selected using total sampling from the Ilohelumo group, consisting of 20 members. The analytical methods used included descriptive analysis, income analysis, Return on Revenue (ROR), Break Even Point (BEP), Return Cost Ratio (R/C), and Benefit Cost Ratio (B/C). The Ilohelumo cattle fattening group managed 20 heads of cattle with a total production cost of IDR 215,300,000, comprising both fixed and variable costs. The group generated a profit of IDR 118,223,112 per fattening period, or approximately IDR 5,911,155 per head per month. The business achieved an R/C ratio of 2.864 and a B/C ratio of 1.482, indicating that the beef cattle fattening enterprise is profitable and financially feasible
The Monetary Policy in a Dual Banking System, Islamic and Conventional Banks: Bibliometric Analysis
This study examines the bibliometric analysis of monetary policy in a dual banking system, encompassing Islamic and conventional banks. Monetary policy is a central bank instrument for managing economic stability through interest rate control, inflation regulation, and liquidity management. The study aims to identify publications related to monetary policy in the context of Islamic and conventional banks and to understand research trends in this field. The bibliometric analysis method was employed using VOSviewer software, with data sourced from the Dimensions database spanning 2015-2024. The findings indicate that the United States and Indonesia are the leading countries in terms of publication volume and total link strength. Additionally, the Journal of Islamic Accounting and Business is identified as the most influential journal in this area. Keywords such as Monetary Policy, Dual Banking System, and Islamic Banks frequently appear as dominant research themes. The most influential article is Aysan (2017), which analyzes interest rate sensitivity in Turkey's dual banking system. The study concludes that monetary policy plays a crucial role in both banking systems, with distinct transmission mechanisms. Future research is recommended to utilize broader datasets and integrate bibliometric analysis with qualitative or quantitative approaches to deepen the interpretation of interrelated research topics
Causal Analysis of Inflation and Interest Rates in Post-COVID Indonesia (2020.1-2024.9)
This study, titled “Causality Analysis of Inflation and Interest Rates in Indonesia Post-COVID-19 (2020.1-2024.9),” aims to examine the long-term equilibrium between inflation and interest rate variables and to explore their causal relationship during the post-pandemic period. The research utilizes secondary data in the form of monthly time series from January 2020 to September 2024, sourced from Bank Indonesia publications. The cointegration test results indicate no long-term equilibrium between inflation and interest rates. However, the Granger causality test reveals a bidirectional relationship between the two variables, meaning that inflation influences interest rates, and interest rates, in turn, affect inflation. Specifically, high inflation tends to drive up interest rates, while an increase in interest rates can suppress inflation. Therefore, Bank Indonesia must carefully consider this dynamic. Any changes in interest rates should not only be assessed based on their impact on inflation but also on how inflation itself may influence future interest rate decisions. This creates a complex cycle of interdependence between the two variables, particularly in the context of a volatile economic environment. This study provides insights into the interaction of these key economic indicators within the framework of Indonesia’s post-pandemic economic recovery
Beyond the Surface: Exploring the Next Level of Terrorism on the Dark Web
The lack of effective security mechanisms on the Surface Web facilitates the occurrence of cybercrime. The high accessibility of the Surface Web also allows law enforcement agencies to more easily track and identify perpetrators. However, this motivates criminals to migrate to the Dark Web, the deepest layer of the internet that offers a higher level of security. This research aims to analyze the communication patterns utilized by terrorists on the dark web, propaganda, recruitment, and the use of cryptocurrency in transactions and fundraising by terrorists. The research method used is normative legal research with a conceptual and case approaches and qualitative analysis. This research analyses that terrorists have transitioned to using the Dark Net in a similar manner to how they have utilized the Surface Web over the past several decades, but there are now additional opportunities for tech-savvy operatives. Three main features, anonymity, encrypted messaging, and the use of cryptocurrency, work together to provide an environment that is almost perfect for terrorists on the Dark Web. This combination allows terrorists to conduct their operations more effectively and covertly, making the Dark Web a highly valuable tool for achieving their goals without significant risk of exposure and disruption by security authorities
The Urgency of Supervision Institutions in Implementing Prisoners' Rights as an Effort to Restructure Criminal Execution Laws
This research explores the protective laws and enforcement of human rights in Indonesian correctional facilities, especially by observing systematic problems in exercising the ruling on prisoners' rights. This study uses a juridical-empirical method based on analyzing legal sources with additional field research to cover what legal contents advocate for in what contexts more effectively. It analyzes primary legal materials, including relevant legislation and gathers empirical data throughinterviews and direct observations. This approach allows for an enhanced understanding of the interplay between legal theory and practice to evaluate the legal framework of prisoners' rights protection critically. The findings reveal significant legal gaps, particularly regarding the unclear constitutional arrangements regarding the separation of powers in the execution of sentences as well as the protection of prisoners' rights. These issue are notably prevalent in correctional institutions in Central Java, which has been the case that the enforcement mechanism has not been running optimally. The analysis identifies systematic violations of prisoners' rights stemming from structural weaknesses in the legal relationships between correctional institutions, courts, and other law enforcement entities. As outlined in the examination of statutory interpretation and legal principles throughout this study, legislative reform is also necessary to better protect prisoners' rights, particularly concerning clarification of institutional authority and improved oversight mechanisms. These findings highlight the necessity for legal harmonization between human rights standards and correctional practices to increase the integrity of the Indonesian criminal justice system
Antibacterial Activity of Red Onion and White Ginger Extract Combinations Against Staphylococcus aureus In Vitro
Rhinosinusitis is an inflammatory disease of the nose and paranasal sinuses in which Staphylococcus aureus is a frequent causative pathogen. Rising antibacterial resistance has prompted interest in plant-derived agents such as red onion and white ginger, which contain flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, terpenoids, and essential oils with reported antimicrobial activity. This study evaluated the in vitro antibacterial activity of combined red onion (Allium cepa L.) and white ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe) ethanol extracts against S. aureus. Extracts were prepared in 96% ethanol by maceration and combined at ratios of 25%:75%, 50%:50%, and 75%:25% (red onion:white ginger); 100% single extracts were also tested. Antibacterial activity was assessed using the agar well diffusion method on Mueller–Hinton agar seeded with S. aureus (0.5 McFarland). Ciprofloxacin 50 µg/mL and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) served as positive and negative controls, respectively. Inhibition zones were measured in millimetres and analysed using one-way ANOVA followed by the Games–Howell test. The extract combinations produced mean inhibition zones ranging from 2.98 to 7.80 mm. The 75%:25% combination yielded the largest inhibition zone (7.80 ± 0.26 mm), whereas the 25%:75% combination produced the smallest (2.98 ± 1.71 mm). Ciprofloxacin generated a markedly larger inhibition zone (29.50 ± 1.32 mm), while DMSO showed no inhibition. Statistical analysis showed significant differences between most extract combinations and the controls (p 0.05), except for the 25%:75% combination versus the negative control. In conclusion, combined red onion and white ginger ethanol extracts exhibit modest in vitro antibacterial activity against S. aureus, with the 75%:25% ratio being the most active, although still far weaker than ciprofloxacin
Sweet Potato Leaf Extract Gummy Candy as an Antioxidant-Rich Functional Food for Stunting Prevention in Children
Stunting remains a major public health concern linked to oxidative stress and micronutrient deficiencies. This study aimed to develop and evaluate gummy candy formulations containing sweet potato leaf extract (Ipomoea batatas L.) as a functional food candidate for stunting prevention in children. The extract was obtained by maceration, and the formulation was evaluated through phytochemical screening, sensory evaluation, weight uniformity, antioxidant activity using the DPPH method, and mineral content analysis with atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS). Phytochemical analysis confirmed the presence of flavonoids, tannins, and saponins. Sensory evaluation by 30 panelists indicated observable differences between formulations: F0 (control) was preferred in terms of color and taste, while F1 (with extract) presented a darker green-purple appearance and a slightly bitter aftertaste, though texture remained similar in both. Weight uniformity results met pharmacopeial standards, with coefficient of variation values below 5%. Antioxidant activity testing revealed strong radical scavenging potential of the extract (IC₅₀: 29.263 ppm), moderate activity in the F1 gummy (IC₅₀: 108.245 ppm), and very weak activity in F0 (IC₅₀ 200 ppm), compared to ascorbic acid as a positive control (IC₅₀: 6.426 ppm). Mineral analysis of F1 showed iron content of 168.94 ppm and zinc content of 28.05 ppm, contributing significantly to daily nutritional requirements. In conclusion, the incorporation of sweet potato leaf extract into gummy candy provides bioactive compounds with antioxidant activity and essential minerals, while maintaining acceptable sensory quality. These findings support its potential development as a functional food to contribute to stunting prevention strategies in children
