Liquid Soap with Piper betle L. Ethanolic Extract: Physical Stability over 28 Days at Different Extract Levels
Liquid soap is widely used as a cleansing product because it is hygienic, practical, and easy to apply, while incorporation of plant-based bioactives is increasingly explored to enrich functional attributes of personal-care formulations. Ethanolic extract of betel leaf (Piper betle L.) contains multiple secondary metabolites, including flavonoids, alkaloids, steroids, saponins, tannins, and essential oils, which may contribute to formulation performance. This study evaluated the effect of P. betle ethanolic extract level (20%, 25%, and 30%; corresponding to 10.0, 12.5, and 15.0 g per 50 mL batch) on the physical stability of liquid soap during 28-day storage under ambient conditions. A laboratory experimental design was applied, and samples were stored at room temperature with periodic monitoring of temperature and relative humidity (27.2–31.1°C; 65–85%). Physical stability was assessed on days 0, 7, 14, 21, and 28 in triplicate (n = 3) using organoleptic evaluation, homogeneity, pH, foam height, foam stability, and specific gravity. Across the observation period, all formulations remained organoleptically acceptable and homogeneous, with pH and foaming characteristics maintained within acceptable ranges. Endpoint comparisons between day 0 and day 28 within each formulation did not show statistically significant differences for pH, foam height, foam stability, or specific gravity (paired t-test, p 0.05). Overall, under the tested conditions, increasing the extract level from 20% to 30% did not indicate measurable deterioration of the liquid soap’s physical stability over 28 days
Quantification of Water-Soluble Protein from Snakehead Fish (Channa striata) by Bradford UV–Vis and FTIR Profiling
Snakehead fish (Channa striata) is widely recognised as a nutritionally valuable aquatic resource and is frequently associated with protein-rich traditional preparations. This study aimed to quantify the water-soluble protein fraction of C. striata using Bradford UV–Vis spectrophotometry and to characterise the corresponding functional groups by Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The fish flesh was processed to obtain an aqueous (water-soluble) protein isolate, and protein concentration was determined using the Bradford method with UV–Vis measurement at 595 nm. Functional-group profiling of the isolate was subsequently evaluated by FTIR to verify spectral features consistent with protein/peptide structures. The Bradford assay indicated a protein level of 460.6 ± 0.958 mg/g, corresponding to 46.06% within the analysed fraction. FTIR analysis revealed characteristic protein-related bands, including Amide A at 3266.43 cm⁻¹, Amide I at 1635.92 cm⁻¹, and Amide III at 1318.95 cm⁻¹, supporting the presence of peptide bonding patterns in the isolate. Collectively, these findings demonstrate that C. striata yields a measurable water-soluble protein fraction quantifiable by Bradford UV–Vis and confirmable at the functional-group level by FTIR, providing a practical analytical basis for further standardisation and quality-oriented studies
Sosialisasi dan Implementasi Sistem Informasi Buku Tamu (SITAMU) di Komisi Pemilihan Umum Kota Gorontalo
Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) Kota Gorontalo sebagai upaya mendukung digitalisasi administrasi perkantoran, khususnya pada pencatatan kunjungan tamu. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi adalah penggunaan buku tamu manual yang menyebabkan data kunjungan tidak tertata rapi, sulit dibaca, berisiko hilang atau rusak, serta menyulitkan proses pencarian dan rekapitulasi data. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk melakukan sosialisasi dan implementasi Sistem Informasi Buku Tamu (SITAMU) berbasis web sebagai solusi terhadap permasalahan tersebut. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi observasi awal, sosialisasi sistem, implementasi aplikasi, serta pendampingan kepada pegawai KPU sebagai pengguna. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan SITAMU mampu meningkatkan efisiensi pencatatan kunjungan, memperbaiki kerapihan dan keamanan data, serta mempermudah pengelolaan dan penyusunan laporan kunjungan secara cepat dan akurat. Penerapan sistem ini juga berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan administrasi dan mendukung transformasi digital di lingkungan KPU Kota Gorontalo
Gerakan Anti Bullying : Edukasi dan Sosialisasi untuk Menciptakan Lingkungan Sekolah yang Aman dan Nyaman di SD Lab Universitas Negeri Gorontalo
Bullying is a serious issue that frequently occurs in elementary schools and has negative impacts on students’ emotional, social, and psychological development. National data indicate a high prevalence of bullying cases in primary schools, many of which remain unreported due to a lack of awareness and understanding. This community service activity aims to increase awareness, understanding, and prevention of bullying behavior through educational and socialization programs at SDN LAB Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. The methods employed included observation, discussions with school stakeholders, needs analysis, preparation of educational materials, implementation of socialization activities, as well as evaluation and monitoring. The program involved 70 students from grades IV, V, and VI, using an educational and interactive approach through material presentations and games. The results showed an improvement in students’ understanding of the types of bullying (verbal, physical, social, and cyberbullying), the negative impacts of bullying, and the importance of empathy and courage to refuse and report bullying behavior. The activity also received positive responses from the school. Therefore, this bullying socialization program is expected to contribute to creating a safe, comfortable, and supportive school environment for optimal character development of student
Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Desa Galuga melalui Implementasi Artificial Intelligence untuk Pemilahan Sampah Otomatis
Solid waste management in Galuga Village is still largely dependent on manual sorting practices, resulting in low sorting efficiency and limited community participation. This community service program aims to support source-level waste segregation through the implementation of an Artificial Intelligence (AI)–based automatic waste sorting system that can be operated independently by the community. The activity was conducted using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, emphasizing active community involvement in the design, utilization, and evaluation of the system. The implementation results indicate that the developed AI system achieved a highest validation accuracy of 93.37%, enabling faster and more consistent waste sorting compared to manual methods. Furthermore, observations and questionnaire results from the initial pilot implementation show improved community understanding and acceptance of waste segregation practices, as well as increased readiness to adopt the system in daily activities. These findings suggest that integrating AI technology with a participatory approach has the potential to enhance the effectiveness of community-based waste management and may be further developed as a sustainable technology empowerment model at the village level
Pemberdayaan Masyarakat melalui Coaching Clinic sebagai Model Pembinaan Sepak Bola Berkelanjutan
The Sport Science–based Coaching Clinic Program at the Duminanga Village Football School (SSB) was implemented to address key challenges, including low coaching competence, limited training facilities, and weak organizational management, which hinder effective youth football development. This program aimed to enhance coaches’ capacity, athletes’ training quality, and organizational governance through an integrated sport science approach. The program employed a participatory and educational approach, consisting of training sessions, mentoring, and the application of scientifically based training methods tailored to the initial conditions of the SSB. Program effectiveness was evaluated by comparing conditions before and after implementation, focusing on coach competence, athlete performance, and organizational management. The results indicate improvements in coaching quality, athlete motivation and training outcomes, as well as strengthened organizational structures and supporting facilities. Overall, the program proved effective in reinforcing community-based football development and has the potential to be replicated in other football schools with similar characteristics
Penyuluhan Etika Bermedia Sosial Berbasis Hukum Dan Ajaran Islam Untuk Pencegahan Cyberbullying Pelajar SMK Ma’arif Sukaslamet
Cyberbullying is a form of digital violence that has become increasingly prevalent among students along with the high intensity of social media use, which is not yet balanced by adequate ethical awareness, legal literacy, and internalization of moral values. This condition highlights the need for preventive efforts through a comprehensive educational approach. This Community Service activity aims to enhance students’ understanding and awareness of cyberbullying prevention by integrating a positive legal approach and Islamic values. The method employed was a one-cycle participatory educational intervention design involving 30 students of SMK Ma’arif Sukaslamet, Indramayu Regency, implemented through three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The educational materials covered the concept and forms of cyberbullying, its psychosocial impacts, the provisions of Article 27A of Law Number 1 of 2024 on Electronic Information and Transactions, and the interpretation of Qur’an Surah Al-Hujurat verse 11 as an ethical foundation for social media use. The results indicate an improvement in participants’ understanding, as reflected in their ability to identify cyberbullying behaviors, explain their legal consequences, and relate social media practices to Islamic ethical values. These findings suggest that an educational approach integrating positive law and Islamic teachings contributes positively to fostering more ethical, responsible, and respectful digital behavior among students
Edukasi MP-ASI Pangan Lokal untuk Pencegahan Gizi Kurang di Desa Bintalahe Kecamatan Kabila Bone
Masalah gizi kurang pada balita, khususnya wasting, masih menjadi isu kesehatan masyarakat karena berdampak pada pertumbuhan, perkembangan, dan kesehatan balita. Kondisi ini berkaitan erat dengan praktik pemberian makan yang belum memadai, khususnya kualitas dan ketepatan pemberian makanan pendamping ASI (MP-ASI). Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu balita mengenai pemberian MP-ASI berbasis pangan lokal sebagai upaya pencegahan gizi kurang. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Desa Bintalahe Kecamatan Kabila Bone melalui pendekatan edukatif berupa penyuluhan gizi seimbang dan MP-ASI berkualitas dengan media leaflet dan pemberian contoh makanan selingan berbahan pangan lokal. Sasaran kegiatan adalah 20 ibu balita yang dipilih karena perannya dalam pengambilan keputusan terkait pemilihan dan pengolahan makanan keluarga. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan desain pre-test dan post-test untuk menilai perubahan tingkat pengetahuan peserta dengan analisis data secara deskriptif. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata pengetahuan ibu setelah kegiatan edukasi, dari 66,5 ± 24,76 pada pre-test menjadi 77 ± 20,79 pada post-test. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penyuluhan gizi yang terarah dan kontekstual efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu balita terkait pemberian MP-ASI berbasis pangan lokal. Kesimpulannya, edukasi gizi kepada ibu balita merupakan pendekatan yang relevan dalam mendukung pemenuhan kebutuhan gizi anak setelah masa ASI eksklusif. Disarankan agar kegiatan edukasi MP-ASI berbasis pangan lokal dilaksanakan secara berkesinambungan dan terintegrasi dengan kegiatan posyandu guna memperkuat praktik pemberian makan balita di tingkat rumah tangga
Pelatihan pembuatan Jamu racikan Obat Batuk Berbasis Tanaman Lokal Di Desa Piloliyanga Kabupaten Boalemo
Penggunaan Coleus scutellarioides dalam meredakan batuk merupakan praktik tradisional yang didasarkan pada potensi efek ekspektoran atau antitusif dari senyawa- senyawa tertentu yang terkandung di dalamnya. Batuk seringkali merupakan respons tubuh terhadap iritasi atau inflamasi pada saluran pernapasan, dan senyawa yang mampu mengurangi peradangan atau mengencerkan dahak dapat membantu meredakan gejala ini. Secara tradisional, olahan daun, seperti rebusan, diyakini dapat memberikan efek melegakan pada tenggorokan dan saluran pernapasan, memfasilitasi pengeluaran dahak, dan mengurangi frekuensi batuk. Kombinasi dengan bunga belimbing wuluh akan lebih meningkat efektifitas mukolitik dari ramuan tersebut. Pengabdian ini bertujuan memberikan pelatihan pembuatan racikan obat batuk dari tanaman local yang terdiri dari daun miana dan bunga belimbing wuluh. Dosis penggunaan bahan didasarkan pada penelitian ramuan sebelumnya yang mempunyai efek maksimal pada konsentrasi 15 % untuk bunga belimbing wuluh dan 30 persen untuk daun miana. Metode pengabdiannya Adalah sosialisasi tentang tanaman local yang berpotensi mengobati batuk, kemudian mempratekkan secara langsung cara meracik ramuan tersebut. Pembagian kuisioner sebelum dan sesudah sosialisasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dari Masyarakat setempat.Untuk aspek penilaian pengetahuan tentang tanaman local persentase peningkatannya sebesar 32 %, Pemahaman senyawa berkhasiat sebesar 27%, Pengetahuan Teknik peracikan sebesar 34% dan sanitasi serta keamanan pengolahan sebesar 26%. Masyarakat sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan ini. Terbukti pada saat evaluasi, hamper semua Masyarakat tahu tentang topik pengabdian dan cara pengolahan ramuan antibatuk
Peningkatan Ketahanan Pangan Melalui Budidaya Ikan Nila: Promosi Digital Inovasi Budidaya Ikan Nila
Objektif kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah memperkuat ketahanan pangan dan meningkatkan kapasitas ekonomi masyarakat melalui inovasi budidaya ikan nila berbasis teknologi bioflok dan pemanfaatan media digital. Tujuan kegiatan meliputi peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pelaku usaha dalam penerapan sistem bioflok, serta optimalisasi media digital sebagai sarana edukasi dan promosi budidaya ikan nila. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif bersama mitra usaha Sikofish Gorontalo. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu sosialisasi program, pelatihan teknis budidaya ikan nila berbasis bioflok, pelatihan produksi dan pengelolaan konten digital, penerapan inovasi teknologi, pendampingan, serta evaluasi berkala. Konten edukasi diproduksi dan dipublikasikan melalui platform digital seperti YouTube dan Instagram untuk memperluas jangkauan informasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam menerapkan teknologi bioflok, yang ditunjukkan oleh tingginya partisipasi pada sesi praktik dan meningkatnya interaksi audiens terhadap konten edukasi yang diunggah secara daring. Selain itu, mitra usaha memperoleh sarana promosi digital yang lebih efektif sehingga informasi mengenai praktik budidaya dan produk ikan nila dapat menjangkau masyarakat yang lebih luas. Kesimpulan, kegiatan pengabdian ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kapasitas masyarakat dalam budidaya ikan nila, mendukung kemandirian pangan lokal, serta mendorong pemanfaatan media digital sebagai media edukasi dan promosi berkelanjuta
